Great way to start the day.

you realize according to the EPA that toast is poison, bread covered in carbon!

Steve Janke has a good story - very encouraging that carbon taxes/cap & trade will be a non-starter pretty quick:

The Penn State report on M Mann is late.

I smell burnt toast...

Suzuki Foundation should try pimping their climate change message 90 minutes up the road from Cypress (Vanc).

Whistler has had record snowfall this year. More snow by the end of Jan. than ever before.

Sorry.

He is not toast.

History shows that there is no accountability at the UN. He will stay on and keep denying the truth.

The only way things might change is if funding were held back.

Looking at the line up on Kate's blog today. Not a good day for scientific research.

No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong. - Albert Einstein

Do any of these people believe in the scientific method? No science is ever settled. Ever. Considering the numerous variables, many of which are constantly changing, of the earth's climate, it is impossible to prove (or disprove) anything.

Under some circumstances CO2 creates warming; under some circumstances it creates cooling. Some areas will experience intense heat this summer; some areas will experience the coldest winters. The conflicting evidence is everywhere. Proving anything is futile.

Realize that Mother Nature is fickle (and ostentatious). Proclaim she is tame, and she attacks with vigour; loathe her, and the sun shines. That's why the name of this "movement" is now "Climate Change", as that is about the only thing one can confidently prove at any time in recorded history: climates have changed.

Now watch the earth's climate remain stubbornly unchanged!

Rajendra Pachauri is Toast.. The idiot thinks he is controlling an academic exercise.. He was picked by the UN /EU communists because he is a moron that is driven by greed..........A Gore twin with an uncontrollable mouth….

The Statements by Pachauri will become his worst nightmare in a “legitimate” court of law…A lawyer will eat him alive.. like rolling a passed out drunk….

The Cyprus hill is right on the West coast and often has winter seasons with little snow. It's only a big deal this year because of the Olympics.

The Suzuki climate mafia fails to mention that we are experiencing an El Nino phenomenon this year. That evebt comes around every few years from the South Pacific and it has nothing to do with global warming.. it is an ocean current thing.

But why use facts when 'feelings' may be believed.

It took the Popes about four hundred years to admit(sorta) that Galileo was treat in a most disgusting manner.

The Internet will allow blogs to make sure the UN Suzuki Gore crowd gets their due much sooner.

The UN and the media supressed and hid damning information. The church did the same with Galileo's and Kepler's work. Same shi! different pile.

What people are only now realizing that IPCC stands for Idiots Peddling Climate Calamity?

Ron

Same shit more RAM.

IPCC / Copenhagen: illegitimate, sums it all up.

Mount Washington on Vancouver Island has a snow base of 364cm.

"Light snow continuing into tomorrow. Easing tomorrow afternoon. More snow expected early next early next week."

That is the most awesome image ever.

I Squint my eyes while looking at the toast and
I see David Suzuki's likeness, I continue staring and slowly it morphs into Al Gore, and then abruptly Maurice Strong appears.
I can't look any more, I am afraid Ban ki-Moon likeness may show up next, on the toast!

The thing I dislike most is this was called science. From what I saw it was poor science and cooking. Even the scientists that were misstated went along with the game. I've seen my share of administrative meddling and desperation to get something out the door but this whole story should use the name Climate Edict.

rroe:

The best thing for AGW skeptics would be for Pachauri to stay on. It's as if the NDP chose Buzz Hargrove as their leader.

A gift, really.

For the real story about what is really coming just Google "Solar Minimum"

I see the face of Saint Peter.

I prefer sourdough toast with strawberry jam. Delicious with a Denver omelet. **http://www.hickerphoto.com/winter-snow-scenes-8096-pictures.htm**

Right from the start I didn't believe in global warming. As well I also predicted Owebawa was an empty suit and would be a colossal failure damaging the US.
So today, as I was patting myself on the back for being so damn smart I suddenly realized that I wasn't so smart after all! Its just that everyone else was so damn stupid.

horny Toad

Canada to the rescue! We needed an option, now we have one! Bet there's going to be a lot of people who will be sorry they sold their V-10 Pickup to the Cash for Clunkers program, when such an easy solution was just around the corner.

