[T]he Build-A-Bear empire sweeps across nearly every state and into 17 other countries. You’ll find their outlets in shopping malls everywhere and even some ballparks. The company also has a website called Build-A-Bearville.com where children can play an interactive video game that, on it’s surface, is unlikely to raise suspicion or sound alarms.
But when your unsuspecting tot logs on and hops a virtual train to the North Pole…you should know that he or she will be informed — by Santa Claus — that Christmas may be canceled this year due to Global Warming.
Or flood their order desk with complaints.

Hmmmm . . . . I figure this boycott will go viral in about 3 nanoseconds.
That smell is their email server burning up with angry people telling them how incredibly stupid they are.
I shall redirect birthday gift-givers for my daughters from B-A-B to Cabelas instead.
Maybe we should all go into their store in metrotown and talk to people til they throw us out.
one-trick-pony, err bear.
E-mail sent. When will they learn?
Drudge just posted this.
I always thought this was an expensive and stupid way to entertain children only matched by the time I had a few kids doing ceramics in a ceramic shop. Was I stressed or what that they would break everything!
By George, it's the Team Soros. On Mao, on Lizard, on Suzy, on AlbertJr, on Dionky, onward ..... for humannity.

Another reason to avoid them like the plague is the fact that a portion of each and every sale is allocated to the World Whack-job Fund. They also have a tag with the Whack-job Panda trade-mark affixed to each toy, so it is no secret. This current idiotic stunt is no surprise.
Just advised them that my daughter has returned
all product she bought for my Grandkids this Christmas.
They are scum!

Required reading....
"Britain too has tried to find ways to remain an influence in the world, and some have argued over the years that British Intelligence and the Foreign Office have tried to use the WWF (and 1001 Club) to pursue some of the country's geopolitical interests. The most important of these critics has been the Irish journalist Kevin Dowling, who in 1990 produced the documentary 'Ten Pence in the Panda', in which he documented the extreme ineffectiveness of the WWF's efforts to defend species as the panda, the elephant, and the black rhino. During the controversy in the weeks and months after the documentary, Dowling produced more damning evidence against the WWF. It turned out that the people living in the reserves were forced to live under inhumane conditions (and could be shot on sight), that wealthy customers could illegally hunt on rhinos and elephants, that leading nature conservatives were involved in the illegal trade in ivory, and that criminal special operations were launched from nature reserves to sustain the apartheid system."
Nicola, I feel your pain. May I suggest a back-yard skating rink? Its free, its Canadian, and if you make them shovel it off themselves they'll be too tired to whine about playing PS3 or whatever.
Myself, I never buy anything that says World Weirdlife Fund on it, or promotes itself as green or whatever. I gave at the tax window already, blood suckers.
Ah the things companies do to appear "responsible". A few years ago I spoke to the manager of a Body Shop outlet. In the window a sign proudly proclaimed that "Our products are not tested on animals". I pointed out that obviously the products were tested on animals - Human Animals. I don't think she has figured it out yet.
I sent a letter of shame to them. Not that they care mind.
Is this what they mean by 'bearish'?
Can you build a Grinch?
well i have 2 nephews and one cousin that will never ever get a build an embearassment not from me ever and no i am not sorry this is first rate self loathing liberal propaganda. i personally think we should send them all over to muslim majority countries and speed the proces....

I sent this to the CEO

I am shocked appalled at how you brainwash children, through two animated polar bears and a penguin, to be indoctrinated into the biggest scam the world has ever encountered. Your underhanded and evil cartoon has made me so sick to my stomach I cannot even describe the feeling. I am going to go out of my way to make as many people as possible aware of your maleficence. The idea of brainwashing small children is abhorrent and with this video going virile on the Internet I am very sure your bottom line will feel the pinch.
How very sad.
"Christmas may be canceled this year due to Global Warming."
They'll celebrate Christmas in Australia anyhow, even though, down under, summer is just starting to get into full swing.
Propaganda like Build-A-Bearville makes probably doesn't have a Global impact.
I like that "Proud Recipient of Socially Safe.Com Best Practices Seal of Approval" they have under the Build-A-Bearville scrolling sign.
It is to laugh if it wasn't the incarnation of Orwell's newspeak.
http://sociallysafe.com/
Behind SociallySafe.com is Wired Trust whose mission statement says:
Users will become safer and the industry will be permitted to mature without the constant threat of regulatory action, legislation and legal challenges.
I think it's time that Wired Trust got tied up in some fraud litigation for promoting the Global Warming hoax to children.
WiredTrust was founded and is headed by Dr. Parry Aftab and has been advising the leading brand in cyberspace since 1994. She has advised such diverse companies as The Children's television Workshop (Sesame Street), PBS Kids, Disney, XBox and Microsoft, AOL, Procter & Gamble, HBO, Facebook, MySpace, KidZui, Yahoo!, LG Phones, Verizon, Jagex (Runescape), Build-a-Bear Workshop, the Girl Scouts of the USA, CMP, ToysRUs, the Motion Picture Association of America and others.
Nice list of companies to boycott in addition to Build-A-Bear Workshop.
These Lefties are dug in deeper than a tick on a hound.
Hope and Change would be a good thing.
Let's "hope" the "change" is getting people like these away from the children of cyberspace and into a nice cool jail cell.
I was going to say that their propagandizing children was as bad as any religious cult, but then remembered they ARE a religious cult.
Al Gore needs to incorporate this into his videos as a part of the required curriculum by the British government , is it any different from the video footage he used from the "Day after Tomorrow" excepting the animation is more amateurish.
This is what i sent!!
This is Paul ,

