Jim Treacher brings the latest developments at the DC Trawler.

Deadbeat dad flees country.

Pretty sad when the National Enquirer can get the scoop on a story years in advance of the MSM...

John Edwards is a sleaze. I knew that long before the tabloids.

What scoop? That there's an unforced error. They thought they could ignore it (sound familiar?) but were dead wrong. And soon they'll just be dead.

Unbelievable, the CBC has posted on television "You have been invited to Protest".

Just heard on Adler that the National Enquirer is submitting the Edwards story for Pulitzer consideration.

Seems about right and certainly more deserving than OBama's Nobel.

Syncro

This just shows MSM is on a level even below the tabloids.

Simeon @ 4:49 posted "the CBC has posted on television "You have been invited to Protest"." Does this surprise anyone on this board anymore. CBC has been a shill for the Liberals and NDPs for years now.

Like I said in today's reader tips, sharp as a butter knife these reporters.

WaPo: "While the Enquirer stories may or may not be prize-winning material -- the paper's most significant disclosures came in 2007 and 2008, and this year's Pulitzers will honor material published in 2009 -- there is no question that the tabloid scooped the rest of the media world."

Bullshit. If a rival news organization gets a piece of breaking news a few minutes ahead of you, you've been "scooped"; if you deliberately elide a story for two years for baldly partisan reasons, you haven't been "scooped," you've been "exposed".

I'm a smellin Pulitzer Prizzzzze material a going on heeere.

These politicians actually believe that one can spin anything, that their publisists are magicians who can make anything disappear. Delusional at best. I guess he figured that since he made tha admission while on a tour of Haiti, the public would forgive him. I call it morality accounting - I did a bad thing - now I must do a good thing to have a clear balance sheet.

The hands-down winners of the Pulitzer Prize should be the guy and gal who exposed ACORN. The rest of the media was asleep at the switch - or willfully blind.

I think the National Inquirer should be one of the media advisors for the next presidential debate. They could replace the New York Times which doesn't have any credibility now.

Glenn Beck made big bucks tonight for Fox! And hopefully showed the Obambi what a dork he and his progressive loons are like. Well worth the extra monthly cable costs.

Agreed!

Glenn Beck had a great documentary on his program this afternoon. If anyone needs background material after seeing the program, read "The Black Book of Communism", Stephane Courtois, et al, 1999, Harvard University Press.

The sad part is that most MSM, and the educational system, continue to glorify Che Guevara, the Papenau Brigade, etc, as well as give free passes of the likes of John Edwards and Obama's Commissars.

You can purchase Che Guevara posters at McNally Robinson booksellers for your teenager.

So it's a news story when one Democrat screws one voter, but how about when THE Democrats screw all voters?

Yeah right ...

When the MSM comes up against a left wing billionaire and plaintiff's class action lawyer who is also a Democratic Senator and presidential aspirant the questions tend to be on the more mundane level like:

"More bootlicking now and/or later sir?"

You can purchase Che Guevara posters at McNally Robinson booksellers for your teenager.

You should take one up to the front and as the clerk if they have any in "adolph hitler"....

Unbelievable, the CBC has posted on television "You have been invited to Protest".

Maybe someone could get a photo of that and send it to the ombudsman at CBC? Media bias? No kidding!

Don't forget - the National Enquirer scooped the Monica Lewinsky story as well. The MSM hushed that one up.

Just as the MSM hushes up some stories, just as Google selectively hides stories (Climategate) - is it any wonder we worry that everyone has an agenda, and that trust is hard to come by??

I like the 'crossover' angle of the post. The Enquirer is on a steady upward line, while the MSM is on a downward trend. The John Edwards story is a perfect place for the two lines to cross.

The Enquirer has a big advantage nowadays. Their reputation for sloppy journalism makes people take notice when they get a story right. The MSM gets noticed when they make an obvious blunder. Not a good way to build a customer base.

Does anyone else see this as a Tommy Lee Jones/Will Smith moment in the original "Men in Black" movie where Tommy looks for evidence of an alien incursion in the tabloids?  When Smith's character is incredulous, Jones says "Best investigative reporting on the planet!  Oh, you can try the dailies, New York Times, Washington Post -- they occasionally get lucky."

Garth

MSM bent over, backwards and forwards to diss, twist, and hurt so many aspects of Palin's child and grandchild.
They out did National Enquirer.
Guess the masses aren't supposed to notice.

And in the latest financial news, the National Equirer is still solvent. The others, not so much.

The Enquirer also helped bring the hammer down on Democrat Presidential candidate Gary Hart after he dared them.

I don't read the news. They're just finding out about John Edwards now?

Figures.

But hey, there's REAL news today. "Scorned mistress of Obama adviser posts BILLBOARDS".

www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,583653,00.html

"YaVaughnie Wilkins posted the signs after she learned that her lover, Charles E. Phillips — president and director of the tech conglomerate Oracle Corporation and a member of Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board — had reconciled with his wife, the New York Post reported.

