The Lesson of the Taliban: an impoverished third world government can nurture and enable an attack on the financial and military centers of the most powerful nation the world has ever known - and emerge victorious.

Is there nothing that Obama can't do?

“President Barack Obama does not plan to accept any of the Afghanistan war options presented by his national security team, pushing instead for revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government, a senior administration official said Wednesday. ”

Via Glenn Reynolds;

Just something that occurred to me today while trying to cross Fifth Ave in Manhattan during the Veteran’s Day Parade:

The towers fell in New York on 9/11/01, Kabul fell to American led forces on 11/14/01. That’s 65 days.

President Obama’s hand-picked replacement commander in Afghanistan, GEN McChrystal, delivered his Afghanistan war plans to President Obama on 8/30/09, and President Obama hasn’t acted on his General’s recommendations as of today, 11/11/09. That’s 73 days, and waiting.

Weak, ill-informed, emotionally damaged, self-involved, bitter and resentful all unwelcome character issues for leader of the free world.

But are they serious detractions when the pilot has thrust the levels hard forward into a steep dive? Allahu Akbar!!!

"The Man Who Despises America

The very next paragraph is going to make the nut jobs on the far left excitable beyond belief. I am not referring to all Democrats or even a majority of liberals. I am singling out the "they've-lost-all-touch-with-reality" crowd. This includes Media Matters for America led by the admitted hit-and-run, drunk-driving serial liar. The group includes the unshaven, bathrobe-clad unemployed who live in their mother's basement and are devout followers of MoveOn.Org. It is also the bitter, aging spinster working at the New York Times, the morbidly obese documentary film maker, and cable TV news' resident drama queen who hosts MSNBC's Countdown. They are about to simultaneously suffer from brain aneurisms. So without further delay, I'll say it.

Barack Obama despises America."

Pull the troops, now! Stop wasting our soldiers' lives for a "war" that has no goal, no strategy for an exit, and no parameters for a win.

How will we know when we have won? What is the goal.

The reason "O" needs more time is that there are lots of dollars to be transferred yet, there are still plans to be made.

Obama is attempting to usher in a new age of warfare, the time and resources limited community organizing warfighter system. Where soldiers are directly supported by social activists and Acorn employees. That should clean up that corruption problem!

Did he/didn't he:

Ask yourself "What would an underhanded sneak who's in over his head have done?" and you'll have your answer.

Present..kinda.

Actually, you may have stumbled upon something IA.

I, for one, would be in favour of sending ACORN to Afghanistan.

The great "0" thinks that if he brings the troops home they can then fight terrorists and not even leave the country.

Honestly, this lad can't walk and chew gum at the same time, let alone make a decision.

Funny thing is what occurred to me....

What if Karzai made the identical comments about the US government?

Equally if not more valid.....

maz2:

Bang on. Today, even on CNBC, when they were discussing the "employment conference", the ever amusing Rick Santelli was fulminating "Why now?! This should have happened 6-9 months ago."

This guy is going to make Paul Martin look positively decisive.

...Meanwhile the Governor of Texas is furious the Fed Government is dumping illegal aliens into small Texas towns instead of taking them back to Mexico...He thinks Obama is being vengeful towards Conservative Texas...He states Washington is taking the USA towards socialism and that people should rise up. "The Tea Parties need to double in size" and that "More politicians like the ones last week in other states need to be elected" he says.

Google Drudge Report for the link and watch the video.

R-E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N brewing!

Rise up America and Impeach the Enemy within!

W.'s legacy is that white people are hated more than ever around the globe.

Careful y'all - don't be unleashing Acorn's Special Forces - they'll be deploying subprime mortgages for all Afghanis - and that's total warfare beyond the ROE.

Goal of war in Afghanistan: elimination of a tyrannical government responsible for funding, training, and supplying muslim terrorists. Installation of a democratic government to serve the people of Afghanistan.
Strategy for exit: train Afghan military and police so they can provide the protection and stability needed to ensure the Taliban won't be able to regain power.
Parameters for win: achieve goal, implement exit strategy.
We will know we've won when there are no more UN troops in Afghanistan, and the democratically elected Afghan government is still in control of Afghanistan, and the Taliban are either still living in caves in the mountains or are dead.

c'mon kate... the last thing we wanna
do is hurt anybody's feelings.