Wonder if they write scripts in the off season for faux science tripe like the "Ancient Discoveries" TV program on Global's Discovery channel. There are a whole stable of similar titles with the silliest politically correct BS you have ever encountered. Fully staffed with some of zaniest anti-American Brit scholars/clowns telling "porkies" and pulling off "recreations of ancient technology" so outlandish it's difficult to believe the show isn't a put-on.
One sneering aside involved the fact that it takes "America" five to ten years to build a nuclear powered aircraft carrier while 2000 years ago it only took the Phoenicians 44 days to build one of their "massive battleships" to take on the Romans.
Say what? Alternate universe? Did you even know the Pharaohs liked flying gliders and the Incas invented jet airplanes?
Email sent. I would also encourage people to give a call to their local store, or let the manager know in person why they have lost a customer.
I am sure that the franchisees will be impressed.
F**k me. I thought I was done shopping. Now I have a present to return.
I'll follow my carbon footprints back to mall!
And Maxine also has a blog. Although from the comments, it looks like it might be a policed site.
http://cbullitt.wordpress.com/2009/12/22/guess-who-has-a-blog-maxine-clark/
What about a movie about how if the greenies have there way there will be no Christmas because everything about Christmas is environementaly unfriendly? Increased carbon footprints come from the lights, the food, the shopping, the travelling and the celebrating. The gift wrap creates garbage, the stuff that we get that we don't need makes us consume too much, and it is all very capitalistic. Also the whole Christian side of it may offend someone.
On the bright side, they can't survive much longer.

This won't help a company already losing millions of dollars every year.
OMG
SDA gets results, yet again. Cut and pasted from the Build a Bear website, letter from the CEO dated December 22nd.

Letter from Maxine Clark regarding online webisodes, posted December 22, 2009
Dear Associates, Guests and Partners,
We have received inquiries regarding our online webisodes and would like to provide you with the following information.
Our goal is to entertain and engage the imagination of children with our stuffed animals, our store environment, and online. Our intention with the Polar Bear story was to inspire children, through the voices of our animal characters, to make a difference in their own individual ways. We did not intend to politicize the topic of global climate change or offend anyone in any way. The webisodes concluded this week with Santa successfully leaving on his journey to deliver gifts around the world. The webisodes will no longer be available on the site.
I started Build-A-Bear Workshop as a place for families and children to come for a fun experience combining imagination, creativity and empowerment. I have always placed great value in the trust that our Guests have in our brand.
At Build-A-Bear Workshop we also strive to encourage kids to help others by participating in their communities. We listen to parents and kids about topics that they are interested in and care about. We especially value the input of parents. We are listening and taking all points of view into consideration for the future.

Heh, most importantly:
"The webisodes will no longer be available on the site."
Incidentally, here is a copy of the e-mail that I sent:
Hello I live in Mission, BC, Canada . My wife and I have three young sons, aged three, two, and two months. We have frequented your store in Coquitlam, BC many times, including just last month for our two-year old's second birthday.
I am writing to advise you that we will no longer be patronizing your stores as a result of the ridiculous propaganda video aimed at children, scaring them there may be no Christmas, that the world is ending due to climate change, and that it is all their (and their parents') fault. Are you crazy? What a horrible message to send to children. Your stores, products, and message to your child customers should be free of the politicized "cow pies" known as Anthropogenic Climate Change (AGW). Let children be children, and let us crazy adults deal with real world issues, including the sick fantasy known as AGW.
That you have made a corporate decision to indoctrinate children with ridiculous propaganda is shameful. I will no longer be providing my money to further such unethical activity.
I will no longer be purchasing anything from your company, and along with several other parents will make sure your bottom line will be hit. How deranged do you need to be to try to manipulate children? You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Regards,
So in the end, they are not really green, but bottom line black.
Who woulda thunk it?
Just fired off my email to these idiots with my prediction that their bottom line will take a well-deserved hit.
I'm not under the self-delusion that my words will have any impact on people who are so obviously stupid, however, it felt good.
