I applaud and thank this UK man, the EU we see at work is a joke, uh seems that the assembly wasn't concerned, not many people there
Sit down, shut up and eat your socialism like a good lad now. Oh, and you better enjoy it too.

Doug, welcome to the club
I noticed the new EU dictator(no,he is not a president.those are elected) seems to like to pick his nose alot.Is that a snobbery thingie?? Maybe Frank Docherty can inform me.
Oh.And Frank. What a bunch of BS.The commie TorStar and the socialist NDP going after the military for abuse that has since been proven false. Get out and get a life.BTW....leftards are NOT whistleblowers. They are useful idiots.
Do you think we could convince Nigel Farage to speak to some Canadian parliamentarians?
The very gay (in the pejorative, as opposed to the sexual-orientation sense) reaction of Herman Van Rompuy to Nigel Farage pretty much tells the whole story, doesn't it? I mean, watch the video: Rompuy *knows* that the violatingly truth-tellingly public nature of his upbraiding precludes him from gesturally saying "shhhh..." in his comfortable, accustomed way.
At the moment when those who he would deign to rule actually stand up, the winky-winky Medici-esque complicity that brought him to power has no currency whatsoever. Watch Rompuy's reaction to Farage: he positively disappears, at the very moment of truth, into a weak wish that the moment will pass and allow him to reappear, without pause or concern, at the helm of the rulership he considers himself entitled to.
His "oh dear, that's so riff-raffy, didn't we finalize a 'Royal We' agree agreement that these sorts of people aren't allowed?" facial expressions betray an enormous, fatal weakness. He has been led to believe, to the last molecule of his being, that his ilk will rule, and that the private, elite game he's been playing is the last word, and that the truth itself is a violation of that which is fated by his ilk.
He's pulling rank far beyond what fundamental human integrity will actually allow and he knows it. History is so very, very, profoundly unkind to people like Herman Van Rompuy. He has no idea.
Beautiful!!
"miserable, fat Belgian bastards!"
Next on the new game show, Prejudice. heh.
Nigel rocks!!!
They treated the speaker like a loony until about the 1 minute mark. I figure that is when the translation hit the' yeh I'm talkin' 'bout you.'
Frank they steal money to give to the CBC to incite you. Kate doesn't have to do anything she cares not to. It's called freedom, look it up or wait for the inquiry.
This is an awesome example of an elected spokesman of the West's "Silent Majority" of Citizens of most Western nations "speaking truth to power". Illegitimate power.
Of course, Britain's establishment and their lickspittle MSM simply attack Farage, the UKIP and UKIP members as "right wing extremists", "racists", etc.
That's just their lazy version of the ad Hominem attack, rather than countering his and their grass-roots opinions and party policies, for which they don't have a non-fascist answer.
It would appear that UKIP is the British equivalent of of American Tea Party people.
So much fun as euroland frays and bends in the economic winds. Seems the hard working Germans have just figured out they work & pay for the Greeks & Spaniards to have fat government jobs with 12 weeks vacations and the French can pretend to actually rule the land.
The Euro is losing value as fast as Obamassiah is increasing America's debt.
Not one of his best speeches, but you sense the frustration is growing. He's been on the Belgium poseur since the beginning, but the usual result is a scolding for bad manners. He's talking (mostly) about freedom and sovereignty, and they're complaining that his tie is too loud.
I noticed a few posts elsewhere, where people are calling themselves 'Euro-skeptic'. If they aren't feeling a bit stronger about it, they've missed Farage's point entirely.
What I found most interesting about this video was the change in demeanor of the bureaucrat under attack. He began with the smug smirk that liberals often employ when confident that they enjoy enough support to intimidate their opponent. By the end of the video, the smirk had morphed into grim endurance. This shows the efficacy of resolve and self-confidence as demonstrated by the British representative.
I've noticed a similar change in the way the MSM deals with the Tea Party, although there the change may have more to do with economic self- interest.
This is the little Belgie wiggler who announced proudly, after his EU appointment, that "this is the first year of global governance!"
Yeah? Well govern this you greedy commie perv.
Hurrah for Nigel!! I loved his calm cool collected way of delivering a very necessary speech.
We desperately need a Nigel and a David Hannon here in Canada and the US before the bureaucrats bury us with their mumbo jumbo and sttism.