Well, yes...but you will remember how many people lost their jobs over "Oil for Food".

This is going to take a while.

Meanwhile, anyone else noticing a scarcity of incandescent lightbulbs? they are still there but the twisty things are taking over. Which is hilarious in BC - 90% of the electricity is generated by good old falling water. Thank God for national standards otherwise us Westcoasters would not be able to "share the pain".

Big Nanny State jumps on the AGW Train.

The bleeding hearts:

"Cold snap stalls trains, drains batteries

Extreme Alert"

"The City of Toronto issues an extreme cold weather alert anytime the temperature dips below -15C. It opens up more beds in shelters and doubles shelter staff."

If you stare at it long enough, you'll see three glaciers - evaporated.

“A disgusting putrid apology of an outrageous perversion of the scientific method. I would urge all readers to review the comments as their very sharp audience weighs in and cuts the apologists to shreds. I have included one that will make all Cornell alumni very proud:

“Shame on SA for publishing such a blatantly biased apology for what appear to have been long lasting and willful manipulations on an issue of the greatest importance to us all. Casual dismissal of Climategate as “a record of how Science is actually done” is deeply offensive to me. No this is not the way Science is actually done! Climategate has brought to public light all kinds of behaviors anathema to Science: Groupthink, restricted and/or proprietary access to data, significant use of poorly documented yet “highly complex” data processing techniques, primary reliance on extrapolations or “proxies”, and most damningly, offhand dismissal of skeptics as crackpots, quickly come to my mind. As a scientifically trained person, I am genuinely embarrassed that the Wall Street Journal, as opposed to SA, has understood the great concerns raised by Climategate.

“Negating “Climategate”: “…” Climate Science Survive Stolen E-Mail Controversy (Read Comments)
Scientific American ^ | Jan 29, 2010 | David Biello

Copenhagen—Even under this city’s low, leaden skies, at least one thing remained clear as leaders from 193 countries gathered to negotiate climate agreements: one ton of carbon dioxide emitted in the U.S. has the same effect as one ton emitted in India or anywhere else. That simple truism is part of a huge body of data pointing to humanity’s effect on climate, and for most negotiators, the weight of that evidence seems to have crushed any doubt they may have felt in the wake of the 1,000-plus e-mails and computer code stolen from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU).

The theft made headlines as “Climategate” in November, and many private correspondences among scientists became public. Climate contrarians and politicians, including Senator James M. Inhofe of Oklahoma, have claimed that the messages show that climate science was far from settled, that “tricks” were used and that researchers hid unfavorable data.

In fact, nothing in the stolen material undermines the scientific consensus that climate change is happening and that humans are to blame. “Heat-trapping properties can be verified by any undergraduate in any lab,” notes climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe of Texas Tech University. “The detection of climate change, and its attribution to human causes, rests on numerous lines of evidence.” They include melting ice sheets, retreating glaciers, rising sea levels and earlier onset of spring, not to mention higher average global temperatures.

I missed the asterisk at first glance, and thought Kate was making a political statement:
Brown bread good, white bread bad.

But then I realized it was actually an experiment to determine if AGW was valid: butter side up, AGW is true; butter side down, AGW is a hoax.

And the results after one flip of the slice: AGW is a fraud! Well done Kate, your experiment is likely as scientifically sound as anything out of East Anglia. :)

(Btw it is -28C as I write this on a frigid Manitoba morning.)

Professor Cogley believed the IPCC had misread the date in a 1996 report which said the glaciers could melt significantly by 2350.

Ah, that triple-layered heavy-duty gimlet-eyed gold-standard infallible peer review!

" Dr Pachauri had previously dismissed a report by the Indian Government which said that glaciers might not be melting as much as had been feared. He described the report, which did not mention the 2035 error, as “voodoo science”. "

Easy for him(others) to dismiss.

Grants are now in his(their) pockets.

Tab is ours to pay.
