Speaking of May, I found this post by Rondi Adamson very illuminating:
"I attended the Munk Debate on climate change a couple of weeks ago, and the person who surprised me most was Elizabeth May. She surprised me in a bad way. I expected that she would debate as an adult, as a political figure, as an activist. Even though I don't agree with her about many issues (though believe it or not I am with her on some), I expected sage behaviour out of her. I don't know why -- I guess after her hectoring performance in the federal election debates I though she may have learned something, but she has only got worse.
Watching her was like watching the incarnation of every sexist male cliche about why women can't do politics. She was personal, childish, emotional. And when I say "emotional" I don't mean in a good way. I think it is possible, even desirable, to be emotional in a good way. She was emotional in an embarrassing manner. She spent much of the evening lobbing personal attacks at her opponents, in particular Bjorn Lomborg, on whom she was fixated.
It was painfully obvious that she is jealous of him and resentful of his success. At one point she got in an exchange with him where she got so hysterical (yes, that word is the best one to describe her at that point) that the sound people in the back had to turn off her mic! In spite of repeated, polite requests from the moderator for her to stop talking, she wouldn't, to the point that someone in the audience (who sounded like Stephen LeDrew to me) shouted out, "Be quiet, Ms. May!" She was condescending in the extreme. At one point she made a reference to Nigel Lawson and Lomborg's "nice little books." She referred to Lord Lawson -- in a dismissive tone -- as a "journalist" and two seconds later to George Monbiot as a "wonderful Guardian journalist." Oh please. Get some manners.
Speaking of Monbiot, I felt quite sorry for him. I did not find his arguments convincing (at least not in regards climate change, though they did convince me much of African culture is f**ked), but he stayed classy and had to be mortified at having been paired up with May. The saddest part was how she kept dropping names, trying to make herself sound important. She actually used, as an "argument," that she had met "the Minister for Poverty Alleviation from Lesotho" (yes, this is what she said) and that he apparently told her Lomborg was wrong! So there! Can you believe it? A completely juvenile argument -- anyone can say, "Well I met so-and-so, and they said you're wrong!" Hell, Lord Lawson, who was in Margaret Thatcher's cabinet, could certainly have dropped some names. He didn't.
But I gather he's not a mass of insecurity, as, sadly, is our Ms. May. The most telling thing about the evening was that she alienated the audience (and she and Monbiot lost the debate, soundly) -- a good U of T/NDP/Green/Annex crowd, her people."
jesus christ...those thighs...that ass that makes ms obama look bulimic...those stumpy piano mover legs...that face and that strident spoilt child tantrum throwing voice..