And to think Mr. Iffy and Taliban Jack would just love to subjugate us to the likes of Rompey.
Drudge has a link reporting Soros has positioned himself to make billions off the decline of the Euro. That should give him the clout to finance more leftwing politicians to continue his war against the free world.
Not a huge fan of how the attack was made, but I found it very telling when the accused's physical demeanor changed when he was accused of being anti-democratic and of hating nation-states - that was something that he agreed with (and similar reactions by those around him as well - notice that the heckling quieted down too. That is why in think the name calling was unfortunate as it made the accuser seem over the top and Ill mannered - he was much more effective when he plainly and forcefully stated the truth.
I hope he likes me.
Boy...REAL anger. Not the phony "shocked, appalled, outraged" stuff that is usually served up by politicians. How un-Canadian. How refreshing.
It's a rainy out here in the boonies of British Columbia. To much rain is depressing...so this video was a marvelous pick-me-up for a downer morning.
I have fantasies of this kind of thing happening
to Ignatieff. Wouldn't that be marvelous?
A very fun video to watch and enjoy!
Nigel Farage has a way with words doesn't he.
I thought rumpy looks more like the mad scientist on bugs bunny ...
Bald in the middle....hair streaming back on both sides....
the thought of a damp rag or low grade bank clerk never crossed my mind.
Thanks Kate....i don't know how you find this stuff.....but i'm still chucklin.
This is the third video I've seen of Nigel addressing members of the EU.
He's my new hero.
When the video clip first started, the body language of the others seemed to say something like "Who let this guy in?". As the video went on, the body language changed to say something like:
"Vee hahve vaze uv making zu not tolk zike dat."
Nigel Farage is talking about excising the bullet that the British have taken in the back of their body politic.
Straight talk like this will make him very popular, I should hope.
This is about the bullet we dodged at Copenhagen thanks in part to the CRU releases and bloggers like Kate.
I like that guy.
Very good EBD.
I have a weird take on this.
I love the speech, and especially the "who ARE you" ... "low grade bank clerk" ... et al.
BUT, here's where I get weird: why's Nigel there? Isn't Nigel just a rhetorician? In power himself, say in Britain, would he speak this forthrightly? [see: the Conservative Party's standard Islamist appeasement]. I dunno, I have grave doubts about Daniel AND Nigel. Recall, Tony Blair was often thought, even by we conservatives, to possess Churchillian flair.
As a long-term sufferer of bureauphobia, I cannot process how someone could actually sit in one of those assemblies. The boredeom must be excruciating. Perhaps Nigel is self-medicating here!
MND:
I'm not saying I agree with the Times, but they do have an opinion on the matter:
His calculated attack came as part of a strategy to build his profile for a general election battle with Speaker John Bercow in Buckingham.
The Times understands that Mr Farage is determined to be censured or suspended from the European Parliament to help with his Westminster campaign.

Awesomely awesome!
bureauphobia
Excellant.
This just points up to the grim reality that here in North America as well , we are being slowly suffocated by unelected, unimpeachable bureaucrats.
In the US, OBOZO is accelerating the process.
Here in Canada, our ELECTED government is being frustrated by an entrenched left-wing bureaucracy.
Environoment Canada is influenced more by David Suzuki than it's titular Minister Prentice.
Justice and the Solicitor General's office are continuing to crank out Sarah Brady propaganda at tax-payer expense.
Amazing that we have a similiar situation here in Canada with the leader of the opposition and yet no-one wants to talk aboout it.
I am sure the EU leaders have a plan to prevent any further scathing criticism. Just add some new rules. Introduce, expand and improve laws that have ensnared Geert Wilders. If that doesn't work, then outlaw speaking in racial tones (see NYT for definition), any talk of nationality and throw in a prohibition against hurtful looks just for good measure. After getting rid of those pesky outbursts of free speech, allow only non-offensive consensus approved language. Once the ruling elite no longer have to hear or see any signs of opposition then the problems are solved. All that is left to do is to speak clearly and slowly to the peasants until they understand the new rules and new hierarchy of rights.
Very satisfying.
Nigel also asks a very legitimate question. Where exactly does this clown get his authority?
As a Norte Americano, I don't know, but I would expect a British politician to be in the loop.