Barry is channeling Paul Martin.

President Dithers.

And here I wondered how, as President, he would continue to vote "present" on the tough issues like he did as a Senator. Silly me.

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/24/fact_check_obamas_present_votes/

Maj. Jim Gant has a few suggestions that Obama should pay attention to. Real power in Afghanistan is tribal:

http://counterterrorismblog.org/2009/11/memo_to_obama_listen_to_jim_ga.php

The real long-term damage that BO will cause is the loss of Americas credibility and leadership credentials. BO has made the office of the President small beyond recognition. How can Americans expect people in foreign lands to stand-up against their oppressors in the name of liberty and global security when they know damn well the Americans will turn their backs on them in their time of need?

As Canadians are dieing in Afghanistan, BO plans to break his campaign promise and Americas commitment; yet, at the same time Americas standing request more troops from Canada remains!

If what this article suggests is true; your President is pathetic and you (Americans) should be ashamed. You people are letting this man betray everything you stand for.

Perhaps the meddling ambassador should venture outside Kabul occaisionally and he might sing a different tune.

Sure, he can object to more troops. Hell ... why not pull the existing troops out? But only on the condition that Mr. Eikenberry remain behind to clean up loose ends instead of scrambling to be the first one on the plane when the sh*t hits the fan.

I keep getting images of those helicopters on the roof of the American embassy in Saigon.

The arrogance of not accepting guidance from an expert, the hesitation and the outright self-congratulation continue to hit new highs.
For Christmas, I would like this guy gone.
And Sarah Palin's new book.
And a pony, if possible.

I would like Rick Hillier's book for Christmas. I would like Obama to spend Christmas in Afghanistan.

Expecting Owebama to make a decision is ridiculous. He was never picked to make decisions. He was picked to as a pretty face so the back room boys who are the ones really calling the shots could avoid detection. Of course the back room boys are a committee and as such can't decide what to order for lunch let alone what to do for Afghanistan so Owebama looks like a ditherer. A very pretty ditherer if he must say so himself.

That Windsor police chief is worse than the guys heading the FBI. And they're bad enough.
Bring back Jedgar. At least a cross dresser would piss off the AlaYahoo Aka-nutbars.

If Afghanistan is lost to the Taliban, it will be Obama's fault, and his fault alone. This is a replay of Vietnam where the military was hamstrung by the politicians. In that case though, LBJ was duped by his advisors. In this case, Obama is well aware of the situation.

w was a socialist;Pres Bush2 tried to bring education to America and freedom to Iraq and Afganistan and you think that the world hates whites because of it.You have either never read history or chose to ignore it.The former Soviet Union exported killing though out the world with the express purpose of expanding their territories.Britain,Germany,France,Spain,Belgium and others expanded to get more territory and not for reprisal for an attack.FDR and Truman responded to "a day that will live in infamy"with two(2)atomic bombs and thousands of Japanese fire bombed by the US army air force under the direction of Curtis LeMay.I am sure that if FDR and HST were in charge at 9/11,Iraq and Afganistan would have suffered the same fate.

My bet is that O sends about half the troops requested but to the Pak-A'stan border area.

Actually, we presently live a mile or two away from George and Laura Bush.

A funny thing that did not receive national attention happened within a couple of months of Bush leaving office.

He went over to a local Walmart to buy something, and while there saw an advertisement for senior citizens to join the Walmart family as employees.

Well, Bush has a sense of humor. He applied for the job. He said that now that he was out of office, he needed to start looking for work.

I wish that they would have published his application. That would have been fun.

So far as I know, Walmart rejected him as an employee. Too bad. He would have made a really good greeter.

