I Can See Bill O'Reilly From My House

Like they're not making enough money already....

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Sara Palin on FNC will justify the extra $5 I have to fork over to Rogers for the 'news media' pak.

It isn't fair. Fox has more viewers than the other 3 combined. Good thing CRTC won't let us watch or they would be through the roof.

Fixing the problem will be Obama's next adventure.

Good for Sarah, a paid platform to do some ripping and sawing into the seething mass corruption and incompetence that is the Democratic Party and the rest of the MSM.

Maybe we'll see Palin & Coulter tag teaming interviews with Leftoids.

Pure entertainment.

Shaw Cable came to my door last week begging for business. While looking at their brochure, I noticed Fox News can only be subscribed to if you take 2+ "Specialty Channels" with it, channels no one wants. In other words, a penalty for watching the unwashed Fox News. Only in Canada.

That's good news that she's going to be on there. I enjoy listening to what she has to say. It would be so nice to have a Fox Canada. Sigh!!

Pat, what is wrong with the CBC?

LOL

Pat, what is wrong with the CBC?

LOL

Smitherenzes:

You can get FoxNews in Canada - I have it on my satelite. I agree with PhilM though - this will make the extra 5$ a month even more worth it!

I'm reading her book right now and am looking forward to seeing more of her on Fox.

Interesting article here on Roger Ailes:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/10/business/media/10ailes.html?hp

Although it's the New York Times, where truth is not the only consideration in reporting, so take it with a grain of salt.

Good on Sarah Palin!
Sarah Palin, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, geez if we could get Kate McMillan into that mix, EH?

Canadian MSM pooh-bahs cannot wrap their heads around the fact that a National conservative voice in Canada such as FOX Cable in the US, could be a true money maker for them.
I could not get Canadian viewership numbers for O'Reilly on FOX at 8 pm eastern, but I suspect its greater than than watch CTV and CBC combined in Canada at that hour.

Personally I dropped CNN from my bundle and opted for FOX as soon as the CRTC gave us permission to watch FOX legally in Canada a couple of years ago.

Yay!

This is also great news for j-school grads. The other networks will each hire a dozen or so 'fact checkers' to dissect every Palin show.

Did you read the comments on the first link? Trademark liberal groupthink. Anyone getting their news from anywhere BUT Fox is tragically uninformed.

Watching for the lefties' heads to explode in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

Palin/Huckabee in 2012

The only reason I have Shaw Cable is so I can also pay that extra 5 buck rip-off for two useless channels in order to get FOX NEWS.

Fox has Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin.CNN has Joy Behar and Anderson Cooper, nuff said.

Sounder, when Fox News came to Canada a few years back, I too was quite suspicious of the 2+ channel requirement to subscribe to Fox News. But, I can confirm, through direct correspondence with Fox News at the time, that this directive comes from Fox News. They didn't explain why, and I am honestly still puzzled by it. But, it is not a Shaw issue. Shaw is simply complying with the requirements set forth by FNC to air their content.

And AC on CBS 60 Minutes!

This will force Leftists to watch Fox just so that they might try to find fault with Sarahcuda.

It's funny.
They might learn something.

Yay!!!!!

If it wasn't enough to have someone on SDA suggest that I watch CBC, when I got off the floor and regained my composure and scolled down, THERE IT WAS AGAIN!!!

In the words of my mentor and personal hero, Rodney Dangerfield, "I just don't get any respect" lol

This is priceless!
I don't watch Leno but about three weeks ago while scrolling I paused when I heard Sarah Palin's name mentioned. It was a lame, gratuitous 'joke' that fizzled.
And so is his career.
Her star is rising and his is falling.
There is a God in Heaven.

Correct me if I am wrong LC, but I was under the impression j-school grads didn't know how to operate a computer, hence; the 'fact checkers' would be IT guys and the 'spinners for the fact checkers' would be j-school grads, eh ?

And, not NO to Huckabee, but HELL NO.

This will really get the lefties' panties in a knot.

Olbermann will make her Worst Person In The World five straight times. Sports Guy is so imaginative.

Two great things about the ratings. Olbermann doesn't even beat Nancy Grace, and Rachel Maddow loses to Joy Rehab, and her useless show just started!

Now that is priceless!

This is great news - I will look forward to seeing more of this incredible lady. It will be nice to see the former Governor of the largest state asking the questions. I wonder how many of her guests will be capable of identifying the Aleutian Islands never mind the proximity of the Islands to Russia. Most people do not know that the Japanese invaded the Aleutian Islands during WWII; I wonder if Katie Kookic knows that Russia and Japan are only a few miles from each other, I wonder if the msm talking heads know that the world is round.

Redemption.

Is Palin the best the Right can offer? Oh, wait, she's righteously indignant enough in a folksy aw-shucks "grass roots" way, and spouts the usual bitterness packaged up as "caring for America". Where are the smart (-er than anyone on all the other channels) righties hiding? It's embarassing...

Seems fair. Democrats own the Oval and all the other offices and Fox owns the public.

If she was smart, (and I know she's not stupid), she would spend about 5-10 years as a contributor - rake in the dough, let the kids get used to the media spotlight, let them get older and leave home etc, then she could successfully re-enter the political ring without the 2009 baggage and with that broadcast experience.