Who are all these unelected people who presume to take authority over free people? Where does their financial backing come from? With whom do they have private conversations resulting in strategy, financing, and the concession of favors?
We now are under tremendous threats from the elected and the unelected, and frankly subjugation hangs in the balance.
What a great watch. Very refreshing to know that there are some politicians left who are willing to fight for freedom and democracy. I wish Canada could provide some.
I really like this guy. Thanks for linking this stuff.
I do wonder if his target ever gave a response. I am sure that if he ever speaks it is extremely dull and void of content. Notice how I don't know his name, although I know I've heard it before. Nigel, however, is becoming a familiar name. In the space of a minute and a half there is all kinds of substance in what he says.
Well Kate, i just clicked on the link " working out for ya"
That puts a whole new spin on things.
What an assinine ruleing....
They better reverse that decision or it's over!
A few lines come to mind...
Thinking themselves wise they became as fools!
Or...
if you don't work you shouldn't eat!
If people are looking for a 'Nigel' in Canada, I suggest that Mad Max delivered a cannon shot smack into the msm wasp nest just a few days ago. Like Nigel, he did it with style and dash; msm are still in a tizzy trying to downplay the Climategate tornado delivered by this handsome, rash gentleman from Quebec. I am laughing from my heart AT them and with our magnificent PM and, of course, Mad Max!
We had plenty of Nigel's in the HOC a few years ago when the Reformers went to Ottawa, Monte Solberg, Gerry Britcritz, Lee Morrison, Darrell Stinson, Steven Harper, Mr. Mills, David Anderson (the handsome Sask. Cypress Hills M.P.; not the moth ball creep from Victoria who, as the Crechen's environment min failed to clean up the open sewers in his hometown city, Victoria). Canada had our 'Nigels' years ago but if a person did not have CPAC and watched the HOC on CPAC, then it was all for naught because msm in Canada ignored all these magnificent speeches. Msm in Canada 'spun' the speeches and sneered at the Reformers, Canadian Conservatives, in their own snotty way sneered too - they did not want to be 'rednecks' so they commented about 'over the top' comments from Reformers and 'need to tone down the rhetoric'; Presto Manning was one of the first on the 'tone down' band wagon; right after he moved into Stornoway.
All of this happened before sda, the internet and U-tube. The speeches are still in Hansard. Maybe we should dig some of them out since they are responsible for the (limited) freedom we still have in Canada. The Reformers gave Nigel the template, not the other way around. Check out the speech of Mr. Mills - his two day filibuster - about Kyoto- if you doubt. The magnificent M.P. 's from Western Canada - some of them are still in the hoc and we should be bragging them up, not asking where our "Nigel' is, IMO!
I keep asking the same question. Where does the Prime Minister, Governor General, Premier, any Judges, Senators, Property Appraisers etc.... appear on any Canadian ballot. No ballot, no democracy.
England and Canada are both monarchies ruled by an 90% appointed, patronized and elitist ruling class.
How did Sheila Copps become the PM of Canada?
LOL if Five Feet of Fury were an MP I suspect she'd be just like him.
Awesome.
Along the lines of your comment, Me No Dhimmi, I was wondering after I watched the video -- and I loved it -- who is Nigel Farage?
So, I looked him up and found out that he is a British politician and former leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). He is also a member of the European Parliament for the South East. He co-chairs the European Parliament's Europe of Freedom and Democracy group.
Apparently, he's running to become an MP at Westminster. If successful, he'll have to give up being an MEP, which would be a pity. Who, other than the very late Winston Churchill can speak so articulately, eloquently, and outrageously about such a dastardly organization as the EU (Ee-ew)?
I wish Canada had an equally plain-spoken politician to put the anti-democratic nasties in their place.
batb: Who, other than the very late Winston Churchill can speak so articulately, eloquently, and outrageously about such a dastardly organization as the EU (Ee-ew)?
==========================
There's this guy, too.
Give me 12 Nigel Farage's and I will shake the world. :)
Thanks, Louise.
Those Brits! The best and the worst.
Bravo Daniel Hannan. Well-said, sir.
Thanks Louise. Somewhere else to day I said David Hannan. My apologies to David and to posters if I confused anyone.
batb said "Those Brits! The best and the worst." Too bad there do not seem to be enough of the former to reverse the trend in old blighty.
