It's the end of the beginning;
A catastrophic heat wave appears to be closing in on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. How hot is it getting in the scientific kitchen where they've been cooking the books and spicing up the stew pots? So hot, apparently, that Andrew Weaver, probably Canada's leading climate scientist, is calling for replacement of IPCC leadership and institutional reform.
If Andrew Weaver is heading for the exits, it's a pretty sure sign that the United Nations agency is under monumental stress. Mr. Weaver, after all, has been a major IPCC science insider for years. He is Canada Research Chair in Climate Modelling and Analysis at the University of Victoria, mastermind of one of the most sophisticated climate modelling systems on the planet, and lead author on two recent landmark IPCC reports.
For him to say, as he told Canwest News yesterday, that there has been some "dangerous crossing" of the line between climate advocacy and science at the IPCC is stunning in itself.
Not only is Mr. Weaver an IPCC insider. He has also, over the years, generated his own volume of climate advocacy that often seemed to have crossed that dangerous line between hype and science.

If you were to accept Lomborg's way of thinking, then maybe what Hitler did was the right thing."
The Skeptical Environmentalist's longest chapter is devoted to global warming. In it, Lomborg accepts the IPCC's scientific assessment reports as the basis of his analysis. What Pachauri apparently objects to is that Lomborg concludes that the Kyoto Protocol would do almost nothing to reduce the rate of global warming, but at enormous expense. For a fraction of the costs of Kyoto, many pressing environmental problems afflicting poor countries could be addressed.
This is hardly Nazi thinking, but it is not the first time the Nazi analogy or something like it has been directed at Dr. Lomborg. The British scientific journal Nature, for instance, in November 2001 published a review of The Skeptical Environmentalist by Stuart Pimm of the Center for Environmental Research and Conservation, Columbia University, and Jeff Harvey of the Centre for Terrestrial Ecology, Netherlands Institute of Ecology. They said, "The text employs the strategy of those who, for example, argue that gay men aren't dying of AIDS, that Jews weren't singled out by the Nazis for extermination, and so on."
Godwin's Law and its variants teach us many things. They teach us that genuine debate is not well served by Nazi analogies. They teach us that those who employ Nazi analogies usually have either weak arguments or are too emotionally invested in the subject to be dispassionate on the issue. And they teach us that those who see Nazi analogies being employed are liable to trust those who use them less.
All these lessons apply in current environmental policy debates. If we are to reach sound democratically based conclusions on the issues, then we could do without the inflammatory language from one side. Those who are obsessed with equating the thinking of vegetarian Danish professors of statistics with that of the one of the greatest monsters of history condemn themselves and their arguments with them. From all we have learned from Godwin's Law, it may be a sign that they have lost the argument already."

Why was there so much invested into modelling from the start? Do so-called "climate scientists" not know that climate has fluctuated so greatly in the history of the earth? Do they all live in urban centers giving them a skewed vision of life on this planet? Obviously this approach is deeply flawed so-called "climate science" so corrupted to not be science at all? Who has the deep pockets and influence to keep it all going in one single direction?

A month ago Weaver was claiming a global conspiracy funded by big oil was behind the hacking/leak of CRU e-mails.
The conspiracy went so far as to include nefarious forces that had attempted to break into offices on the U-Vic campus.

Why was there so much invested into modelling from the start?
Simply because the actual data ... ya know ... the real world, isn't all that alarming. You really can't make a case for "we're all doomed" with a less than 1 degree temperature rise over 150 years.
Many of us are really impressed with computers and make the assumption that if a computer said it ... using real math even ... then it must be true. It is just hard to accept that it is possible to use both computers and math to present a deliberately false picture. Even worse, many of the modellers get so caught up in the fantasy worlds inside their computers that they don't believe that they are lying. Sorta like Obama starting to believe his own press clippings produced by his PR staff.
The models, even more than all the various "gates" of recent days, are the real achilles heel of the AGW movement. Without them everything is just business as usual, move along, nothing to see here.
I predict that in coming weeks and months the MSM, now that they are being dragged into the real debate, will start listening to and reporting on those scientists who are saying that the models are about as reliable as a table of random numbers for predicting future climate states.