That's my prediction.

I dropped Shaw and switched to Telus Tv because I can get Fox in the regular news channel package, Shaw keeps calling me to see if I will re-subscribe and I keep telling them that I will never subscribe to them until they include Fox with their regular news package.

Nice to see Palin get a job on Fox News. Not nice enough to get me to actually watch TV, but nice.

That link to the daily TV stats was a real eye-opener though, eh? FNC is up over 400 to 600 in every time slot, -none- of the rest even break 250.

Can you imagine what CNN staff meetings must look like? Dumb and dumber springs to mind.

^Somewhere in Toronto, a person forgot to take his meds. Symptomatic is his inability to coherently attack any positions Palin has espoused, instead defaulting to personal attack.

Chicken Big
I thought your post was with tongue in cheek, maybe more so with head in butt?

Chicken Big clucks: "Is Palin the best the Right can offer?"

No. But it seems she's more than good enough to get your knickers in a twist, eh? Probably because she points at people like you and snickers, same as I do.

BTW Chicken, if she's such a light weight why is it the entire American media establishment is still obsessed with destroying her? The election was over more than a year ago, Barry has boomed and busted already, but all any of you Lefties can talk about is Sarah Palin.

I agree with Erik @ 4:03; and there are other things she can do as well to pad her resume. She has lots of time.

CBC Newsworld just mentioned this story. They also had a banner that said,Palin joins 'gotcha' media. F'en incredible. FIRE.THEM.ALL.

Try freetubetv.net and watch fox for free and no bs from shaw

I think Oprah's feeling a little nervous...

AWESOME.
I bet fifty quatloos on the newcomer.
If I was Sarah Palin, I would end my segment by putting my feet on the news desk and lighting a cigar with a one hundred dollar bill I got from selling my book.
That's just me, however.
It's a good move for Fox as Mrs. Palin is quite the headturner politically and aesthetically. Now SHE controls the airwaves. Up your nose, Anderson Cooper and Katie Couric!

Correct me if I am wrong LC, but I was under the impression j-school grads didn't know how to operate a computer, hence; the 'fact checkers' would be IT guys and the 'spinners for the fact checkers' would be j-school grads, eh ?

The IT guys are too expensive, they have marketable skills.

I would think the young j-schoolers are computer literate but fact checking must be an elective course that very few take and even fewer pass. Luckily, in progressive TV-land that is an asset not a liability.

President Obama should enact legislation forcing Fox to share revenue with other broadcasters.

We have revenue sharing in professional sports, and here in Canada (look North,"O")our "have " Provinces gladly share tax revenue with "have not" Provinces.

That's why we Canadians are always SO happy and smiling!

A gig on Fixed Noise with the rest of the retread republican has-beens. Did I call that one or what?

Come on, people.

It's not that I don't like Sarah Palin; I do (and if anything ever happens to Todd, and she moves in next door, I'd be delirious), but she really isn't equipped for the Presidency at this time.

Nixon was bright in some ways, but he surrounded himself with bad people, perhaps due to paranoia after JFK stole the 1960 election. Ford was an amiable placeholder, and Carter was a disaster who figured out how to work the new primary system before anyone else did. Reagan may not have been the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he had unwavering moral courage. Bush I was actually a very bright guy undone by poor public speaking. Slick Willy was the exact opposite of Reagan - very bright (you don't get to be a Rhodes Scholar by accident) with no moral compass whatsoever. Bush II was also a smart guy (they don't hand out Harvard MBA's like Crackerjacks), but he had the misfortune of being elected at the absolute zenith of the American century, and he suffered from events beyond his control.

We all know what a disaster Bambam is, and will be for the next three years. But Sarah is not the answer.

She would have been a great president in, say, the 1950's. But, today, as America's importance in the world wanes (it's quite likely that in 10 years, China will have the world's largest GDP and the world's strongest currency), it needs a President who will address the biggest issues and tell the hard truths that Americans need to hear. Sarah did none of that while governor of Alaska, and I haven't heard her say anything at any time that gives me confidence she'll do it as president.

I wish her all the best at Fox, but I truly fear that over-exposure will heighten awareness of her flaws, and diminish her strengths.

I bet 200 quatloos that CNN will LOSE more market share.

Sarah Palin & Thomas Sowell in 2012 !!

Don't know Phil, don't pay attention to you.

I get Fox news on Bell. I was watching a recording of Glenn Beck from last week and was surprised to see an ad for a CBC program on it. Even the CBC knows Canada is watching Fox news.

As much as I would like to see Sarah succeed, I'm just not so sure that commentary is her forte'. I watched all her interviews on Fox and to my liking she too often appealed to 'self evident truth'. The trouble is that it's not self evident truth and the MSM wants to keep it that way! What she seemingly lacks was what Regan had and that was a compact communication style that exposed the lie. His "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" is a prime example. While Sarah's, "Well common sense tells you...". The fact is that common sense is only common amongst those who think as you do. For anyone with a different mind set 'common sense' tells them something different.

congrat's to her!!!

As i said before she would make a great side kick to a far right leaning president period ...she is smart ,good looking ,and very personable so i think she would be great for the job of senator.
