Why, such a thing is hard to believe;
A group representing dozens of lawn care companies trying to bring charges against Ontario's environment minister and senior bureaucrats over the province's controversial pesticide ban is now calling for charges against 23 activists.
Group spokesman Jeffrey Lowes of MREP Communications said Wednesday that information has been laid for criminal charges against 23 individuals.
[...]
The documents filed on Tuesday allege the activists knowingly presented false and misleading information about the health and environmental risks associated with pesticide products, knowingly misled the public, lawn care industry and government officials, and impeded access to Health Canada approved pesticide products through fraudulent means.
The legal manoeuvre, if endorsed by the court, could result in federal charges being filed against Gerretsen and others by police or by a private individual, and there may be sufficient grounds for a criminal charge of fraud, Lowes said.

I sure hope they do it before the dandelion replaces the trillium as Ontario's provincial flower, and beofre the white grub or gypsy moth replaces the beaver as our national animal.
Good Lord, this is wonderful news! Can you imagine what this means? Suzuki, Gore, and every other activist who said 'the end justifies the means' probably just shat themselves.
Sure...endorsed by the courts!
This I gotta see!
Typical result when politicos jump on a perceived popular bandwagon, all the while ignoring the facts. See: Global Warming/Climate Change, H1N1, DDT...
Wonderful! This is quite the fitting story coupled with the other great news developing around the big wig eco-goons.

What a great few days.

What a joyous week.
Gotta agree with Grok. When will the lawsuits start to fly against Saint Al and Suzuki. Of course we could try to sue the mastermind, Chairman Mo. But I don't think he will ever return from the workers paradise. It would probably go before a liarberal judge who he had appointed anyways.
I will be watching that closely and charge the climate fraudsters in Peel region for the surcharge "to combat global warming" that they extort from residents for several years now.
i can't WAIT to hear roger the shrubber's take on this initiative....
I read at Junk Science several years ago that Japan uses per acre (IIRC) four times more pesticides than the U.S. (and presumably Canadian numbers would be similar). The enviro nuts praise Japan's healthy-eating lifestyle that has them live longer than we fat North Americans, but seem to have overlooked that they aren't being ravaged by pesticide-caused illness. Cherry picking at its finest. ($150/quart, blemish-free, perfect, Japanese cherries, of course.)
and mandarin oranges! pesticide free?
My theory, Andy, is that the Japanese stay trim because they really don't like raw fish either, but are too embarassed to say.
Paging Davy Suck-zuki, are you ready for court?
Well if this works, think of the possibilities for the IPCC reports that we now find out aren't based on peer reviewed science but rather use Greenpeace, World Wildlife Federation and numerous other assorted greenie jihadi organizations as the "source" of the their "science'
One of the biggest examples of loss of freedoms, shoddy legislation and abuse of decent citizens is the Firearms Act and the resulting waste of billions of dollars called the Registry.
I hope these activists get hammered for their actions.
Send the statist bastards to jail!! I love it.
Davers
[....I sure hope they do it before the dandelion replaces the trillium as Ontario's provincial flower, and before the white grub or gypsy moth replaces the beaver as our national animal.]
I was amazed at the speed the weeds/pests over-ran my grass-sward....tent caterpillars....ugh!
Actually the much heralded Japanese fish diet seems to result in less heart disease (not confirmed but alleged) however Japanese are world leaders for STROKE.
Curious...
The firearms registry etc leaves me with a moral dilema....
How is a woman who has been raped and murdered...morally superior to the woman standing over a dead attacker with a smoking handgun?
If handguns are not defensive...howcum when the cops show up to do some serious shooting they bring shotguns, rifles, assault rifles....
The big problem is that our politicians continue to ignore it. I think Harper is doing the best he can at the G8 meetings going on in Devos at this time. I think he is sending a message that he knows this is a crock of Bull but he has to be diplomatic. Who knows what he is saying to some leaders when the cameras and microphones are turned off.
Great post,as usual, Ms.McMillan!
Just one more nail in the coffin of the con artists and gangsters who have tried so hard to literally take over the world, enrich them selves, and regulate or tax us to death!
"Knowingly mislead the public"! Hang 'em, Judge.
So, when to Mossberg, Remington and Glock get to sue Wendy Cukier and the entire Canadian MSM? That would really be something, eh?

