All that power, and no way to install 22" rims.

Who says Canadians are dull ?

A Journalist in a major Canadian paper exposes the most dangerous man (A Canadian) in the world.

The much awaited Reader Tips has opened up - thank you!!!

I would STRONGLY encourage each of you to listen to the first hour of Charles Adler's show from today. It hit so many chords I temporarily became deaf!

Just click here and move the slider to 6:00. Then when you encounter a commercial, you can move the slider forward 3 or 4 minutes. The ENTIRE hour is worth listening to!

After you hear the podcast then you'll understand why I'm asking this question:

Why is it that those who hate the Canadian military also almost always seem to hate Americans and also almost always seem to hate Jews?

I ask the question sincerely and I chose the "H" word quite deliberately because I don't believe it's "dislike" they feel. Seriously though, what is the connection???

One torpedo could end it all!

One torpedo could end it all!

And don't forget to read Mo's in-depth climatological analysis on his site.

It must be in there somewhere. How could such an economic and lifestyle collapser not show his work.

David P. Goldman:

"The epithet 'narcissistic' now sticks to Obama the way 'swift-footed' did to Achilles in the Iliad. Newsweek columnist Howard Fineman wrote Sept. 26, 'Enough TV, Mr. President' – and that was before the Norwegian Academy offered Obama yet another primetime spot.

"Even an former enthusiast like Marty Peretz, the publisher of the New Republic, has taken up the 'narcissist' label, and with a vengeance. A committed Zionist, Peretz put his reputation on the block for Obama during the summer of 2008 when conservative critics alleged anti-Israel bias in the Obama camp, and the revision of his views must have been painful."

Goldman quotes Peretz:

"What I suspect is that the president is probably a clinical narcissist. This is not necessarily a bad condition if one maintains for oneself what the psychiatrists call an 'optimal margin of illusion,' that is, the margin of hope that allows you to work. But what if his narcissism blinds him to the issues and problems in the world and the inveterate foes of the nation that are not susceptible to his charms?"

Conservative Pup:

"After spending the afternoon on Thursday glued to the television news once I learned of the slaughter at Ft. Hood, Texas, I listened to Obama’s 'address to the nation' regarding the murders. I wasn’t expecting him to be “Bush-like” or to be comforting, at least not to me. I have very low expectations of our president at this point; however, even I was stunned at what I saw and heard from our Commander-in-Chief.

"He did not speak straight away to the tragedy. Instead, he started out as if nothing had happened. So much so, that I truly believed that I was watching file footage from earlier in the day, and that he hadn’t come on yet to speak. Lo and behold, it was live, and it was chilling."

(...)

"I’m not writing this to simply be critical of Obama. I am critical of him, but this goes deeper than just my personal distaste for his agenda and lack of any shred of respect for his character. I fear that we have one of the most narcissistic presidents we’ve ever had, to the point of being pathological. I also strongly suspect that he’s also a sociopath. None of which would matter much, if he weren’t our President and Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces.

"Others share this suspicion and belief. I did a google search on some search words and found the following interesting results:

google search “obama sociopath narcissist”=146,000 results

google search ‘obama sociopath’ =1,820,000 results

google search ‘obama narcissist’ =2,20,000 results..."

Hmmm. Do read the whole thing, including the links.

Sometimes, some people get too excited and forget to do some thinking, other times, not.
Don’t know how much of this is true or if it is just a likely story, nonetheless her it is.

She mentions his narcissism but leans more toward the psychopath/sociopath angle, suggesting Obama doesn't seem to know how or what to feel.

Sorry, that just sounds silly.

Me No Dhimmi (from your link):

"(Obama) may not have the foggiest idea what to feel or say or do. He may not realize that after dozens of our soldiers are shot, he should be angry. Sad. Worried. He should feel something. Or at least pretend to."

That's what's really unsettling and...disturbing: he actually *doesn't understand* what a normal human reaction would be. If he did he would FAKE it.

Absolutely brutal. Too bad.

Totally OT, I just have to get this off my chest as an often-forgiving spelling Nazi:

were (used to be)
we're (we are)
wear (as in, clothing)
ware (stuff you sell)

Personally, I blame the Brits for this word-mangling, as all too often I hear them pronounce all four the same way. Don't even get me started on the Kiwis or Ozzies.

Paul, may I respectfully add an ancillary lesson to yours?

Way too many people I know don't seem to know the difference between:

- your = of or relating to you or yourself or yourselves

- you're = you are

Gord Tulk, I did just that before I wrote, "Sorry, that just sounds silly."

I see no other source for it other than canadafreepress.com

Sorry, that's not good enough for me. Surely there must be other sources for this claim.

I was about to ask Barb@snopes, but figured I'd check out the site first.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/firstlady.asp

David (it was written by David, otherwise Barbara would've "internymed" it) says:

"Mixture of true and false information"

So far as the original White House report is accurate, it's fair to say that First Lady Michelle Obama has about 22 staffers working for her, directly or indirectly. (Some other accounts put that figure at 24.) However, it's grossly inaccurate to claim that the current First Lady has hired "an unprecedented number of staffers," or to assert (as stated in the anonymously tacked-on final paragraph) that First Lady Laura Bush had but a single staffer working for her.

