Is There Nothing That Obama Can't Do?

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!

Politico - Rush Limbaugh is not backing down from his claim that President Barack Obama is trying to score political points off the earthquake in Haiti.

New York Mag - President Obama to Write Newsweek's Haiti Cover Story.

In the wake of the Haiti earthquake Obama is illustrating what a true leader he is. As for Limbaugh, if given an enema, there would be nothing left of him.

What. You mean the lying Kenyan is hiring his old ghost writers again? Wellllll.....I guess that would be stimulus,of a sorts.

As a well-known and highly respected student of Haitian history and society, no doubt.

Rush, is that you?

"Everything this president sees is a political opportunity,"

Well, that's no surprise. Almost every politician on the planet is keenly tuned to "opportunity",that's what they're all about. Take our own Michael Ignatieff or Jack Layton..........please.

Perhaps it's Obama's light-skinned guilt for his slaver/slave owner ancestors, or maybe he's just a politician trying to do the best he can under the circumstances.

T- could you explain to me how Obama is showing leadership in this instance? It takes nothing to jump up and say 'How terrible! I insist we must help!'. That's called 'ambulance chasing' in other areas. Or opportunism to align oneself with trauma to show 'empathy'.

Hmm. How interesting. That's exactly what Obama has been accused of recently. Lack of leadership and lack of empathy - with regard to terrorism. He hasn't shown leadership in dealing with terrorism; his tactics have been to deny it as a reality!

And he certainly has been indifferent to jihadism both as an actuality and its effects - remember how he began his public comments on Ft. Hood with a 'shout out' to native Americans? Oh, and only then as an afterthought mentioned Ft. Hood? And urged people not to rush to a conclusion that Ft. Hood was a jihadist attack? And his remark that the Xmas bomber was not jihadist but 'an isolate extremist'?

Limbaugh is right; Obama is using Haiti to bolster Himself up - for Americans have been shocked by his head-in-the-imaginary-world denials of terrorism and his lack of empathy.

mojo - exactly right! Obama - heh - a well-known and respected expert on Haitian history and society. What a farce. And what cynical opportunism by Obama and the Democrats who run him.

how fast can Obama copy off his teleprompter?

the article will be called

"The Auducity of Hype"

Many years ago I was on a vacay in Jamaica and the paper had a story on the 20 billion USD in aid Jamaica had gotten over the years for roads, and nothing had been done ( obvious ) and the newspaper asked where the money went?

For the Haitian Poverty Pimp industry, this earthquake is a godsend of cash, Instead of the usual couple of billion a year, in cash to steal, now they can steal four billion, Why just the rebuilding with no rebar, sanded concrete, ghost buildings, will make millionaires ( Naturally this won't happen because lip-wrist, Toyota Land Cruiser Driving, Apple laptop multi-cult lefties doing their tourist poverty tour will take on Haitian contractors, thugs, mafia, labor unions, Just like they have in successful reclamation projects like Detroit, East St Louis, Oakland, NOLO )

",,,Obama is illustrating what a true leader he is."
Is he going to have a beer with Glover and Robertson in a snowbank on the White House lawn?
I missed that.

T, the first portion of your statement is such delicious satire that I must congratulate you

"Obama is illustrating what a true leader he is."

Oh my aching sides. If ever I feel down I just pop over to SDA and some goof like T posts a real side splitter and I feel much better. Like the old Readers Digest 'Laughter is Best Medicine'!

I'm waiting for the loaves and fishes thing from the great"0". Or the walk on water, summertime of course and without knowing where the rocks are.

Someone should tell Obama he won.

From going on Leno to this stunt, (was he on Oprah too?)

You know, just does not look very "presidential". Like he is still campaigning instead of leading.

Essay writers are the people trying to get their agenda done or to influence what policy they believe in. O is the agenda maker!

. Obama and the media are no doubt going to try and make this whole tragedy into one big "the One" circle jerk.

