As for myself, yes I was raised a Catholic, served as an altar boy for several years, went to Catholic School where we were regularly belittled & beaten by sadistic priests, and had a good friend who was gang raped in his first year as a seminarian. He dropped out and hasn't been in church since.

So yeah, I do not make comments here without knowing of what I speak. How about you?

Yes Alienated, and every country has had abuse done by its secular teachers, scout masters, social workers etc. etc. but no one wishes to talk about that, I have never been touched or even experienced anything inappropriate by dozens of priests nuns and other religious. I got the strap on one occasion, I hardly call that a beating, it was the established form of punishment in all schools. Funny, isn't it that some have seen so much and others have seen nothing. I believe what I experienced to be the norm, I have doubts about the extent of your experience, like the natives, it is easy to accuse and so hard for those accused to deny.