Sasquatch,
What's the dilemma?
I really hope they make the criminal charges stick as there isn't a shred of scientific evidence to support these morons.
My yard is managed without pestcides 99% of the time but I'm damn well going to use them when I need them. I like having parasitic wasps around and ladybugs do a great job on aphids. When fruit trees get infested, it's time to blast the larvae with whatever happens to be around including some ancient DDT.
Roundup is great stuff and toxic only to organisms that make amino acids through the shikimate pathway (perhaps this tells us that the greens are in actuality mobile plants if they're so terrified of the stuff). I've begun using it by the gallon to keep down weeds.
One thing I find puzzling is why pure nicotine is no longer available as a pesticide. I remember having a quart bottle of the stuff that I bought 35 years ago and it was a great pesticide. The bottle of nicotine seems to have disappeared during one of the numerous moves I've made during that time and I get blank looks every time I go to a garden store and ask if they sell nicotine.
Thus far the environmental and regulatory extremists haven't been challenged and if a few of them end up going to jail over this perhaps we'll see fewer idiots trying to ban things they don't like for some reason. I'd love to see Kooky Wendy doing prison time along with the CMAJ editors who trotted out "peer reviewed" junk science papers every time there was a crucial vote on C-68 in the mid 1990's.
I hope they jail that fatuous, slimey, lying, belly crawling, idiotic, @#$%, $%$#, $%#$%%, waste of skin and air, McGuinty.
Great News! Now I won't have to continue to drive over the river to Michigan to buy my stash. One day when I was picking some up at Lowe's, I paused and thought just how rediculous it was that a bag of Weed-&-Feed is considered contraband in Ontario.
For those fellow Ontarians, ever wonder why the grass on your municipal building's lawns, Government Offices and even Queen's Park are so nice and weed-free? That's because they are exempt from the ban. Talk about two-faced McSquinty. Total A-Hole!
PS- Look closely at the legislation. It is illegal to sell or apply it. It is still legal to be in posession of it. Govern yourselves accordingly, if you know what I mean.
loki, you've brought back memories, I tell ya!
Used to wake up in the morning and dust cabbage with tobacco powder. Or was it some other vegetable? Too long ago it was.
What? Junk scientists lied to us?
Oh the humanity!
How much crap is pumped into the air, water and soil by China but if ONE homeowner uses a store-bought weed-killer, someone will go after him?
Really!
"I've begun using it by the gallon to keep down weeds."
Wow loki. How much of the stuff do you use the other 1% of the time?
Same ol, same ol. Progressives obsessed with telling others what to do. The problem is, there's always some a$$hole who doesn't like what you're doing. So "do-gooders",guess what? They'll come for you soon enough, something about "feeding a hungry croc...".
As far as jail time for the culprits, I suspect some good ol'fashoned "rehabilitation" should straighten these people out, and provide a strong deterrent for any others that wish participate in the same shenanigans.
There have been over 40,000 studies conducted on pesticides and NONE of them concluded they were harmful if used in the prescribed manner. This includes studies conducted by UCLA Berkley of all places and the World Health Organisation. So where is the threat to public safety?
What Greg said.
It is time to fight back! Push back time.
Just think of all the Environmental Studies Graduates that are coming out of university, the majority can only be employed by gov. They will need something to do and that will be to control our lives. I hope they all end up at MacDonald's...
Do these guys need money? Do they give tax receipts?
I wish them godspeed.
Forbes Magazine recently named Monsanto "Company of the Year". If you read some of the comments on this article you can hear the poison dripping from the environuts fangs:

What all of you, loki et al, above said.
It is high time to charge and jail all these frauds.
when does Lizzard Mays trial start?????
Trial by ordeal, I'd suggest. She does weigh the same as an oil-spill-covered duck, doesn't she? She is quackers, after all.
Surely what they have done -- and the climate alarmists also -- is akin to yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre.
Indiana Homez:
Wow loki. How much of the stuff do you use the other 1% of the time?
After researching roundup I decided to use it on a regular basis (pesticides I find I need to use only very rarely). Roundup has finally (I hope and will only know this spring) dealt with a problem Russian olive that has proven almost impossible to eradicate. I trimmed it down to a stump and forgot about it for a while and next thing I know I've got shoots coming up 100' away and profuse growth from the stump which was quite impressive as I forgot about it for only 2 months. After getting about a pickup load of leaves and stems and multiple puncture wounds through my heavy leather gloves I poured a gallon or more of roundup onto the stump and I've got lots more if it survives the winter.
Glyphosate is a simple compound that is toxic only to growing plants and breaks down fast. My main concern initially was that it would affect my garden but I've found you can just spray it on plants that you don't want and the ones you do happen to want just beside them are unaffected. Still like using my Stihl weedwhacker late in the summer. Pulling dandelions is no longer fun but the novelty of spraying them with roundup hasn't worn off yet.
This uneducated, self-interested bunch is unbelievable. I assumed the Neanderthals were extinct. I was wrong! They deny global warming and no doubt believe the Earth is flat. Herbicides were invented for use on the battlefield and similar chemicals were used in concentration camps to kill millions. These idiots think pesticides are safe enough to eat for breakfast. There were already two lawsuits against bans on cosmetic pesticides and they were thrown out by the courts in Canada. The chances of this action going through is very weak. Senior government officials are protected from actions of this kind. This gang is working hard to produce colourful newsletters, everyone of them with half-naked beautiful girl with big tits. How many women with any brains would support this kind of crap! I met a widow of a pesticide applicator on a holiday. She told me that her husband ate herbicide 2,4-D to prove that it was safe. I asked her what became of him. She said with the utmost contempt that he had dropped dead many years ago.
There are plenty of studies showing pesticides are toxic poisons. They cause/contribute to various types of cancer, Parkinson's, diabetes, birth defects, retardation in children, inability for the body to resist diseases, and sterility (inability to have children). Anybody who denies this is a misguided fool. When herbicides are used in combinations, these go untested, even though they are likely to have a reinforcing effect. The so-called "inerts" are trade secret, now believed not in the least "inert". These "inerts" may amount to a very large portion of the ready-to-apply pesticide.
"Junk science" is junk. When the results of proper scientific experiments are inconvenient to someone he calls these results "junk science" (e.g. tobacco companies used this stupid expression in the past and don't dare to use it now!). Real junk science is never called "junk science" and it should be. 45,000 studies prove pesticides safe? This is utter crap. Pesticides are toxic poisons and have been employed in warfare. Pesticides are safe when used as directed? When used as directed pesticides kill, as intended. Using pesticides as directed protects the applicator. It doesn't protect children walking beside a sprayed lawn, with residues of pesticides and their breakdown products penetrating their brains via inhalation, while bypassing the liver which is the cleansing organ.
One dummy is bemoaning restriction on the use of nicotine in gardening. Nicotine kills bees which are pollinating agents. We would starve to death without bees. Bees are dying and disappearing, so we better take notice and do something about this or else will be in deep trouble. As to Monsanto, they are famous for harassing farmers; they want seed sale monopoly. Monsanto promotes GMOs and GMOs are turning out to be bad news.