Possibly his first lady "Queen green thumb Latifah" can go over there and teach them some organic gardening skills.

So far today I've heard two development insiders/experts on Haiti admit that one of the major reason Haiti is a perpetual basketcase is... voodoo.

You see, Voodoo is a fatalistic "religion," so you figure trying to change your lot in life is futile etc.

But I don't expect anyone will be apologizing to Pat Robertson anytime soon.

Or mentioning how many millions of dollars he has and will send down there.

Even a stopped clock etc.

Barry jumped on the Haiti Refeif effort at the get-go so he could get some political spin.

Now that it is turning into a Group Cluster F#(K. he'll own it like the leftoids made Bush own Katrina.

And Barry needs to deflect away form the impending Coakley loss in the Senate.

a MAJOR defeat.

This guy does EVERYthing! Thank goodness he doesn't have any critical issues, which might distract him from completing this epic essay for Newsweek.

A few months ago I picked up a copy of Newsweek. It was the first time in decades that I had read it.

I was astonished at how overly left wing it had become. I was equally astonished to find people who denied that it was left wing, when the evidence seemed rather palpable.

Joe I'm a "goof", T is a witless knob who has very little to actually say. My sympathy goes out to his parents every time he opens his trap and exhibits what a poor job his momma did.

rabbit - it ain't just Newsweek. Thank heavens the National Post is still readable

Now, now... everyone listening to T is just feeding the troll. Clearly he's been paid to go on blogs and say "This proves how terrific Obama is and you should shut up."

Pretend it's not there, please. :)

Not meaning to downplay the obvious human tragedy, but before the earthquake, a big difference in economic conditions existed between Haiti and the country that shares the island ... the Dominican Republic.

It goes beyond the fact that many more Dominicans have played major league baseball.

Has ANY other president done something comparable? Doesn't he have enough to do? I'd love to hear from an insider (Secret Service, etc.) on the differences between O and other presidents.

This is a man who loves to hear himself.

"President Obama to Write Newsweek's Haiti Cover Story."

Whoa...He's resorting to lowering Himself to the level of an ink-stained wretch?? (heh, that's racist)
Is The One unable to convince the networks to pony up some primetime? I hear NBC has a slot open in the 10pm hour.

Very true rabbit. One of the biggest challenges we face is the "I'm a conservative but" crowd. This is simply a tactic to move the bar to the left and make conservatives "extreme" by their measure.

The thing is, socialist and communists understand that people don't want their crap; so, they attempt to disguise it and they claim that they are "fiscal conservatives" when they are not. In my view the largest failure of the right has been exposing the (wait for it) "hidden agenda" of the left. It is my view that this "hidden agenda" is so contrary to what Americans and Canadians want that average people have a hard time believing their politicians, friends and neighbours can really support such an anti-American/Canadian agenda.

The left has moved by stealth for my entire lifetime and only now, bolstered by elections and poll results have many socialists and communists come-out and divulged their true feelings towards capitalism, America, Israel, world government, population control, free speech, and any other number of leftarded views. We now live in the time where people like Castro and Marx are heralded as heroes publicly by the left. Hopefully the new boldness on the left will alert average Americans to the enemy within, but I doubt it. After all, if Joe The Plumber can catch Obama with his hand in the cookie jar and America still ignores it, I don’t know what it will take. My admiration for Americans and their resolve in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness has been shaken substantially. It is very difficult for me to admire people who so blatantly ignored all of the evidence presented foreshadowing policy direction. In my opinion, it is measure of the immaturity of the American electorate. Pathetic! It is very difficult for me to admire people who would so callously throw away so much of what their forefathers have built for them, and this is only year one. The scariest part of it all is that Americans might not have “blatantly ignored all of the evidence presented foreshadowing policy direction” but actually considered it ,and made a conscious choice to move away from the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.

WrongWayO: Red Rahm Alert.