The 2008 White House Office Staff List, issued during the final year of President George W. Bush's tenure in office, includes sixteen different staffers with the words "First Lady" in their position titles — exactly the same number as that listed for Michelle Obama in 2009. If all staffers listed with "Social Secretary" in their titles are included as part of the First Lady's retinue (as was done with the Michelle Obama example cited above), then Mrs. Bush had at least 18 people working for her in 2008 (not including any of the various personnel listed only as "Staff Assistants," some of whom may also have worked for her directly or indirectly).

In fact, according to Anita McBride, Laura Bush's former Chief of Staff, Mrs. Bush had between 24 and 26 staffers working for her by the end of her husband's second term in office. It's therefore fair to say that the size of Michelle Obama's staff is not "unprecedented," but rather on a par with her immediate predecessor's.

Moreover, according to the Associated Press, several other First Ladies had larger numbers of personnel working for them than Michelle Obama does:

A look at some first ladies and their staff sizes:

Laura Bush: Between 24 and 26 by end of President George W. Bush's term in 2009, according to Anita McBride, Mrs. Bush's chief of staff.
Lady Bird Johnson, whose signature issue was beautifying roadways, had a staff of 30, said Stacy A. Cordery, a history professor at Montmouth College in Illinois who studies first ladies.
Betty Ford had almost the same number.
Jacqueline Kennedy, who made renovating the White House her cause, had about 40 people on staff, Cordery said.

So I guess it comes down to whether you believe snopes or not.

I'm not a fan of BO, but let's not focus on a non-issue when there are real things to point out loudly. K?

"British gardeners told: go green, pee outdoors ("pee green" ?)

LONDON (AP) - A British heritage charity is encouraging employees to help the environment by eschewing indoor toilets and relieving themselves outdoors. The experiment applies to male gardening staff at Wimpole Hall, a stately home about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of London.

The National Trust, which runs the property, says the staff are being encouraged to urinate on straw which is then placed on compost heaps.

The trust said Friday that the chemical reaction helps the composting process, while the absence of flushing by 10 members of staff could cut the estate's water use by almost a third.

Officials warned the gardeners to make sure they urinate in spots where they cannot be seen by passers-by."

It's high time this tangled web was exposed in the national media.

Holy freakin' moonbats!
Check out the comments section of the CBC' story on the moon probe finding water.
We're doomed if these people breed.

"Along with water; Evaporation is another misconstrued phenomenon.
Evaporation is simply a reaction causing temperature to rise changing water back to fire."

"The moon doesn't have enough gravity to consider trying to terraform it. Besides, the earth has such a profound affect on the earth's climate that messing with it would not be the smartest thing to do."

"So now human science shows us there is water on the moon. And the very first things humans do is to pollute that water with rocket trash. Is there really any progress in space?"

"I really don't know why people think this is good news. Since when did the Americans have the right to drop so called probes on "our" moon. Does everyone realise that even a small fraction of difference in the moons orbit would have a devastating effect on the earth. The Americans just seem to be omnipotent don't they?"

There is more, a lot more..

"Denying Reality, or the Heavy Cost of Political Correctness

By Ibn Warraq

In the wake of the murder of 13 and the wounding of 38 soldiers at Fort Hood on November 5, media analysts, politicians, and other sundry experts scrambled to present the accused perpetrator of the acts, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, as a victim. In so doing they served, knowingly or otherwise, as apologists for radical Islam. From CNN to the New York Times, NPR to the Washington Post, the killings were presented as a result of racism. They were attributed to fear of deployment in Afghanistan and harassment from other soldiers. Cited were Major Hasan’s supposed maladjustment to his life and his sense of not belonging, pre-traumatic stress disorder, and various personal and mental problems. All these explanations are variations on what I have called “the Root Cause Fallacy,” which has been committed time and again since the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001. The Root Cause Fallacy was designed to deflect attention away from Islam, in effect to exonerate Islam, which, we are told, is never to blame for acts of violence. On this view we must not hold a great world religion of peace responsible when individuals of that faith resort to force. We must dig deeper: the real cause is poverty, U.S. foreign policy, the Arab-Israeli conflict, Western colonialism and exploitation, marital problems of individuals, and so on. The present “psychological” interpretations in the case of Major Hasan are just the latest example of the Root Cause Fallacy at work.