Maybe during our next election when May "HAS" to speak at the debates. The Audio/Vis guys will take note of the Munk Debate, and cut her mic when she won't shut up.
You know, what I have always assumed was that these fringe politicians were obviously out of their minds for wasting their time in these ridiculous political parties. This video is just a shining example of why too many political groups does not help anyone.
Being a member of a major political party at the very least does act as a filter to screen out these illogical screw balls. Wow I really hope Harper gets rid of the Dollar per vote scheme.
We have this stupid women and her equally stupid followers running around the streets of Sidney knocking on our doors to drum up support. These people are not only stupid they’re crazy. Ask them a question and it’s like you turn on a switch and out comes some programmed answer with no relation to the question asked. Having a thing like this person in your town is embarrassing.
Wish I'd been there to see Ms.May embarrass herself ,AGAIN, in front of an big audience.
It makes you wonder if there are any sensible people in the Green Party, or are they all delusional utopians. Greens actually imagine this woman is a Leader?!
The fact Ms.May IS the leader of a national political Party speaks of a dearth of quality people interested in running for office.
The Rhino Party used to run more credible candidates than this woman.
OMG !! Don't tell Ms May about the 1970s Rhinoceros Party platform.
'Stop pumping oil because anything that turns, as does the earth, has to be turning on bearings. Pump out the oil and the bearings will seize up and the world will stop turning'.
(that ! would be a bigger problem than a 2 degrees rise)
Just look at that fool....she will likely pop something...have a stroke or cardio-vascular accident----
She is a female version of the glutton in the Monty Python movie----an after-dinner waffer will get her for sure......
The only useful function served by that rude hysterical pseudo-environmental fascist (and her party) is helping Harper maintain power by pulling 7% of Canada's popular vote (mostly) from the NPD and Libs, thus dampening the otherwise more accelerated advance of leviathan.
I take fleeting pleasure in the frustration that she must suffer from by having no seat in Parliament for all that support. The irrational narratives that she and her ilk spew have poisoned Western culture and it's getting worse, not better.
Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.
I have noticed this for years: the conservative in a debate will stand politely and let the Leftist say their piece unhindered, and then the conservative will begin to say their piece and be interrupted and even talked over by the Leftist, sometimes even shouted down, often with the collusion of the "moderator".
In this age we live in, a new debate protocol is warranted.
The debaters should be in soundproof booths, cone of silence, and have their microphones activated at the beginning of their allotted speaking time and then cut off at the end of each allotted section.
This protocol should even be observed during rebuttal.
If a debate venue cannot afford soundproof booths, then a combination of cutting off microphones plus electroshock dog collars should be used.
I'm pretty confident that the conservative in such a debate would never feel the sting.
Bjørn Lomborg was Director of Denmark's national Environmental Assessment Institute , February 2002-July 2004.
Time magazine named Lomborg one of the world's 100 most influential people in 2004.
In 2008 he was named "one of the 50 people who could save the planet" by the UK Guardian; "one of the top 100 public intellectuals" by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazine; and "one of the world's 75 most influential people of the 21st century" by Esquire.
Bjørn Lomborg is also a gay man.
Imagine, after homosexuals working for over a decade to dispel the myths associated with HIV/AIDS that a man like Bjørn Lomborg has to endure being shouted down by the likes of Elizabeth May conflating Climate Change with HIV/AIDS.
The concept connecting the two links is an altered set of reality. There seems to be a serious disconnect between them and reality, especially in the area of morals.
This is a textbook example of the emotional, irrational belief system of the Greenies, because facts don't matter. Just hearsay is good enough for Lizard May.
For anybody who doubts her real agenda, they should watch this, hell, she even tries to drown out the moderator. This green stump loves the sound of her own shrill voice. So why is it the Mop & Flail used her as a blogger from Copenhagen? Because she's shrill?
And, as mentioned above, I deplore the Greens getting $1.75 per vote, to have to barely tolerate her inane ramblings. Yet, it serves a purpose as well, keeping all those votes away from the Dips and the Fibs.
4 leftwad parties, 1 right wing party.......splits the vote rather well. And the lefties all seem to despise each other, save for the failed coalition of the swilling. But, seems easy to figure why that came about, Jack and Jill each saw the weak and inept DeYawn as a doormat.
Anyways, this video should be played for anybody who thinks they are a green supporter, to ask them how they could support such a deplorable individual
Regarding the video from the Munk Debates, I have it on authority from a very reliable source who was there that this was the moment when a number of people in the audience switched over to being skeptical of AGW. However, the fact that the ENTIRE audience wasn’t dismayed & disgusted by her performance is a clear indicator of a lack of critical thinking amongst all too many Canadians.
An obvious question arises from all of this: If none of the aforementioned recent events have shamed Ms. May into admitting she’s a scoundrel (I’m being kind) and resigning, then I wonder what sort of scandal would she need to get embroiled in to actually quit?
I think this is exhibit 'A' as to why she should not be granted any exemption to be in the leaders debate. She doesnt qualify on any other objective ground and she has blown any goodwill she may have had.

Robert W, I don't think the word "shame" is in the Green Party lexicon.
That any Green Party member can even stomach having Elizabeth May as their party leader is very telling on the Green Party as a whole.
If I were a Green Party member I would be demanding her resignation for the good of the party and it's cause.
As one opposed to the Green Party and everything it stands for I hope Elizabeth May remains party leader and that the Green Party continues on it's merry journey, shaving votes from the other Leftist parties and generally making their support on "Green" issues a laughingstock for all to behold.
I can't decide if during the next election debates if she'll be a plus or minus for PMSH - that is if she is allowed in.
I'm sure her fellow travellers Iggy et al will be happy to have this wacko glomming all over Harper. Harper, standard issue conservative, will have to grimmace and politely endure her hysterical drivel.