In one of the few highlights of Farrenheit 9/11 I could barely stomach was Michael Moore ridiculing Bush for taking 7-1/2 minutes after he was informed of the 9-11 attacks to respond (The actual time was under five minutes) But this site has pointed out that Kabul fell in 65 days. Now, his holiness, Saint Obama, can't come to a decision in 73 days. I wonder if Michael Moore will make comment on that...I thought not.

I thought KevinB might say that Obama would make Paul Martin look brilliant. (Not decisive) I am sorry, there is simply nothing on this planet that could make Paul Martin look brilliant...except a pile of sawdust. Except that a pile of sawdust might have some use

Here's an unexpected apology from a prominent blog on the Left.

intersting words, always slipping by
"...is that 'white people are hated more than ever' around the globe".

So easily said and just as easily, whites are expected to accept this without protest - white people around the globe are hated, because they are white.

But of this fact I have no doubt. Whites are hated around the world and it seems, especially American whites.

Wow, Robert, if that is a left wing blog the comments certaintly don't show it. The heartfelt warmth for the Bush family seemed to radiate from the vast majority of the postings.

The criticism of Obama for his offhand and unemotional response to the muslim terrorist attack at Fort Hood from this left wing blog and from his fellow democrats and their fear of his socialism of America is growing daily.

Dave, I fully believe they are a legitimate left wing blog. They appear to be two gay guys who supported Hillary Clinton and are not fans of Obama.

In point of fact, I think the Fort Hood shooting separates those who are left of centre on many issues vs. those who are just rabid leftists. The latter feel that Bush, Reagan, Thatcher, etc. can do no right and that Obama can do no wrong.

I have yet to talk with two good friend of mine in Chicago, mother & daughter, who happen to be Jewish. They're both smart ladies but anyone who watches conventional leftist media over & over & over again gets brainwashed with truly nutty ideas. So much so that even Jews will refuse to speak out in favour if Iran's leaders and murderers at Ft. Hood. Naomi Klein comes to mind.

I think he is dithering because he needs to escape Afg. to get hisvotes for the health scare bill.

"Actually, we presently live a mile or two away from George and Laura Bush."

Cool! Greg's getting us all autographs! Or maybe a dinner invite?

Judging by statements front the white house, it looks like obozo is signaling a retreat faster than anyone could have imagined. And the message from the envoy came at a suspiciously convenient time.

Chris in the B:

Hey, before he got elected, Martin did a good job of running CSL. Bambam's never done a good job of running anything, just posing.

Robert, I thought it was interesting that so many of the posters got their information from the MSM about the pillary of George Bush and have now turned against this leftist source for biased lies. I have friends like yours who simply will never change their minds, they are brain dead leftists and always will be but gradually others are seeing the light so all hope is not lost.

I think incidents like Fort Hood will be the watershed that finally makes people see the dangers of socialism and islamism.

"Cool! Greg's getting us all autographs! Or maybe a dinner invite? "

Dang, a Texas barbecue sounds good to these ol' ears (and belly).

I submit that Paul Martin's success in the past has solely been because of Chairman Mo. Martin's was helped into a top position at Power corp by Strong. (Probably at the urging of Paul Martin Sr. who needed a job for his dimwit son) In Martin Jr., Chairman Mo probably found the perfect puppet that he could manipulate. His assistance in purchasing CSL from Power Corp was just another step.

The only reason why Martin was successful running CSL is only due to the fact that CSL had the monopoly on shipping grain on the Great Lakes. No wonder, the Liberals want to maintain the Wheat Board, undoubtedly, Chairman Mo profits from that as well.

The only cavalry that I can imagine Obama sending in is those unicorns that he promised us.

The Obama has zero Integrity. It is integrity that separates the works of mankind; those without a soul are destined to fail.

The Obama WH does not recognize that the enemy of America is "Islam Jihad"... Why would anyone think they could defend anyone much less our troops in the field? They are in denial, just like LBJ who was the coward of the 20th century.

The Obama choice to ignore Islam Jihad leaves a dim future for ALL Muslims... look for holes in the world Map when we cleanup after this useless
turd...

