When Padraic O’Brian bombed a restaurant in London with massive loss of life, the media was puzzled. “True, he used to go to IRA rallies,” said a cousin, “and he would rant for hours about how the British invaders should be wiped out” but the media reported that this had nothing to do with this attack which was caused by his psychological problems. As he fired at pursuing police, O’Brian yelled: “Up the republic!”
The Guardian reported: “His Irish identity and political views had nothing to do with the motives for this tragic act.” The newspaper urged that the main lesson coming out of this event was the need to fight more firmly to ensure that Northern Ireland was handed over to the Irish Republic and that Israel be wiped off the map.

  4. OK, could somebody tell me the practical difference between an ideology that can successfully troll the enemy population for the mentally ill, and turns that illness into an effective weapon, and an ideology plants recruits sane operatives and turns them into an effective weapon.

  5. I wish I could find the satirical piece I read on the web about a year after 9/11.
    with the fake dateline of 2011, it was about announcing President Bush’s impeachment after intelligence agencies refused to allow 19 suspicious Muslims board three planes on Sept 11, 2001. He was accused of supporting racial profiling etc and kicked out of office…
    I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it anymore.

  6. While watching a cable news report last night, the reporter covered a visit to Hasan’s appartment. Among the things they found was a container about the size of a shoe box, filled with medicine bottles. Most were prescription bottles he had prescribed for himself. The reported mentioned in passing that some were used to treat HIV. If true, and I have NOT seen this anywhere else, there may be an element of “Death by Cop” along with everything else in this.

Logic would suggest that a playbook has been developed over the years to guide the US MSM leftist agenda and help assure permanent political success in the long term for its allies foreign and domestic. To make any sense of how the Islamic diaspora in Europe or the US could be made to fit into such a construct to benefit the left seems a bit like trying to square a circle.
    Official Islam plays a minor role to help drive Judeo/Christian morality and influence from public organizations and public discourse but the secular humanist left has that well in hand anyway. There must a more practical proposition involved. Perhaps the left has dreamed up a 22nd century future where their version of modern society is so wholesome and seductive to most Muslims that it collapses their seige mentality societal structure and their “best and brightest” take over the “reserved” chairs waiting for them.
    Of course getting past the imams and Israel to reach their earthly socialist paradise is likely to take a bit longer than even they expect.
