Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight in remembrance, lest we forget, here is In Flanders Fields sung by the Summit High School Concert Choir. The poem was written by Canadian physician and Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, on May 3, 1915, after he witnessed the death of his friend, Lieutenant Alexis Helmer, only 22 years old, the day before.

Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

Wonderful picture of her majesty. Always dignified.

She's bodacious! She's bombastic! She's babe-a-licious!

And she just called old Mo a pedophile on Italian TV.

Youtube video of Movement for Italy leader Daniela Santanchè and the mohammadans in the audience angered by her words.

Poppies can lie dormant in the earth for years. When the earth is churned and the seeds are fed the poppies will bloom. Though seen as a symbol of death before the first world war, the devestated earth and the blood and calcium from the bones of the dead caused a massive bloom that inspired the poem. A terrible price to pay for the beauty of the poppy. Wear yours and try to make it to a service.

The Voltaire Press is issuing a book titled Muhammad: The “Banned” Images.

The press release says that The Banned:

has thirty one “high-quality, full-color images of Muhammed. Complete with captions, the images span the 12th through 21st centuries, and include paintings by Muslim artists working in the Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal empires, as well as paintings and drawings by William Blake, Gustave Dore, and Salvador Dali.

Dr. Hull, the professor of ethics who wrote the introduction, says it’s a “picture book”. He considers it a collection of errata to accompany Klausen’s book [the Yale press Mo-tune-less Mo-tune book]. The press release goes further:

It is of course more than that. It is a statement of defiance against censors, terror-mongers, and their Western appeasers. It is a rallying cry for free speech, freedom of the press, and for open scholarship unfettered by fear.” Hull has been involved with the Danish cartoon controversy since 2006, when his program at Duke hosted a speech by Flemming Rose. His introduction includes a brief survey of the reaction of Western intellectuals to Muslim violence and threats, including the Rushdie fatwa, the Theo van Gogh assassination, and Yale University Press’s recent spineless self-censorship.

Available at Amazon for a measly $15.

Honour Killing Kab Kompany of Ottawa
------------------------------
The city’s taxi union boss was handed a year in jail Tuesday for what a judge deemed an “honour crime.”

Yusef Salam Al Mezel, 44, had pleaded guilty to criminally harassing his 23-year-old daughter, Eman, over three weeks in July 2007.

“Mr. Al Mezel has threatened his daughter with serious violence and has caused her to fear for her safety in the name of honour,” Judge Lynn Ratushny wrote. “He has committed the crime of harassment against her in the name of honour.”

I am tonite somewhat circumspective. Until now I have always had my dad, my favorite veteran, to spend Rememberance Day with. Dad joined-up again, this time to be with Mon, some relative and many other veterans who went before him.

Tomorrow will be a little different for me but I will no less honor him and his service that helped ensure that my, my children's and grandchildren's lives should be free to pursue our wildest dreams.

What can I or anyone else say but - Thanks Dad - and - Thanks - for those who don't take the time to say "Thanks".

Bob - review the post - man!

OK - should have read "Mom" rather than "Mon" and "s" on the end of relative.

Aside for that - absolutely nooooo apologies! Some times the keys are harder to see - you know?

Muslim Dad Jailed for Threats against Daughter

In Canada they jail the Muslim fathers of runaways that threaten their daughters. In Ohio, they move to return them to their fathers. Perhaps Rifqa ought to go to ....Canada.

Both sides of my family liberated by Canadian soldiers in Holland. Mom always made sure we went to the centataph.

Agent - there is no more a grateful people than the Dutch toward Canada for their liberation. Thank you and your wonderful country for your everlasting gratitude.

You deserve your freedom! You will not allow it to be squandered nor forgotten.

I am with you on this bob and will be taking two minutes as well as the rest of the day to think about these men and women.

I'm afraid this whole Islamist business will be getting much worse before it gets better.

Agent, my dad may have been one of them. Who knows. For many years after the war my parents corresponded at Christmas with a Dutch family. They got a local Dutch-Canadian family to translate the letters each time.

Different Bob/Louise

For years the Dutch have been crazy for the Canucks. Streets named after them - i remember going for a visit there in a church and seeing names of Canadian soldiers in the stain glass windows. They have a folk saying there ' a Canadian can break a pot of mine any time.'

I also remember reading that when the Canadian soldiers were in town no Dutch guy could get a date heh. I can believe it - growing up in my church - Reformed (Dutch) we had a guy who's father was a Canadian soldier. Heard a lot of amazing stoties of that time from the old folks.

