These whachos really have no instinct of self-preservation.
That incident in the Gulf where the eco-freaks rammed the ice floe with sealers on it.....don't they realize that standard equipment of the sealers are highly accurate and very lethal .222 Rem rifles.
Most are unaware that for the longest time that in the north the #94 Winchester in 30.30 was the most popular-----probably because it was marginally effective against Ursus Marinus and was ambi-dextrous (high incidence of left-handers in the Inuit). Then the .222 Rem cartidge appeared...and was swiftly adopted by the unuit....and any other sealers.
I recall a conversation with an inuit and asking what practical value a .222 would have against Nanook....he laughed and said just don't shoot him in the head......
Who carries the insurance? They are not going to be pleased about the kids sinking the boat. Biodiesel was hard to find? The boat was a piece of crap? The video is going to make it hard to collect insurance. Maybe I'll go hunt for coins in snowbanks to support the cause...Naw.
Well now, after seeing the split videos it really did seem like the whalers turned into the Ady Gil.
Now we know why ?
Good Job Kate.
Man, I tell ya'll what, that 2 1/2 week vacation from everything did wonders for my attitude. The only problem now is this S. Louisiana 14 degree weather. My outside dogs are having a hard time of it. I did double their rations, ;-)
,
Looks to me like Ady Gil fired on the Japanese boat with an arrow (wtf is that about, eh?) and then rammed the Japanese ship. Just before impact you can see Ady Gil making wake to her stern, looks like buddy put the engine on hard.
But if the Japanese captain ran them down, that's good too.
Looks to me like the collision could have been very easily prevented. All the Greenpeacers had to do was turn to starboard and advance the throttle.
It doesn't look like the whaler is on a collision course, and you can see the wake from the GP as they deliberately move closer to scrape along the side of the larger ship. When you're at sea,in a pleasure craft size boat, you give way to the big, unmanoeuverable ships.
"This is one of the most absurd media releases I have seen this clown issue in years,” said Captain Paul Watson."
And I wish everyone who reports on Greenpeace would quit referring to this clown as a ship's Captain, a hard earned title that requires extensive study, experience, and knowledge. Watson is a "Captain" in the style of the skipper of the "Minnow", not a real Captain, and closer intellectually to the skipper's "little buddy".
wasn't it Carl Marx that said they would work diligently to their own destruction? Or maybe that was Groucho,,,,or Harpo?? It's confusing when you're laughing so hard.
Hey arrows are environmental! - they're not propelled by evil gunpowder right?
~Agent Smith
Nice graphite shafts those plastic fletched and nocked arrows have.
We're still making graphite out of carbon aren't we?
One would think that real environmentalists would use wooden shafted feather fletched bone nocked arrows just like Kevin Costner would.
The second video would have been better if, instead of hosing the Greenpieces again, the Japs had heaved barrels of oily whale guts down on them at their departure.
So if the Sea Shepherds are not going to protect the whales from illegal hunting, who will?
People bitch about the Sea Shepherd people, but they exist because of the void left by the rest of us who couldn't care less if the oceans are plundered.
Unlike the global warming pack of lies, the decline of many fish species in the ocean is *real*, it's measurable, and the data is based on sound science.
We have only ourselves to blame when radical environmentalists end up doing the job that our governments are not prepared to do.
In one of the videos the Ady Gil is shown shining a laser at the Japanese vessel videoing it.
That, by itself, is illegal in many countries, including Canada. The use of a green laser rather than a red one also shows intent to maim.
When will we or the Japanese treat pirates as they should be treated?
"And while two wrongs don't make a right, three wrongs break a tie!"
Yeehaw I'm Kate and I think this is a witty and catchy saying that I've made up here. This is the good ole kinda banter a lady like maself comes up with while livin in the sticks. Yessereee. Never went to university, and i repeatedly imply that's it's stupid and unecessary on ma blog cause it makes me feel better about my insecurity in this regard. I did do an online mensa test though and it said I was real smart. Now I post the icon proudly on my web page in lieu of a real accredation. I dislike Muslims and Native people, and if it weren't for those annoying hate speech laws I'd be much more vocal about it. To me the world is nothin' but black and white. In fact I'm such an ideolouge and the idea of lumping ideas into certain camps that I will never accept that a car can be powered by anything but petroleum. Yeaahaw y'all! Im off to paint cartoon characters on motorcycle helmets!
In the Wikipedia article on Paul Watson it is stated that he worked as a deck hand.
He's no more a Captain than is Michael Ignatieff.
Ships' officers are certified by various cooperating international bodies, and advancement beyond - well - deck hand or motorman or whatever - requires the applicant to pass written and oral examinations and to have set amounts of experience in their positions. To become a chief engineer requires the mastery of a shelf of books, and LOTS of experience on a variety of craft. The requirements for captaincy are no doubt of similar extent.
In my somewhat expert opinion the only thing the arrows pictured would be good for is collecting dead specimens of certain members of the squirrel family. I would say that blunts or judo's would be a better selection over TARGET points.
So the water cannon blast from the bow must be intended to make the bat boat change course. But the blast from the stern after contact has been made must have been just for laughs. Good one.
Look at the wake at the very end of the collision video - the whaler was in a left turn to evade the Sea Shepherd twits; it was the whaler that was rammed by the Ady Gil. If someone was firing arrows at me, though, I ram the b@st@rds.
To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
~Willie Shakespeare
Looks to me like the Japs thought suffering slings and arrows wasn't too noble at all.
Plus, as big as the ocean is, the Green Piecers were stalkers so fair thee well to their means of stalking, if only those madly motivated had marry a met their means.
Rather than worrying about the arrows (since there is no video showing the eco twits shooting them,) I would be far more concerned about the green laser which was aimed to blind. if someone were doing that to my crew, I would - err, well, ram them. Let them eat ice.

Does anybody on that tub even have a master's license?
"I'd gladly pay money to see the Sea Shepherd goofs get run over again. "
I'd posted that video before, but the pleasure-seeking part of me demanded it be seen again.
What I meant that I'd gladly give money to the Sea Shepherd Society if they'd go out, get a new boat, and get run over again.

The Usual Suspects have infinitely more concern over a dead whale or polar bear than over an aborted human being. That speaks volumes, eh?!
I'm going to use that two/three statement in the future!
Gotta love the Oz editorial... it was all Captain Jack Sparrow's fault. They should put a price on his head... ahhh, never mind. Pass the grog, eh.

Better get a Mercury outboard for their next high-tech Trimaran "speed" boat.

Terry B @3:35 - is that you, Warren (you witty devil you!)?
So, Terry... how much are your parents paying for that Concordia "education"?
It's not so much rules. It's more like guide lines.