Ya gotta like that lefty reacting like a rational person: "How is that possible?".
How is it possible she's not embarrassed for herself?
She also played the Pine Beetle Card which has also been refuted by at least three seperate studies, in each study Forest Management Practices were the root cause of the infestation.
The Pine Beetle would be a pretty useless boreal insect if it could not survive a cold winter, which it had for 1000s of years. Fire is the natural control system, the beetle killed wood is highly combustible and prone to lightining fires, which destroys the colony. Zero tolerence fire strategies stops the natural balance and allowed the beetle population to explode.
Before arial fire fighting when we used containment rather then direct assault techniques this was not a problem.
Perhaps the beetles will get Aids from Global Warming?
I tried to post this at the Ottawa Citizen, re the "starting to make sense" link here: no go. So, I'll post my comment here:
"My take is that the greenies are following an alternate, relativistic religion—yes, it’s a religion—which makes an idol of the individual and worships the Earth, rather than the Earth’s Creator.
"The Creator’s a problem for the greenie free thinkers. You know: rules like the Ten Commandments are a drag. But, once unmoored from such anachronisms, all hell is likely to break loose. Then, cheating and stealing are mere, small potatoes [which is why greenie types are more likely to do so than us, rule-bound, non-greenie types].
"I hope this non-biological—e.g., moral, which is where it lies—explanation helps."
I just watched the whole debate and the best zinger, which they all are skilled at delivering, comes in the second last segment by the Lawson! "The left has the best rhetoric"...perfect. "But suffers from a big gap in reality!"
What comes out loud and clear is that the left finds comfort in being idealistic but wants the rest of the world to pay for their solutions in what is to them...a complex problem.
What I would like to know is the amount May has donated personally to African issues through NGOs?
When it comes to helping Africa, May doesn't have a clue. I have more people in my circle of family and friends that today and over the past 60 years have done more for Africa than Stephen Lewis ever has or will...WITH HIS OWN MONEY!!! Has she ever given credit to Bush for having done more than any president in history?? He at least, did much with his own money too.
Drought causes AIDs and murder in Africa...!!What did I type off the top?!
If this is true, then there must have been thousands murdered (but not reported)during the depression in Saskatchewan...or was it the cold frigid winters that brought on the morality that stopped my grandpa's from shooting their neighbors??
Not to long ago (2001 -2006) part of north west Saskatchewan and an area stretching far into Alberta suffered 3 to 5 years of drought.
My own place producing zero $ and on some land 100% of the poplar trees died, grasshoppers eating everything in site, making the landscape look just like it did in the thirty"s say the old timers.
I guess May and her fellow kool aid drinkers would have excused my taking from my neighbors at gun point.

I think this is exhibit 'A' as to why she should not be granted any exemption to be in the leaders debate. She doesnt qualify on any other objective ground and she has blown any goodwill she may have had.

Agent Smith,
Oh, I dont know, this time I think he would take a swipe at her at the appropriate moment.
Somewhere along the lines of "Do you just make this Up?!?!"
I'm afraid to say that under the same conditions of last year I'm not likely to watch the leaders debate.
I specifically recall saying how lucky it was that the Vice Presidential debate was happening at the same time.
I swear that if we had an election on the $$ for votes issue I would..., anyways I can hope.

How about if she were to come forward as Tiger's 14th hussy/slut? I'm sure that would be very credible. ;D~
It would also provide Tiger with some much needed sympathy.
If any man were caught having an affair with Lizzie May, wouldn't that mean he was essentially . . .
Nahhhh, I can't say it!
May might have a case is you look at this way (which is probably how she sees it)
- Africa is a very hot place and has a lot of AIDS
- Canada is a very cool place and has very little AIDS
Soooooo if we can just pay enough money to cool Africa ... we will curtail AIDS.
Not sure what that will do the African wildlife, but the polar bears will be okay.
I am not certain, but I would have to say, that this statement was quite possibly the most retarded blathering I have ever heard.
You just can't make this stuff up,

"I hope this non-biological—e.g., moral, which is where it lies—explanation helps."
Cheers!
Dmorris @ 11:55: "The Rhino Party used to run more credible candidates than this woman."
I'm a visual learner. The juxtaposition of Rhino and May seems just right: doesn't she look like a rhino in a skirt?
Sorry!!
For Liberals...history starts every morning!
