Happy New Year everyone! Castro may believe he's #1 in 2010 (and every year down to his immaculate birth) but the real newsmaker this year is going to be Ayatollah Khamenei.

If he survives and maintains power through increasingly vicious oppression, my money's on Iran testing it's first nuclear tipped long range missile on Tel Aviv before 2010 is done. That could be the end of Iran too and the start of $200 oil. Couple that with America's huge growing debt and you'll get a depression that'll suck the air out of every environmental cause to ever grace the pages of the Toronto Star.
