The president and Mrs. Obama are reportedly outraged...
Strangely enough, Theodore Roosevelt, who was shot while making a speech, and finished it, was not reported to have been outraged. When Puerto Rican nationalist terrorists attacked Blair House, with three wounded, two dead, and at one point only a machine-gun on the stairs between Harry Truman and assassination, the president was not reported to have been outraged. And when Ronald Reagan, bullet near his heart, was wheeled into the emergency room at George Washington University, he was most likely not outraged—because had he been he likely would not have had the wit to say to his surgeons before he was put under, "I hope you're all Republicans." Apparently, outrage, like attention span and a good deal else, has devolved with American history.
The current occupant of the White House appears to be very nervous and security conscious - why is that?
Boo hoo. Poor babies.
They might well -- and one hopes -- be outraged at their sub-standard, and possibly, star-struck staff who let the Salahis into the White House bash in the first place. I mean, how did Barbie and Fat Ken get into the fortress?
My guess is that some celebrity and his partner/wife/squeeze were arriving and the Salahis hitched their wagon to their star, slipping through "security" while the staff schmoozed with the luminaries.
That's about the calibre of security the Os would have, if it's in keeping with the rest of their outfit. The security detail (sic) at the White House only found out about the security breach when the Salahis posted their White House photos on Facebook.
But, this is rich: Shortly after the incident "The Secret Service announced that it had not followed proper security procedures in admitting the Salahis and would seek criminal charges against the couple."
Against the couple? 'How about a few charges against the White House security detail who let these bozos in?
Perhaps it was their name, especially their last name that has a little bit of association to the Middle East and possibly Islamic ties. We wouldn't want to insult any of Barack Hussein Obama's brothers. Without a doubt these two twits should do some jail time, or he should have his immigration papers checked.

It seems outrage is all the rage.
Having recently re-read "A Strenuous Life", an exhaustive Biography of Theodore Roosevelt, I am trying to not laugh out loud at the comparisons.
While I am fully aware that becoming the President of the United States of America is an accomplishment in and of itself, it used to be that it wasn't the only significant accomplishment in one's life to that point. I am also aware that there has always been an element of legend making and theater in the building of a president.
When Teddy pulled off the feat of becoming President he first stepped into the role due to the untimely passing of his predecessor. He did get re-elected and then stepped back from the spotlight for a time following that term. He was torn throughout his political career by his desire to live a life outside of the bubble of politics pursuing his interests of creating true societal change, hunting, writing and exploring.... Unlike the current President, the writings which aided Roosevelt in building his reputation in the public eye, were written about others and about actual accomplishments.
Outrage should be limited to real tragedy and to real threats. I wonder if there is outrage for the state of affairs in the neighbourhoods where President Obama was voted for overwhelmingly on his message of Hope and Change?
How many of the masses who cheered his election are now working, taking better care of their children or following Mrs. Obama's lead in planting a garden in their neighbourhood?

Roosevelt nearly died trekking around the Amazon in 1914. That alone makes him a cooler president than Obama is ever likely to be.
Anyway, the thing about outrage is that, in order to feel outraged, you need to be important. The Obamas are Very Important People, unlike Ronald Reagan etc.

I was a master club sneaker inner when I was under-aged. I was usually rolling with Jamaican friends that could share IDs, but not me. Ironically, they typically would draw so much attention from the bouncers that I could slide in with the white dudes that just passed.
Had I the bright idea to crash that party I'd have never guessed I'd get in trouble. That said, I'm way too smooth to get into trouble for that. I just wish I thought of it first

haha - there have been been assassinations in my lifetime, both of presidents and others in the U.S. political arena. There have also been attempted assassinations during my little time on earth; whether or not you agree with the victim, it is absolutely ridiculous that these kind of slip-ups occur. Were I the pres there would definitely be heads rolling. This didn't occur on a public tour or on the streets, it occurred in his house, which outside of the Pentagon and Fort Knox should be the safest place in America.

Or is it sufficient to believe it simply because it satisfies one's confirmation bias, just as the global warming believers are willing to base their conclusions on their confirmation bias, without valid data.