Mass is not Haiti.

Will Ted be there with Martha to meet$greet O?

More: O's found "a buried lede" in the MSM. What's a lede?
...-

"Breaking: Obama may go to Massachusetts after all

Politico notices a buried lede in the Boston Globe’s morning report on the Massachusetts special election to replace Ted Kennedy in the Senate. With Haiti crumbling, a war to fight, and ObamaCare negotiations hitting a high-pressure point, Barack Obama could only offer a two-minute snoozefest of a web ad in support of Martha Coakley. Now it looks as though Rahm Emanuel may be sounding the red alert at the White House and get Obama on the ground in Massachusetts (emphases mine, h/t Geoff A):

The White House has shown increasing alarm about the race, with Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel placing calls to top Massachusetts Democrats to assess Coakley’s chances and weigh the costs and benefits of a potential Obama visit."

Remember, Obama won't be writing the Newsweek article. Obama hasn't written a thing, by himself, for many years. Even as 'editor' of the Harvard Law Review, a position where he was supposed to edit and write - he did neither, leaving it up to others.

Obama and the BackRoom Gang who run him have jumped on Haiti to offset the massive news and media articles and talk about Obama's lack of empathy towards Americans with regard to jihadist attacks, and his lack of leadership on this issue.

However, I suspect it won't work.

Kathy Shaidle - the 'voodoo' theme in Haiti, as causal of their poverty and dysfunction has LONG been debunked. It most certainly is a strongly emotional belief system, based around 'family spirits' - a very common belief system in kin-based societies, where family ties are the 'glue' that holds the population together. It's not a national ideology but a common belief system based around FAMILY spirits. Not common spirits.

To suggest that it causes the poverty is ignorant, and Mr. Robertson's statement is an example of that. The real cause of the dysfunctional Haiti is the economic and political infrastructure. This two-class structure and it's very real and very powerful, sets up a small, also kin-based elite, about 3% of the population as the only powers in the country. They own the land, the industries, the govt. They are primarily French-speaking.

The rest of the population has no power - and is not provided with the means to advance, for the elite do not provide a basic infrastructure. No schools (90% of education in Haiti is private, run externally and guess who can go?); no medical care, no regular water, hydro. No roads, no jobs..and remember, an economy requires roads and transportation. And so on. This population is Creole speaking - and kept out of power, uneducated and without any means to get out of this hole.

As I've said - just google 'elite in Haiti' and read, read what comes up. It's quite enlightening.

The international world has poured aid into Haiti for umpteen years, including tons from Canada. And guess what - still no schools, hospitals, doctors, roads, jobs....hmmm.

maz2 has his nose in the gluepot and is mazturbating again! Political strategy is not news. All politicians do it. Taking freerepublic at face value is like believing everything you read in a supermarket tabloid.

... and then he's writing up the next five SPMs for IPCC's ARs to 2025 ... whereupon he's spending the next couple of evenings tackling a complete simultaneous rewrite of the Bible, Qur'an and Bhagavad Gita ... to be followed up with some urgent clarifications (additions/deletions) that need to be addressed in the Constitution ... and then ...

Obama couldn't get rats to follow the pied piper.
Rush on the other hand could.

C'mon stirred, even you know that the supermarket tabloids are more accurate that the paper media and they get the scoop first.

How can Obama ( or his ghost writer ) write a piece on a event so recent the corpses are still warm???

what the ****???

It should read: Bill Ayers is going to write the Hatian cover story for Newsweek. Obama doesn't know the difference between "doorstop" and "doorstep" (check Hot Air's Obamateurism)

O's Hope: Fear has the lead; by an O'myOmy.

O's face mask has been ripped off by reality; mugged is O.

Now, O's wine of Hope and Change has turned sour.

"The candidate of hope and change has now become a president of fear and doubt. This is hampering the economy and the American people's sense of security."
...-

"Fear Factor

The ideologues in Washington are scaring Americans.

