The Great Data Migration

Here’s Phil Jones, who recently stood aside as director of the Climatic Research Unit in East Anglia, gravid with data in a 1996 email:

In our maximum latewood density reconstruction from the polar Urals to AD 914, the most anomalous summer is AD 1032. A lot of other volcano
years are there with summers of -3 to -4 sigma such as 1816,1601,1783 and
1453 (I think this later one is Kuwae that is being found in the Ice Cores
in the Antarctic. However 1032 is 6 sigma and it may be the Baitoushan
event which you say is 1010 +/- 50 years or the Billy Mitchell event.

Jones nine years later in a 2005 email:

(McKitrick and McIntyre) have been after the CRU station data for years. If they ever hear there is a freedom of Information act now in the UK, I think I’ll delete the file rather than send to anyone.

Jones three days ago:

We interpret data. We don’t create or collect it. It’s all available from other sources.

  1. This climate stuff is very much like ice dancing… all huffy , so emotional and quite subjective… not a real sport in my opinion.

  2. Think – Kate, Anthony, Steve and others.
[ The practice of science has generally been restricted to a social elite and its occasional recruits, as it requires a prior academic education and a sufficiency of leisure and of material resources. With the new information technology, all that is changing rapidly. As we see from the ‘open source’ movement, many people play an active role in enjoyable technological development in the spare time that their job allows or even encourages. Moreover, all over IT there are blogs that exercise quality control on the industry’s productions. In this new knowledge industry, the workers can be as competent as the technicians and bosses. ] Jerome Ravetz
    And think MSM slackers
[ Even now, the catalogue of unscientific practices revealed in the mainstream media is very small in comparison to what is available on the blogosphere. ]
And, as always – the truth will root out the lie.
[The final stage of corruption, cover-up, had taken hold. For the core scientists and the leaders of the scientific communities, as well as for nearly all the liberal media, ‘the debate was over’. Denying Climate Change received the same stigma as denying the Holocaust. Even the trenchant criticisms of the most egregious errors in the IPCC reports were kept ‘confidential’. And then came the e-mails.]
And the catalyst, the enabler, the criminal alarmist
[ To have a political effect, the ‘extended peers’ of science have traditionally needed to operate largely by means of activist pressure-groups using the media to create public alarm.]

  3. I can imagine the first words of advice a hotshot PR guy would give to these scienticians – er, scientists:
“Shut up. For God’s sake, don’t open your mouth in public again.”

I am confident that luminaries such as Pachauri, Gore, Hansen and even Shyzukster have been counseled that…..they have rejected the advice……

  5. Once a lie is told another lie has to be told to cover up the first lie …and so on and so on..the msm were not questioning ANYTHING that the Climitology cult was ordaining, consequently the web of lies was never a concern because the holies of the holies (the Goricles of Doom) were sacred cows – not to be even approached unless wearing blinders. The msm complied, prostrated on their stomachs, heads in their hands, facing down -kow towing as dogs do to the Alpha dog.
The msm should be furious for being made the butt of jeers; yet still they bare their faces and prance around as though nothing has happened. Incredible.
It is all a set up – as Lord Monckton has so eloquently said; many times – to make citizens slaves.

  6. Oh poor Phil. He feels sad because his work is not being accepted. So sad he contemplated suicide we are to infer. That seems to be a bit of an over reaction to work not being accepted. But it might be perfectly in line if one was caught red handed lying to the world.
He says he has received death threats, but he doesn’t tell us what they were. I’m sorry folks, but there is a credibility issue here. In the same way their model always produces hockey sticks, when he runs the input through the computer model in his head, a simple, “Good morning”, from Steven McIntyre will come out as a death threat.
And where does he get the need to spend 18 hours on an FOI request? I know folks who work in institutions (albeit not in the UK) that are subject to FOI legislation and there is no such requirement. More Lies?
And then trying to suggest that the world was picking on him in 2005 when the data was being sought. The paranoia is astounding.
This man clearly needs the help of a medical professional.

  7. The great irony in all this is that climate gate researchers will get their global warming wish. Why? Because its going to be pretty damn hot for them when they all go to hell for the lies upon lies they have told.