Today, one of the challenges for those that don’t subscribe to the AGW hysteria is that as the reporting goes. It is now possible for the “journalists”, IPCC paper pushers and others that make living spreading AWG propaganda to omit reference to A of AWG and talk about global warming and climate change as though it is understood that it is homo sapiens that is the cause of it.
Population, going about their business of making living, doing what ever they do, does not in general inquire about the pronouncements of these propagandists. Is it true? Well so and so said so, so it must by so, end of inquiry.
To set things in some sensible perspective, the mass media (as they like to say that it is their duty) must report truthfully about the circumstances of this phenomenon called climate change. A good start would be to inform that climate change is a constant; climate has been changing since there was sun, moon, oceans, wind, cosmic rays and all the myriad of variables that affect which way the wind blows.
Since the mass media is unlikely to do any of that kind of reporting until it hits them right between the eyes, those that have interest and gather information will have to do.
Ok, ok, AGW it is.
Lets remake the world with IPCC trillions of dollars of funding to reorient the entire world economy to a problem that doesn't exist.

Granted that Pachauri is a loon, and a sinister and corrupt loon at that, how does it follow that he is an anti-Semite? Because he likens Lomborg's reasoning, as expressed in The Skeptical Environmentalist (excellent reading, BTW) to that of Hitler? He is simply indulging in one of the favorite pastimes of the looney Left, drawing totally-flawed analogies between their opponents of the day and the evil "right-wing" Nazis.

I heard this doctor on the Bill Good show a few weeks after Climategate broke. He dismissed a question about any AGW caused rise in sea levels with a dismissive "Well, just ask the people being evacuated off south Pacific islands." Of course, Bill "I've got no journalistic integrity" Good didn't ask the good doctor to name the island(s). On an earlier appearance on the same show, the doctor stated that he was going to get the CRTC to investigate the radio ads paid for by friendsofscience.org and how his office and others at UVic had been broken into by people funded by Big Oil. Of course, Mr. Good didn't challenge any of this. Apparently he's perfectly happy with having the gov't censors clamp down on anyone who dares question "consensus" and any Big Oil based conspiracy claim just has to be true, doesn't it?

Had a visit with a high up msm doo-dad lately, he worked for the biggest daily locally, he had heard a little about this SCAM being exposed as such, but was not familiar with all his sychophants and lie purveyors running from the sinking ship. I asked him why he knew so little about this, and he had no answer. I could not believe that this big-wig was so ill-informed, but now I know they must have really tasty bath water within the MSM and they see no need to taste anything else. He asked me how I knew what I related to him about this and I was in awe of his lack of research, what is he and all the other media dorks job description, to go after Harper for farting in a bathroom? This is the quality of our MSM, is it any wonder the SCAM got so much traction, and now as it unravels no one in the MSM asks any questions. Don't waste a nickel on a newspaper folks.

Recently Weaver had a column in our local Vanc Island paper "The News Parksville" about the CRU leak and said it was all blown out of proportion and nothing there. I sent a letter to the Editor on Jan 21 titled "Nothing but a big farce" and to my surprise they printed it! He will not appreciate the put down! Just think our taxpayers dollars are paying for this guy!
I sent a copy of this letter to Weaver`s buddy Good at CKNW for good measure.

You haven't been paying attention. For several years -- much of this decade, in fact -- Lawrence Solomon, Terrence Corcoran and Lorne Gunther have been pounding away on this theme. The NP has never been in the tank with the alarmists; and they have no actual perpetrators on their staff, as the G and M does with Jeffrey Simpson.
I think Mr Weaver is saying that "Pandering to Idiots” must not be practiced between Scientists... He may have been too trusting of the other members of the IPCC
I suspect other scientists, with integrity, will distance themselves from the fraud...and save their careers. It is not reasonable to think that ALL members of the IPCC are involved in the Fraud…..

There wouldn't be an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change if the underlying assumption weren't that there was a Climate Change crisis necessitating an Intergovernmental Panel.
To date, there isn't a shred of proof that any crisis exists in the area of climate change.
Anyone with the IPCC that started out thinking they were pursuing scientific truth has been pushed out long ago.