The candidate of hope and change has now become a president of fear and doubt. This is hampering the economy and the American people's sense of security.

The fear factor manifests itself in several ways. Consider what was formerly known as the “war on terror.” Whatever the president wants to call it these days, we’re losing. This is a scary thought. It’s deeply frightening when an al-Qaeda operative nearly blows up an airliner filled with American citizens, over an American city. Yet when that same terrorist gets treated like someone who just robbed a bank, the people's fear becomes widespread doubt – skepticism emerges about this administration’s capacity and commitment to protect its people.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is a terrorist and enemy combatant, not a common criminal. He should not enjoy the constitutional protections belonging to American citizens. Period. Allowing the military to hold and interrogate him could have yielded critical real-time intelligence about persons and plans to kill more Americans. We missed that opportunity and now could pay a catastrophic price.

Unfortunately, Mr. Obama seems like a naïve college professor, more committed to a theoretical ideal of preserving Miranda rights than to defending America."

It looks like Obama is recruiting George W. Bush and Bill Clinton to manage Haiti's recovery and rebuilding efforts.

http://www.nationalpost.com/news/world/story.html?id=2446387

This is good news because Bush and Clinton can get along - and Obama knows this, they both are solid leaders, and Bush is an excellent organizational manager (in spite of what people say about Katrina).

Political motives and psychological profiling aside, Obama and Stephen Harper have done an excellent job so far in helping the people of Haiti through this tragedy.

Remarking that the disaster in Haiti is terrible isn't leadership but parroting what a thinking, feeling human being has been saying all week.
Just my thoughts.

"When the rioting crowds broke into Papa Doc's tomb, they found it - empty. Now, in a country that's 90% Catholic and 110% weird Voudoun sects, this is NOT a good thing..."

Kathy Shaidle has a legitimate comment on the influence of religion on the Haitian population. We see similar influences in the news, every day. The clash between Christianity, and African beliefs, morphed into a terrible product.

The same thing happened when American Indians were converted to Christianity. The influence of their traditional religions resulted in some very messed up cultures. The use of scare tactics on people who had previously worshipped somewhat benevolent Gods, caused deep confusion in the population.

I don't mind sending aid to Haiti, if it'll keep more of them from moving here.

End quote:=================

Can you feel me sticking pins in my wee little Kathy doll? Just kidding.

Why didn't Obama part the sea so the aid could be trucked in unpeded from the forces of nature?

He did, you just missed it Rose.

syf:

Yes, it's clearly more than baseball. GDP per capita in the DR is more than $5,000 US, according to the IMF, while Haiti's is $971.

It has a population of less than 9 million, and Canada gives it over $100 million a year, ever since Ms. Jean became G-G. Why do we keep throwing money down ratholes?

Am I the only one that noticed that Barry picked two former presidents that he loaths to be the US point men on the Haitian relief effort?

It all works, he gets to shine as the guy who picked them. The effort goes down the toilet and he gets to blame a Clinton AND a Bush.

Best of all possible worlds.

Doesn't Obama have a brother living in a 6 by 10 foot hut in Kenya?

"Never waste a good crisis"

atlantic jim - you are absolutely right. Neither Clinton nor Bush could refuse; they had to accept, and Obama gets the credit if they succeed, and they get the blame if they fail.

That's the Obama Way.

President Obama to Write Newsweek's Haiti Cover Story.

Sniff sniff. Do I smell a Pulitzer or maybe another Nobel, this time for literature.
If it wasn't so sickeningly possible it might be funny.

Pulitzer....and if Sydney Crosby gets hurt a potential Stanley Cup.

Dean.At one tme it was a thingie used in a gun to stop people like Hitler etc.But sigh, now here since Turdeau,it is something that some use to line birdcages. That is why we have hellholes like Haiti,Cuba,North Korea, etc. The ancients were wise, but nobody listened.
