Not Watching For The Asteroid

ABC News is poised to make a major round of cuts that will reduce the size of the news division by as much as 20% and radically reorder the network’s traditional approach to news gathering.

in a startling coincidence - The FOX News Channel (FNC) operating income, as compared to the prior year, increased 50% for both the fourth quarter and the full year, primarily from increased affiliate revenues. For the full year, FNC primetime ratings were up 45% compared with the same period a year ago.

Doesn't really need a comment does it?

Sure it does!

How long before we here in Canada get our own FNC? Oh yah, they don't have the CRTC!!!

Utopian totalitarians will take this news as proof the American public is getting stupider.

Fact of the matter is, it's the utopians who are becoming more and more irrelevant.

Canadians, like Americans, are quite capable of running their own lives. They're pushing the control freaks out of the way and the control freaks do not like it one bit.

This one might also belong under the heading, "The World Has Too Many Reporters".

Adding, "That Are Stupid/Ignorant/Oblivious" or "That Drink The Kool-Aid" might be excessive or violate a copyright.

Just a suggestion.

Increased market share even in Canada where the radio-TV signal commissars have blacked it out of XM's down streams while making CNN the US CNS Canadians must endure.

My hope at this time, would be for Conrad Black to indicate his intention to regain his Canadian citizenship ( at the earliest possible time) and subsequently reenter the Canadian information dissemination business with a conservative bent National TV voice, like FOX in the US.

I suspect Mr. Black may have come to the conclusion his superior intellect has a purpose to fulfill and it is in Canadian MSM afterall and not in necessarily in the House of Lords in Great Britain.

Let's face it, the current Canadian MSM are corporately owned and controlled by leftist whores and enablers of corrupt former Liberal administrations.

It's a race to see which collapses first: MSM or western society.

There can be only one...

Jason nails it !!

When are Canadians being regulated to switch from analog to Digitial?

I have read we are opening to deregulate. More choices better prices!

Let' hope the CBC can move to the PBS model and get their fans in Toronto to cough up to keep their friends employed.

More news entirely unrelated to the feckless liberalism of most of the new media.

"Newspapers Lost 105K Jobs Since 2001" at Fading to Black.

Things are still looking down for the MSM, but slightly less down. A little.

"U.S. Newspaper Layoffs in January: Numbers Down, But Trouble Signs Ahead"

"Newspapers in the United States reported layoffs and job cuts of 462 people throughout the month of January, News Cycle finds. It's only one-fifth of the 2,252 layoffs reported in January 2009."

That's 15 newspaper jobs lost every day in January, or 1 every 1.5 hours.
