Posts by BruceR. (Canada's best informed and most analytical milblogger), Terry Glavin and Damian Brooks are sort of brought together here at The Torch, with Michael Yon as a particular, er, target:
Afstan: Most recent Canadian deaths: "For shame"/Update: Our media and "hoo-hah"
Mr Glavin makes an especially important point: "This is war. Get used to it." And I wrote a minor porkie.
More on Mr Yon:
The long arm of Stephen Harper's law?

"So while the Canadian media needs to take a long-overdue look in the mirror over how they cover the CF, the Canadian public should do a bit of soul-searching too." --- Great article, but to the above quote,I really don't believe that many Canadians have much soul anymore. I don't mean the religious, godly soul, but the parts to look outside their own sphere and condemn wrongs. We have become a nation of the soft soled, and the self-centered.Sacrifice is for other people. Thousands of the next generation are glowing with pride today because they pushed a 'join' button on a facebook page. They do not know or care to know about the realities of war,or responsibility. Unfortunately, our media caters to them and feed off their ignorance and our money.
Point made on Adler show today.
The Liberals point-men on Afstan are former NDP premiers — Ussal Dossanj and Bob Rae.
Is it any wonder Canadians are yawning at the alleged issue.
At Belmont Club political correctness is dead.
More, please.

"His [Brooks'] feigned urbanity smells of fear. The enemies of American smell it on him, smell it on Obama."
"17. Morton Doodslag:
Grand Poobah David Brooks clinging to his blackberry and his New York Times…
I was shocked when I read this op-ed. The phrase “public shift” is a mean spirited euphemism for “reactionary response among the unwashed rabble”.
This usage reveals how parochial his view really is, and how much Brooks and his nervous herd are feeling besieged these days.
It hasn’t occurred to them yet, despite their shining intellects and brilliant oversized Ivy League brains that their encirclement is completely their own unforced error, the result of mounting colossal blunders, complete misappraisals of affairs and enemies, and a general misreading of reality.
His feigned urbanity smells of fear. The enemies of American smell it on him, smell it on Obama.
If this nation is forced to suffer for the egregious unforced errors by this radical administration and their burping chorus of toads in the Media and Academy, then I hope this cabal of scum pays the price in full measure for their foolishness, their hubris, and their deep betrayal of The People."

The Harper-Yon connection must be true. I read it on a blog.

It would be comforting to know not jusr suspect that in the US that the CIA/NSA knows/knew and has briefed the administrations past and present that the CO2 AGW was a scam/hoax.
I suspect that is also true in Canada, although the leftist entrenched Environment Canada may have crippled that capability.
One the other hand, it would mean that the US administration and to a lessor effect the Canadian Government have not been dupped but are active, knowing assessories to the criminal conspiracy.....
Although it is apparent that Obama is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.....it is more logical that he is a quisling and an enemy of the people.....although Harper's actions have been a disappointment to many of us.....there is the reality that he is practicing real-politic----politics IS the art of the possible...
Just prior to Copenhagen, I e-mailed Harpert recommending no participation in COP15, returning to Canada, renting some Anitovs and bringing the Canadian military(especially tanks) home from A-stan ASAP and deploying them about Fort McMurray and then, and only then, closing the valves and opening the switches....that's real-politic.
Niiice find, Maz2. That's some classy name calling there. ~:D "Burping chorus of toads" ranks right up there for high quality mean.
I'm stealing that.
Now as to Stevie Harper dropping a dime on Michael Yon with the US Border Patrol? Impossible.
I can believe Harper might call somebody to hassle Yon (hey, he's a politician), but I can't believe the US Border Patrol would be able to carry out such an instruction on command. That clown circus couldn't organize a two man rush on a three hole outhouse.
Nope, Yon didn't bow and scrape quick enough, plain and simple.
Hubby noted that Mr. Yan seems to focus constantly on himself and not on the issues at hand. Me me they me me me, I got arrested me me me me.
I do not need to know how big the gawd damn bomb was that killed our troops, I'm sure the Taliban really appreiciate that kind of free intel from urnalists thou, I do not need to know any detail that will place our troops in danger. The only people who benifit from tell all journalism is our enemy, treat those kinds of urnalists with utter contempt.
sometimes I wish blogosphere posters with high audience ratio would set aside all the oblique commentary and just state the facts as they know them. might be easier to follow the story that way.
p.s. don't forget, homeland security was the invention of george dubya. it appears to have become a perpetual motion machine.
Stephen Harper makes laws? I thought he just took vacations.