Obama is failing in every single area of his responsibility.

The Economy - which he insisted would collapse in an apocalpytic disaster unless His Stimulus was passed..and it was. Without being read or debated. Imagine that: Congress, which represents the power of the people, was disempowered and not allowed to read or debate a bill. Imagine that.

Obama told America that IF it were passed, the economy would revive, unemployment would never go above 8% and millions of jobs would be created.
The economy is faltering, unemployment is at 10.2%, jobs haven't been created. What does Obama do? He calls a Seminar in December, to discuss What To Do. How's that for leadership?

America has now had its second major terrorist attack in its land - at Ft. Hood. On Obama's watch. Not on Bush's watch. Obama refuses to recognize it as terrorism; it's a 'tragedy' to him. He first commented on it, at a Conference on Natives, when he complimented someone on receiving the 'Congressional Medal of Honour' (no, wrong, Mr. President, that's only given to military men)..and asked for a 'shout out'...and then, finally, belately, after the shout out cheers...referred to the Ft. Hood disaster.

Obama doesn't recognize the reality of terrorism; the war is now called 'overseas contingency operation' and terrorists are 'insurgents', and the CIA is under attack by the White House..and..

Afghanistan? He met with Gen. McChrystal only once in 7 months, for half an hour...and only after it had been leaked that he hadn't met with him. The request for more troops? That's been sitting on his desk for almost five months. And all Obama does is call for yet another seminar discussion.

Health Care? Its agenda is for a state take-over of 1/6 of the economy, to be run by the state. Oh, and you can be jailed by this state if you refuse to buy their health care insurance. America the Free...Not under Obama's Watch.

The fact that the American people don't want it? Irrelevant to Obama. He lies, misinforms, manipulates...for His Need to Control.

Cap and Trade? Another disastrous agenda to control the economy by the state.

Iran? Under Obama's Watch - it will get a nuclear weapon. Despite Obama's promise of a 'nuclear free world'. Just watch.

Israel and Palestine? He'll throw them both under the bus. Under Obama's Watch.

Friends of the US? He's insulted them all, and now they ignore him.

Enemies of the US? He's emboldened them all, including the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

Obama has achieved nothing positive. Nothing. And finally, more and more people are criticizing him. His reaction is anger; he doesn't like being criticized..

In Chicago, you cannot so much as run for the school board without a nod from the Daley machine. You don't get that nod if you don't agree to pay-for-play. If Obama had not agreed to at least that form of corruption, no one would have ever heard of him. Now he's lecturing others about corruption. I now know how Alice felt sliding down the hole.

Obama is trying to emulate the greatest orator in American history, (a Republican) and its most humble.
"I believe in national humiliation, fasting, and prayer, in keeping a day holy to the Lord, devoted to the humble discharge of religious duties proper to such a solemn occasion. ... I believe in Him whose will, not ours should be done. ... I believe the will of God prevails; without Him all human reliance is vain, without the assistance of that Divine Being I cannot succeed; with that assistance I cannot fail.
O believe I am a humble instrument in the hands of our Heavenly Father etc. etc.
Abraham Lincoln

This is the kind of attitude that gets people killed. Before our troops fall victim of Obama dithering, they should bring them home. And our Canadian troops as well. Then, wait for the blast and practice wearing the burqua and paying dhimmi taxes for the rest of our lives and the next 20 generations. THAT is what is going to happen if we do not get that child in the oval office to stop wetting himself and looking in the mirror and DO SOMETHING about the two wars we are fighting. If this happened in WWll there would be arrests and imprisonment for such display of cowardice.

We Americans elected Obama according to our Constitution. If he doesn't want to fight, we should bring the troops home and suffer the consequences together. Don't think there won't be consequences to handing over a sovereign territory to terror supporting warlords and abandoning out local allies to their tender mercies.

But we don't need to worry. If somebody based in Taliban Afghanistan creates a man caused disaster in the West somewhere, I am sure that we can forward then an Interpol arrest warrant and take care of the issue quite simply in a court of law.
