Elevating a 9/11 Truther to “czar” – is there nothing Obama can’t do?

President Obama’s “green jobs” adviser could become a mounting liability for the Obama administration, as the latest revelation about Van Jones shows his belief that the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks could have been an inside job.
Jones joined the “9/11 truther” movement by signing a statement in 2004 calling for then-New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and others to launch an investigation into evidence that suggests “people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.”
The statement asked a series of critical questions hinting at Bush administration involvement in the attacks and called for “deeper inquiry.” It was also signed by former Rep. Cynthia McKinney and Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans.
The discovery comes after Jones had to apologize Wednesday night for “offensive words” he uttered in February when he called Republicans “assholes.” He said the remarks “do not reflect the views of this administration” and its bipartisan aims.
But such statements just scratch the surface of Jones’ past commentary.
He also has consistently leaned on racially charged language, pointing the finger at “white polluters and the white environmentalists” for “steering poison” to minority communities, as he makes the case for lifting up low-income and minority communities with better environmental policy
A declared “communist” during the 1990s, Jones once associated with a group that looked to Mao Zedong as an inspiration.

Polite, moderate conservatism must be on the shelf, at least for the present – smack these bastards* non-stop, all the time, on every issue, in any tone suitable.

    They are TERRIFIED of the man. He called the present economic situation over a year before it happened and even nailed the causes. He gets more viewers in a dead zone time slot than all their favourites do during prime time. Combined. And worst of all? Those viewers and his radio listeners are doing just that, listening. He is screwing up the message with all kinds of nasty facts and stuff.
    Anyone here still able to view littlegreenfootballs or has Chuck banned everyone but the chosens IPs? I would love to see the contortions that he is going through on this.

    Obama, I believe, would be happy to be seen as a mere salesman/puppet. I have a friend who actually believes he’s being thwarted by the hard left of the party.     You’ve failed to convince me that Obama has any ideology – marxist or otherwise. He is unable to intellectually involve himself with any ideology. He is also THE sole voice to listen to on TV politics these days. None comes even close to the kind of in depth analysis this guy does. Not even FOX’s Hannity, Greta or O’reily.
    BTW, Beck is as critical of the Republicans, he think both parties need the boot out of Washington. I agree.
    He is also somewhat scared for his family right now. Bodyguards are now live ins at his home apparently.
    Ulianov, FOX does not care if the Obama pressured corporations pull their ads during Beck. For each one that pulls out, 5 will be in line to take their spot. That’s the beauty of capitalism. With the kinds of ratings Glenn gets, he is a gold mine for FOX. He is currently tied with the CBS Evening news!

  29. Over the past few weeks, I’ve learned to look past Chairman Ulianov’s abhorrent, pea-brained epigrams. I’ve learned to look past some of the illiterate things Ulianov has said. I’ve even learned to look past his attempts to give lunatics control of the asylum. But I cannot stay silent about Ulianov’s incomprehensible and unforgivable audacity regarding a specific event that recently occurred. Before I say anything else, let me remind Ulianov that he has gotten away with so much for so long that he’s lost all sense of caution, all sense of limits. If you think about it, only a man without any sense of limits could desire to defile the air and water in the name of profit. He insists that the few of us who complain regularly about his tactics are simply spoiling the party. That lie is a transparent and strained effort to keep us from noticing that there’s an important difference between me and Ulianov. Namely, I am willing to die for my cause. Ulianov, in contrast, is willing to kill for his—or, if not to kill, at least to capitalize on our needs and vulnerabilities.
    All kidding aside, Ulianov is attracted to pauperism like a moth to a candle. That’s probably obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse. Nevertheless, I suspect that few people reading this letter are aware that Ulianov’s spokesmen like to say, “Ulianov’s fulminations are not worth getting outraged about.” Such frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. If someone wants me to believe something pusillanimous like that, that person will have to show me some concrete evidence. Meanwhile, I intend to show you that we must deal stiffly with intrusive flimflammers who give voice, in a totally emotional and non-rational way, to Ulianov’s deep-rooted love of gnosticism. If we don’t, future generations will not know freedom. Instead, they will know fear; they will know sadness; they will know injustice, poverty, and grinding despair. Most of all, they will realize, albeit far too late, that Ulianov’s idea of warped fanaticism is no political belief. It is a fierce and burning gospel of hatred and intolerance, of murder and destruction, and the unloosing of an abusive blood-lust. It is, in every sense, a malignant and pagan religion that incites its worshippers to a homicidal frenzy and then prompts them to calumniate helpless agitators.
    What I find frightening is that some academics actually believe Ulianov’s line that we should abandon the institutionalized and revered concept of democracy. In this case, “academics” refers to a stratum of the residual intelligentsia surviving the recession of its demotic base, not to those seekers of truth who understand that Ulianov is a man utterly without honor, without principles, without a shred of genuine patriotism. That’s why I say that he makes so many laughably mindless statements, it boggles the mind to think about them. Let me rephrase that: He will probably never understand why he scares me so much. And Ulianov unmistakably does scare me: His allegations are scary, his canards are scary, and most of all, he’s more than pathetic. Ulianov’s mega-pathetic. In fact, to understand just how pathetic he is, you first need to realize that only the assembled and concentrated might of a national passion rearing up in its strength can give Ulianov condign punishment. If, after hearing facts like that, you still believe that Ulianov is the way, the truth, and the light, then there is indeed no hope for you. I hope I haven’t bored you by writing an entire letter about Chairman Ulianov. Still, this letter was the best way to explain to you that that last statement is almost a tautology.