If you want to see a great recent movie with Dutch, Duetsch and Canadians of WW2 check out 'Black Book' by Paul Verhoeven ( yeah i know 'Show Girls' director, so some risqueness - but it's good!) Based on real events and most expensive movie ever made in Holland.

I will be at the Cenotaph tomorrow. My father served. He came home from WWII somewhat shell shocked, after spending 5 years in the First Hussars.

He launched his squad of 6 Duplex Drive Shermans into the water 6000 yds off Juno Beach on D-Day. His tank was one of the 7 of 12 that made it ashore. 3 sunk to the bottom on launch as a shell broke the chain holding up the ramp on the LTC. He lost his best friend in one of those.

He was hit in the chest by shrapnel on hitting the beach, but the shrapnel hit the lighter in his left breast pocket. Destroyed his precious Ronson lighter but he was able to continue.

Two days later on the afternoon of Sunday, 11 June, his 'B' Squadron of the 1st Hussars suffered heavy losses during an abortive attack with The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada on the hamlet of Le Mesnil Patry, North-West of Caen. The day is remembered by the 1st Hussars as on "Black Monday".

Panzergrenadiers, pioneers and tanks of the 12th SS Panzer Division were able to ambush his tanks of 'B' Squadron in part due to intelligence gleaned from the Hussar's own radio traffic after capturing wireless codes from a destroyed Canadian tank on 9 June. Using Panzerfausts, Panzerschrecks and anti-tank guns, the German forces were able destroy 51 Shermans, and inflict 61 killed or missing, 2 wounded and 11 captured on the 1st Hussars. The Queen's Own Rifles suffered 55 killed, 33 wounded and 11 taken prisoner during the attack.

He was playing chess on a German airfield when VE day was announced.

Tough go for him and others. He died at 84. I miss him.

To all veterans, past and present, that serve this great nation.. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

agent smith, a different bob: My dad (RIP) served in Holland as a 17-year-old. He lied about his age to get into the army.

I miss him too, but will remember his sacrifices and those of all of the allied soldiers -- and their families -- at a Remembrance Day service this morning.

Far more than memories will be recalled; if it weren't for the veterans' risking and losing their lives, we would not enjoy the freedoms we are so blessed with.

Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord. And may light perpetual shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Oh, and BTW: God save the Queen! Long live our noble Queen!

Speaking of which, I am disgusted by the infantile demonstrations against the Monarchy in Montreal. 'Look what happened to France when they got rid of their Monarchy: you know? Robespierre, heads rolling, collaboration with the Nazis in WWII, present-day France.

"Bombshell from Bristol: Is the airborne fraction of anthropogenic CO2 emissions increasing? – study says “no”

University of Bristol Press release issued 9 November 2009

bristol_university_logo

New data show that the balance between the airborne and the absorbed fraction of carbon dioxide has stayed approximately constant since 1850, despite emissions of carbon dioxide having risen from about 2 billion tons a year in 1850 to 35 billion tons a year now.

This suggests that terrestrial ecosystems and the oceans have a much greater capacity to absorb CO2 than had been previously expected.

The results run contrary to a significant body of recent research which expects that the capacity of terrestrial ecosystems and the oceans to absorb CO2 should start to diminish as CO2 emissions increase, letting greenhouse gas levels skyrocket. Dr Wolfgang Knorr at the University of Bristol found that in fact the trend in the airborne fraction since 1850 has only been 0.7 ± 1.4% per decade, which is essentially zero.

The strength of the new study, published online in Geophysical Research Letters, is that it rests solely on measurements and statistical data, including historical records extracted from Antarctic ice, and does not rely on computations with complex climate models."

Bad ideas never die. They exist quietly below the level of public consciousness and then pop up again at the most inappropriate times.

So it is with Rae Days – the flawed, quixotic and ultimately pointless attempt by the New Democratic Party government of the early '90s to roll back Ontario's public sector wage bill in order to deal with what promised to be an eye-popping $18 billion deficit.

Nicknamed for then premier (and now Liberal MP) Bob Rae, the scheme appeared to make sense."

"*From Meccania to Atlantis - Part 1: The March of the Body Snatchers"

"That’s why I think of them as “Pods” and of us as “Nonpods.” I use these words in the context of one of the great masterpieces of American cinema, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, released in 1956 and directed by Don Siegel, based on a novel by Jack Finney. In it, a doctor returns to a small California town to find out that one by one, its people, most of whom he has known all his life, have been replaced by dopplegängers.

