As a third generation Canadian with ancestors of the Germanic and Celt variety I'd point out that there is another level at play in Canada... like many of my compatriots there is... "We're going to make you bleed! And THEN well have a beer! " .... this is a variation of "Let's Get the Bastards!"

However, I've noticed something interesting down here in the USA. Hardly anybody has bumper stickers. I saw one good Conservative one the other day, but for a town where -everybody- had "Impeach Bill Clinton" stickers, there's nothing.

I've seen maybe three or four cars still wearing their "Obama '08", one or two generic liberal peacenik types, and that's about it for the dark side.

Given the conversations I hear, people are P1SSED at their government. But no bumper stickers. It looks like Toronto down here.

So either stickers became mega passe in the last ten years (which is certainly possible), or Phoenix dwellers are hiding their opinions where they used to bray them. Its kind of creepy, actually.

I found the article amusing but as an aside does Canada not produce barley? Or is the barley grown unsuitable for malting? Just curious as I worked on farms where they grew barley. They aimed to sell it for malting but invariably the nitrogen content was too high so it ended up going for cattle feed. Now and then they would get a decent batch and get the malt premium. Considering the amount of beer consumed in Canada I find it hard to believe the do not have an indigenous supply.

It has been speculated that the Russians are backing off destabilizing the Middle-East.
My opinion is that the Russians suspect the Isreali's have a counter for the S300 and a further S300 failure would reflect badly on Russia's own strategic image. Or the Isreali's calmly told them that.
You should recall that Isreal successfully destroyed the Syrian Nuclear facility despite the presense of several S300 AA missile systems.
The S300 has been purported to be the best AA system in existance.