The Australian tells us that the mindset of Major Hasan remains a “mystery,” yet his Jihadist intentions are there on the surface for everyone not paralyzed by political correctness to see. According to CNN (Nov. 7), on the morning of the shootings Hasan gave copies of the Koran to his neighbors. According to the Associated Press (Nov. 6), soldiers reported that Hasan shouted out “Allahu Akbar” [God is Great] – the war cry of all Jihadis – before firing off over a hundred rounds with two pistols in a center where some 300 unarmed soldiers had lined up for vaccines and eye tests. NPR informs us that Hasan was put on probation early in his postgraduate work at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., for proselytizing about his Muslim faith with patients and colleagues. The Associated Press (Nov. 11) adds that classmates who studied with Hasan from in that postgraduate program reported Hasan making a presentation during their studies "that justified suicide bombing" and spewed "anti-American propaganda," denouncing the war on terror as "a war against Islam." Classmate Val Finnell and another student complained about Hasan, shocked that someone with "this type of vile ideology" would be allowed to wear an officer’s uniform. But, importantly, no one filed a formal complaint about Hasan’s views and comments for fear of appearing discriminatory -- in other words, out of political correctness. According to The Telegraph (Nov. 6), Army colleagues reported that Major Hasan had condemned U.S. foreign policy, that he clearly declared that Muslims had the right to rise up and attack Americans, that he expressed happiness when a U.S. soldier was killed in an attack on a military recruitment center in Arkansas in June, and that he said people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Times Square. It has been widely reported that Major Hasan attended the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Virginia Falls during the time that Anwar al-Awlaki, a Yemen-based al-Qaeda preacher with extensive terrorist connections, was its main preacher. Awlaki even praised Major Hasan as a hero on November 9, four days after the Fort Hood attacks. The Times of London revealed (Nov. 10) that Major Hasan had been in direct correspondence with Awlaki, in connection with which Hasan had already been under investigation by the F.B.I. Almost every news source has reported that Major Hasan was also under investigation by federal law enforcement officials for his postings to an internet site speaking favorably of suicide bombing.

Fortunately, not all in the media were hamstrung by political correctness. Here is Ralph Peters in the New York Post (Nov. 6): “On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim U.S. Army officer shouting ‘Allahu Akbar!’ committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam. What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Ft. Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of non-denominational shoplifting. This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it’s an act of terror. Period.”

There was a laudable concern among Americans about a possible “backlash” against all American Muslims. What backlash? Even following the September 11 attacks with their 2,976 victims, Americans behaved."

Seems to be a pattern here.

[ The world has been ending for quite some time now, and with the new movie 2012 opening this week, we have the pleasure of watching it in high-definition.

Some religious groups have been predicting the end of the world since at least the second century. As far back as there have been people, there have been doomsday cults surrounding the approach of comets, plagues, prophets and wars. In fact, I think it would be hard to find a year when some Mayan, Incan, ancient Egyptian, holy book or other, psychic or the guy who wears a tinfoil hat and lives under the bridge has predicted the world was going to end. ]

Tea partiers helping farmers in California -

Thanks to the government’s misuse of the Federal Endangered Species Act and two subsequent biological opinions, the vast majority of water that normally flows to California’s West-Side Central Valley farmers has been shut off DURING THE GROWING SEASON in order to protect a 2” baitfish called the Delta Smelt and a handful of other marine species.

Starting in 2009 and continuing on thereafter — through the enactment of the San Joaquin River Settlement — water for struggling farms on the East-Side of the Valley will be diverted to restore a long lost salmon run (one that experts say will not reestablish).

THE RESULT is a growing Government created Dust Bowl, 40+% unemployment for surrounding communities, bankruptcy for countless farmers and their families, higher food prices nationally, a greater dependence on foreign produce, and a dangerous precedent for land owners NATIONWIDE.

Wind power falling apart in Manitoba:

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/high-hopes-for-wind-die-down-70094742.html

"Ontario has a new green-energy policy called a feed-in tariff that threatens to suck all the wind out of Manitoba. It's a guaranteed, set price -- 13.5 cents per kilowatt hour -- the province of Ontario will pay for wind power. "

Wow 13.5 cents per kwhr, currently in Manitoba we pay a little over 5.5 cents per kwhr. This last line is the sinker:

"And, she said, Manitoba is blessed with cheap power, meaning ratepayers would take a hit if the province threw open its doors to wind power like Ontario has done."

In other words, it's not economically viable unless the government enforces higher rates. Socialism at its finest.

The sad thing is, if we did not have a government monopoly (Manitoba Hydro) the rates would be higher, and wind power would be economically viable here.

One word: YIKES!!!

If I was a New Yorker I'd be thinking political Jihad myself against the White House with their many pro Islamist bed fellows. What contempt for his Nation. What gloating evil impulse to open the red carpet to the killers of a massacre, in the very city it was perpetrated on by these Monsters. New York should stage a shut out of this abomination.

Utopians are unrepentant monsters.
The perfect is the perfect rationale.
O send us serial killers, rapists, gangsters,
Preferably to "should" becoming "shall"!
In those who seek to make their visions real,

Nor can they love, who would impose their will,
Sure enough of paradise to kill.

That German privacy law is sick (in the bad way). The article said it was a 1973 Supreme Court decision rather than legislation passed by elected representatives.

But then again, the idiot who stabbed Monica Seles went to trial twice and the "justice system" couldn't find him guilty. Remind me never to go to Germany.

I second Me No Dhimmi's recommendation of Robin of Berkeley's latest column about "Nowhere Man", Obama, at American Thinker. She's right on the money here and is always a great read.