These emotionless beings animated by a single instinct – proliferation -- develop from large, foaming seedpods; in effect a biological production line for lifelike automatons, set up by evil space aliens.

One by one, real people disappear – acquaintances, friends and ultimately the protagonist’s girlfriend, until he remains the sole nonpod, encircled by human-like, giant legumes: the Body Snatchers.

Pods whose previous identities have been snatched and extinguished seem to be multiplying in our world too, and they are passionate in their hatred -- of us. Middle-aged men and women who demonstrate publicly their desire for Europe to remain European are beaten up by Antifa gangs half their age and twenty times their number. The few Americans who have the courage to demonstrate their support for the alternative to a crypto-Marxist disciple of Black Theology are heckled, beaten up, or firebombed in the Country of the Free.

Pods are deeply committed to the idea that freedom and equality are not mutually exclusive. They are the emotional children of the French Revolution and worship its motto so much that they are willing to install PC tyranny in the name of Liberté, enforce racist and gender discrimination and robbery of private property in the name of Egalité, and stop at no fraud, libel and persecution of their opponents in the name of Fraternité.

Pods view biological race and gender differences as social constructs, and therefore social group differences as an unjust inequality that must be rectified by reconstructing society. They view nation, ethnoculture, and private property as obsolete obstacles in the way of freedom, equality and fraternity of all people. Therefore, the right of anyone to immigrate anywhere precedes the right of the one suffering the destruction of his social capital by this immigration. The right of a slacker to home, sustenance, and self-esteem counseling precedes the right of the 80-hours-a-week worker not to have his earnings confiscated to float the slacker in splendid idleness.

They view the refusal to tolerate the intolerable as unacceptable intolerance, and the desire to protect and preserve one’s family, community, country and culture as racism and xenophobia. And lastly, they have stood Jesus’ metaphor on its end, so that they fail to see the beam in the nonwhites’, non-Christians’ eye, but they see and greatly magnify the speck in their own peoples’ eye.

This is deep, delusionary dementia. A recent headline conveys the essence of this syndrome: Cyclists 'braved freezing cold temps' to promote global warming awareness..."

Miss Matt,

Gotta love Italian news programs. From a style perspective you would never see so many scooped shirts on female TV anchors.

Italian women must present the biggest conubdrum to the medieval fundementalist Islam guys. Outspoken, in your face...love it. Never get into an argument with a beautiful italian woman, you cannot win.

The multi cult argument was being urned on its head, which is as it should be..."In our culture Mohammed is a pedophile" Sauce for the goose I guess.

And yet I think there was an equally religously offensive line stated by the "muslim suit guy", he referred to historical innacuracies or something, he was referecing the belief of muslims that Jesus didnt die on the cross. In fact the latter is mor eoffensive since it cuts to the heart of the religon, the Mohammed fact doesnt cut to the heart of belief.

Maj. Nidal M. Hasan, the Army psychiatrist believed to have killed 13 people at Fort Hood, was supposed to discuss a medical topic during a presentation to senior Army doctors in June 2007. Instead, he lectured on Islam, suicide bombers and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting wars in Muslim countries.

“I’ve been in this business a long time, but it really disturbs me when I see the opium workshops in Mawand that are completely run with children labor.” This is how Suleiman, a thuggish drug trader from southern Afghanistan, described Afghanistan’s narcotics industry to me when I was in Kandahar this past June. “They would line up around the compound each morning, just hoping and praying they would get picked to work for a wage that’s less than 40 Pakistani rupees [less than $1] a day. They become instant addicts cooking the opium in large vats.”...

He helped kickstart a revolution in drug reform, with Vancouver's four-pillar approach to drug use: prevention, treatment, harm reduction and enforcement.

Over the years, other Canadian cities, including Edmonton, have instituted various projects based on the four-pillar model.

On Friday, MacPherson is to receive an award for his work at an international drug policy reform conference in New Mexico.

"What Donald MacPherson did was unprecedented and extraordinary," says Ethan Nadelmann, executive director of the U.S. Drug Policy Alliance which is bestowing the honour. "Serving under four mayors ... he provided the leadership, continuity and vision to transform Vancouver into a global leader of sensible drug policy reform....."