The billboards -- there are three in New York and one apiece in Atlanta and San Francisco, where Phillips lives -- may have cost Wilkins up to $250,000, at an estimated $50,000 each.

After the billboards surfaced, Phillips fessed up to his longtime affair through a spokesman on Thursday."

Yeah, but previously nobody in the entire universe knew this guy was anything but the straightest straight arrow -ever-, right? Right?

And because its real news, real juicy and really looks bad for Barry, its on Drudge Report and FOX. But no-place else.

Suicide seems like too mild a word anymore to describe the MSM's behavior. Its like they're taking poison while stabbing themselves in mid-fall off the Golden Gate bridge. Into a tub of sharks. Sharks with guns.

And, I LOVE IT!!!! Faster faster faster!

FWI, McNally Robinson recently closed one of its Wpg stores and is on the verge of bankruptcy.

And there is a distinct possibility of a snow storm hitting the professional protesters against the prorogue tomorrow in Wpg, from Environment Canada:
"Winter storm warning for
City of Winnipeg issued...
The initial phase will bring an area of snow over Southwest Manitoba this evening spreading into the Red River Valley and Southeast Manitoba tonight into Saturday morning. In general about 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected with this initial band, with snow possibly mixed with ice pellets or freezing drizzle at times."

I will be sitting comfortably at home watching curling and hockey, a more usefull Canadian exercise.

Kate, my stubble jumper neighbour, I understand you too may be hit by the same storm. A fresh layer of snow is so welcome, to cover the Grit(s) and other detritus that will be wandering in the wind tomorrow.

Nice to see that the big 'non-partisan' fundraiser for Haiti had to include a snarky dig at PMSH by Rick Mercer.First budget cut should be a slash and burn at the cbc.
Hey Al,the Frozen Fish,we're hunkerin down here in SE Man..the three dogs and I have a lovely roaring fire on,Fox News, and a full bar!

Ahhh, yes, Mercer., Just saw the same thing... Wish I could get in touch with his girlfriend, and ask her to be "nicer" to him, he is obviously doing without.

Ahhh, yes, Mercer., Just saw the same thing... Wish I could get in touch with his girlfriend, and ask her to be "nicer" to him, he is obviously doing without. He has this hate for our PM, must be some kind of a "repression".

"Kurtz also works for CNN and hosts its weekly media program, "Reliable Sources.""

Kate, I deliberated for some time, when I saw the Che poster in McNally Robinson, about whether to talk to the manager about it, but decided why make a scene. The poor ignorant sod probably does not know Che's history. I might talk to him next time I am there and the question about the Adolf Hitler poster might be in order.

We no longer frequent the Chapters/Coles chain because they took Mein Kampf off the shelves a number of years ago, but continue to sell Das Kapital and other Marxist literature. I just have a thing about book burners or censors even though the content of these books is dehumanizing garbage.

This selective book selling is indicative of what Glen Beck was getting at this afternoon when he said, and I'm paraphrasing, that the progressives ignore the deeds of the greater left socialist murderers such as Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, Che et al and concentrate on the right socialist murderer Hitler. Pinochet and Franco are in a altogether different category.

I actually would not like to see McNally Robinson go under, as it is good to have smaller independent book sellers.

@Sammy
I'm just south of the 'peg, watching the radar turning green (odd colour to indicate snow), and waiting for the last episode of the Tonight Show before Jay Benito Leno takes over the time slot. That's been a fun train wreck to watch this past week.

I find Leno funny, and O'Brian corny and "boring",. but then I am a part of the "older gen', wrong demo.

For people who do not yet have Fox News, a large portion of Glen Beck's "Progressive' program is at foxnews.com in the video section. Glen did a fabulous job of exposing the agenda of the Progressives (Commies,Bolsheviks, totalitarians...) in less than 60 minutes.

Do you remember from the movie "Men in Black" when Tommy Lee Jones checked the "Hot Sheets" - tabloid magazines.

"Best investigative journalism on the planet."

I'm beginning to think Jeanne Dixon would do a better job predicting movements in the economy than Tim Geithner, Paul Volcker, Larry Summers, and Paul Krugman. These idiots don't even know what CAUSED the housing and financial crisis much less how to fix the damage.

Is it not amazing what a little Brown can do?

Tonight I watched OReilly boast about his ratings and then rip up Obama with 'the truck'. The left is clueless.

1/20/10 is a day everything changed.

That baby looks exactly like John Edwards. One look and you'd know he's the father. I feel sorry for his wife, but what can a woman fighting for her life do?

Same deal with Tiger Woods. The mainstream media were slow to realize it was a real story, and the tabloids were ahead of them.

But when you are purposefully blind to the truth, then you tend to be late to the party.
