Most of the men I talk to are very skeptical of man made global warming. Most of the women, over 50, are also skeptical, while almost all the younger women are convinced we're about to fry the planet. Now I understand how that happened.
I'm starting to understand why politicians are so afraid to speak what they probably believe. The big majority of politicians are men, who are probably skeptics, but it would be difficult to maintain relations, at home, if they went public with their skepticism.
Maybe, politicians should listen to their mothers, once in a while.
So they target the 18-49 year old woman? Check. No surprise.
They cater to fear(False Emotions Appearing Real)? Check
Referring back to #1....they cater to the hormones of a species(women)and metrosexual men during the child bearing years?Check.Again,no surprise.
And although this may sound like a neanderthal,we let the above vote, and worse, actually HOLD positions of power? Check.
It ain't only the MSM that is going the way of the dinosaur. And BTW 99% of all species that once existed.
And leftard responses in 5..4...
It is also quite common to find commercials and public service inserts in such time slots as well as soap operas like Law and Order following the genre where all child or young/middle aged adult males are either idiots or potential rapists while mom and her female progeny stuggle to keep the world on track. Supposedly "in touch with their feelings" vacuous young matrons "interviewed" on any news story subject will invariably first take the time to make it plain they are wonderful, caring, mothers before offering a series of ill informed sound bites and cliches on the questions being asked .
And so it goes:
Dirty Laundry
-----------------
I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry
Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I dont have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em all around
We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
Its interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
You dont really need to find out whats going on
You dont really want to know just how far its gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre stiff
Kick em all around
Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybodys pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When its said and done we havent told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!
You are absolutely right Sgt. Law and Order used to be a decent show but the last few years it has become a joke. Spewing it's left wing puke in every episode. I refuse to watch it anymore. Actually there isn't much on TV doesn't have the lefty agenda woven into it.
And don't get me started on commercials... The latest nauseating example is the Tim Horton's prepay card ad where the moronic male (husband) thinks his card that his wife gave him is magic because it never runs out. She condescendingly informs him that she has gone on line (something he obviously is incapable of doing or understanding) and put it on an automatic renewal status. This says two things...the guy is operating at a 5 year old level because he is male and his brilliant grown-up wife is handling the finances. Then she in sarcastically in baby talk tone says..."Ahhh did you tell all your buddies it was magic!"
Tim Hortons just lost a customer....
Altaguy...so right....yet if the roles were reversed in those ads,we would all be hauled into court by the fem-nazis.
Could somebody(ET maybe?)explain to me just when the psychologicl rape of the male brain into a metrosexual, limp wristed, panty wearing man, can't survive without Mommy, thing began?
There are a few overwrought terms I hear regularly in tv news and the link helps to explain why they're used.
"Loved ones" - aaargh! As they say on the lawyer shows, it assumes facts not in evidence. The newsreader has no idea if the person in question was in fact loved by anyone; for all he/she knows, that person could be universally hated and parties celebrating the misfortune could be in the planning stages. "Family" works just fine.
"Things went terribly wrong" - We already knew that. If things hadn't gone terribly wrong, the newsreader wouldn't be wearing his/her head-tilting, lip-biting, oh-look-how-much-I-care face. Also, if things hadn't gone terribly wrong, it wouldn't be on the news.
The article confirms much of what I have suspected for a long time but the comments are a real treat. Almost all of the critics don't address the substance of the article but a critical because he chose to remain anonymous yet they themselves are anonymous. As Bart Simpson say, "the ironing is delicisous."
This is not a new phenominum. It goes all the way back to show like "Father knows best" Where the dad was portrayed as a bumbler and Mom handled everything. The left bias of the news gets more sickening all the time. Even in a so-called right wing paper like the Calgary Sun, Bill Kaufman was writing about the editorial board meeting with Daniel Smith. He largely was doing a nice job of it but couldn't resist editorializing on her statement that the global warming science was not settled and she would not be spending public money on it by stating there certainly is a consensus on Global Warming. I don't know if he realizes how he has exposed himself as an idiot. Consensus has nothing to do with science. It is a political word. At one point the consensus was the the earth was flat!
I stopped watching any national news years ago and get two papers to try to get a wider view of the stories. If it weren't for the flyers my wife wants we wouldn't even get them.
Talking about stupid commercials, I can't stand the one for Cialis where the couple move down the row of seats at the opera, sit down just as the opera ends. First off the theatre would never allow you into the auditorium if you were late and secondly my wife and I are not the types to be so inconsiderate of others. So only inconsiderate types buy Cialis is what the commercial says to me. Fortunately there are other products out there.
I have to agree with Kathy's blog post.....that 18-49 female segment MUST be gullible or the advertisers would not shamelessly flog that stupid man/wise woman scenario.
however, I am not convinced it is a totally gender thing though....I had a buddy who would automatically laugh along with "canned laughter"/laugh tracks.....when I enquired what was so funny...he hadn't clue one.
These are the ones who defend their belief in the latest hoax by referring to a concensus---"EVERYBODY knows---EVERYBODY agrees"....and so on.
This was the goal of the lefties infiltration of our schools/media---dumbing down the population---they have largely succeeded.
However, if you know the technique, it is easy to push their buttons...and own them....they are after all preprogrammed/highly suggestable.
I think I recognize the prose of the once newsman who wrote this article. It's Bernie Goldberg, who is often a guest on Fox News' Bill O'Reilly show...I believe.

In all that time they

What a great post. How disgusting it is to consider that, for governments, fear is a renewable power source and they use lots of it.
I must add that for the past couple of days, the out of control altruism on all media regarding that cesspool, Haiti is vomitable.

i think it's really the younger set they're after, not necessarily broads per se.
Working in the video industry for 3 yrs cinched it.
Reading the comments section I was struck by the cynicism of the average person now to the MSM.
It bosted my day.