Prof Nutt criticised the reclassification of cannabis

Three more government advisers have resigned after the home secretary's sacking of his chief drugs adviser Prof David Nutt, the BBC has learned....

The three to resign were psychologist Dr John Marsden, Simon Campbell, a synthetic organic chemist who received a CBE for services to science, and pharmaceutical consultant Ian Ragan.

Earlier the home secretary said he stood by the decision to remove Prof Nutt but wanted to improve relations with the council, saying he would give "due weight" to their views in the future.

Prof Nutt was sacked after calling cannabis less harmful than alcohol and nicotine, and saying it was upgraded to Class B for political reasons...."

"All the while, Alberta's College of Physicians and Surgeons was investigating complaints against Dr. O'Connor, lodged by physicians at Health Canada, who suggested he had failed to provide evidence for his claims, and caused "undue alarm" in the community."

"This year, the investigation was completed. The College required Dr. O'Connor's permission to release its findings; he refused. Instead, in May, he joined Greenpeace on its "Stop the Tarsands" campaign to convince investors and governments in four European countries to boycott the oil sands, using claims about rampant illness among Alberta's aboriginals."

"That was untrue."

"In fact, the investigation report, leaked to the media this week, found Dr. O'Connor guilty of serious ethical breaches. "Silent DC sniper mastermind Muhammad executed

JARRATT, Va. – Sniper John Allen Muhammad refused to utter any last words as he was executed, taking to the grave answers about why and how he plotted the killings of 10 people that terrorized the Washington, D.C., area for three weeks in October 2002.

The 48-year-old died by injection at 9:11 p.m. Tuesday as relatives of the victims watched from behind glass, separated from the rest of the 27 witnesses at Greensville Correctional Center, south of Richmond.

Muhammad was executed for killing Dean Harold Meyers, who was shot in the head at a Manassas gas station during the spree across Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

He never testified or explained why he masterminded the shootings with the help of a teenage accomplice. That left questions unanswered about why he methodically hunted people going about their daily chores, why he chose his victims, including a middle schooler on his way to class, and how many victims there were."

For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his gods
Brave men will fight the fiercest foe
Despite the gravest odds
Today the foe amidst us
Walks upright and in the light
He fears naught but his holy book
That tells him he is right
To kill the infidel at hand
By any means possessed
He smiles the smile of conquest while
His victims are obsessed
With mortal things and mortal thoughts
Of living the good life
Avoiding confrontation and
Avoiding parlous strife
But come the day the masks fall off
Of Islam’s murderous face
And by its acts of savagery
Ignites the Christian race
Then only then will Christian men
Unite to stem the tide
And Islam’s terror gangsters will
Then have no place to hide
A burnt out western city will
Return a thousand fold
And western man the warrior
Will hark back to days of old
And will savage the black Muslims
Put them all beneath the sod
With the ashes of their fathers
And the temples of their god"

Unelected Senators spending LOTS of taxpayer cash. Nice.

Duffy P.E.I.'s most expensive senator
Last Updated: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

P.E.I.'s newest senator is shaping up to also be the Island's most expensive.

During his first three months in the red chamber, Conservative Senator Mike Duffy racked up more than $100,848 in travel and office expenses, more than double the average of what the other three Island senators spend in a typical quarter.

Duffy's rate of spending puts him in the top rank of senatorial expenses. An NDP-produced report showed the top spender for the 2008-09 year was Mobina Jaffer, a Liberal senator for British Columbia, at $323,173. Sustained over a year, Duffy's expenses would come in at $403,392...."

The only thing that's scarier than partisan blowboys pissing away taxpayer cash is the thought of Duffy and Baird at an all you can eat buffet.

Let's face it, until the press or a cross-section of liberal academics and politicians encounter jihad up close and personal, this PC BS is here for the long term.

As for the Queen, she's one in a million. Any picture of her, no matter the year, serves to remind one of her quiet beauty and dignity during the coronation which foreshadowed the mature and thoughtful leadership she's provided the UK all these years. The current crop of Brits don't deserve her.

Let's see now,an NDP produced report being reported by the CBC,and hardboiled continuously preaches about removing partisan blinders.I can think of something scarier than Duffy and Baird at the buffet table, the NDP at the helm with the CBC pushing their agenda.

the Dippers will never be in power bleet.

And the Cons said they'd do things differently than the Libranos.

Librano or Con, it's the same old song. Partisans just turn the channel if it's not what they want to hear.
