Walmart makes almost that it nothing it sells. Maunfacturers in their thousands compete for the right to have their products on the shelves - they stock those shelves and they also, in many cases, set the price with the understanding that if sales volumes are too low that walmart will take them off the shelf or reduce the amount of face or placement they get.
Every walmart store is completely unique in its stock - a store in one part Dallas will have a very different inventory of tide products than another Dallas store as determined by the shopping habits of the consumers in that neighbourhood.
If this is what POTUS Obama means when he wants the healthcare system to operate like Walmart, then I support him 100%.
Ps- this chain - owned by the two richest men in Germany - is the next level of low-cost retail and is moving more and more Into the US :
He gave cufflinks to the Dalai Lama? Well, I guess the U.S. President who gave the Queen an iPod and the visually-impaired British P.M. a movie boxset likely picked up from Walmart which probably doesn't actually work in the U.K. hasn't quite pulled his act together yet.
Maybe the POTUS is consulting with OhPrahhh in his late night calls according to some supermarket rag...michelle is mighty pissed. After all she played a big part in getting him elected imagine that.
(I mean, cufflinks would be a terribly lame gift anyway, but surely the Dalai Lama wears robes. It's a religious thing. He's a religious guy. Have you ever seen him in a suit?
I think the cufflinks (and I've heard that a golf ball was also included) is a blog joke.
Obama is ignorant, narcissistic and likes to insult and belittle people but I find this story hard to believe.
Actually, what his metaphor means is that he wants to provide cheap 'services' to people. The problem with Obama's analogy is that health care is not 'goods' but 'services'. Walmart can scour the globe for these cheap goods. How does this translate to US health care, and the provision of doctors, staff, hospitals, equipment etc? Does the US 'scour the globe' for the cheapest doctors and staff?
It's a false analogy. But then, Obama is all about performance. Not facts.
Wal-Mart has health care and makes money. You have no health care and don't make money. Why are you talking and not learning? I'll help you out. Wal-Mart believes in supplying people with what they want at a good price. Dinna talk WM, emulate WM.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media

have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -

I can't answer or use every
tip, but all are
appreciated!

Between that and giving cufflinks to the Dali Lhama, can we just impeach this guy, please?
Right article?
He can package his nonsense any way he likes but it's still an unworkable, extremely expensive and unfair plan.
The full quote isn't on line yet, so I've sent the link to a thread of Twitter reaction until a transcript's up.

Hey! I thought the Left despised Walmart?

Walmart is the ultimate free-market setting.

Maybe somebody can find Obama a brain.
