  2. If I didn’t care, would I be asking why Henry Louis Gates is described as a prominent well-known Harvard Scholar (who I never heard of) and who is only described as a documentary filmmaker? What, like Michael Moore? Is Michael Moore a scholar?

A cruel summer has brought Manitoba’s third-coldest July on record.
According to Environment Canada, only twice before has any year’s seventh month in this province been as chilly as the stretch of 31 days we’ve just passed.

    “Obama’s revealing body language
This picture truly is worth at least a thousand words:
I am stunned that the official White House Blog published this picture and that it is in the public domain. The body language is most revealing.
Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own. So who is compassionate? And who is so self-involved and arrogant that he is oblivious?
In my own dealings with the wealthy and powerful, I have always found that the way to quickly capture the moral essence of a person is to watch how they treat those who are less powerful. Do they understand that the others are also human beings with feelings? Especially when they think nobody is looking.
I think this photo constitutes another major Obama blunder.
As some American Thinker commentators point out, this picture becomes a metaphor for ObamaCare. The elderly are left in the back, with only the kindness of the Crowleys of the world, the stand up guys, to depend on. The government has other priorities.”

    Propping up Air Canada
National Post Published: Saturday, August 01,
Ottawa has stumbled deeper into the practice of picking winners and losers from amid corporate Canada with its decision to pump $250-million into struggling Air Canada.
Some of the money will come from the Canada Account, the same pool used to bail out General Motors and Chrysler. The fund was established to promote export-oriented businesses but will be used to prop up Air Canada even though it produces nothing for export. In effect, it’s become a slush fund for failing companies favoured by politicians.
Ottawa justified the infusion by noting Air Canada is dealing with “extraordinary circumstances” — seeking to survive in a competitive industry during difficult times. But no money is going to rival airlines WestJet or Porter, though both face the same challenges and continue to thrive…..”
Librano or Con, its the same old song…

“Weird Weather Keeps Holiday Crowds off Beaches
Korea is experiencing atypical cool weather in the middle of summer, which coupled with the summer rainy season has translated into fewer vacationers visiting the country’s beaches.
The Korea Meteorological Administration on Thursday said the average temperature during July 18-24 was between 20 to 24 degrees Celsius or 2-4 degrees below average, while the average daily high was between 23 and 28 degrees or 2-5 degrees lower than average.
In Busan, where Korea’s most popular beaches are located, temperatures did not rise above 30 degrees for a single day in July, as against seven days in July last year. From July 1 until Wednesday, 4.38 million people visited the seven beaches in downtown Busan, less than half the numbers seen during the same period last year. Vendors at the beaches have been hit with an unprecedented slump in sales during peak season. Haeundae Beach, which opened on July 1, saw 1.72 million visitors this month, just 48 percent of the number seen during the same period last year. A total of 1.24 million people visited Gwangalli Beach, just 47 percent of last July’s visitors.”

“University of Waterloo Weather Station blog”
    July 2009 Summary
An historically cold July with average precipitation
Wow, that was July? Really? Well yes it was and it was the second coldest July since records in the area began in 1915. That is when you consider the daily high temperatureswhere only July of 1992 was slightly colder (this year’s average high temperatures were 22.6°C while it was only 22.2°C in 1992, compared to the average of 26.0°C). We only had 2 days this month where the high temperature was above average, so that makes 29 below average days.
The daily low temperatures came in at only 1.0 degrees below average which doesn’t even rank in the top 10 (or bottom 10 depending on how you look at it) when looking at data since 1915.”

Here comes the bride Hamas style. Since the video is in Arabic maybe it’s not what we think it is.”
Posted by: Person of little or no color at July 31, 2009 11:33 PM —- That is disturbing,to say the least. It is probably best not to watch it until after the long weekend. It is also noteworthy that the article from AFP does not mention the age of the ‘brides’ when reporting on this ‘joyous occasion’.

  10. My take on ‘wafergate’.— I think this story goes much deeper into the sleaze that is our media and their liberal masters. Why hasn’t our national voice, the cbc, come out and apologize for running a concocted story ? The cbc spent millions covering the Mulroney/KHS BS. A couple of weeks ago they sent a news crew to a funeral in a “volatile” region of Afgfhanistan to dig up dirt on our troops and by association, the Harper gov’t. I cannot believe that once this ‘story’ hit the paper ,that they did not immediately send in their hounds to sniff out anything else that might malign PMSH. They probably had their ‘investigative’ journalist search through the hotel’s garbage looking for an unconsumed host ,which if found they would have sent in for forensic analysis. The cbc has people in New Brunswick, are we to believe that they did not contact the reporters ? There is more to this story. Unfortunately,I doubt if anyone will ask the poobahs at cbc the important question which is,” When did you first become aware that this story was fabricated?” I also wrote to the newspaper and to the cbc asking them basically the same question on Wendesday. No reply from either and I am not holding my breath waiting.

  11. Well kids, real pro ball returns to Calgary tonight in the form of the green and white… I think our “more eastern” neighbors would like to complete this road trip out west (here and B.C.) with at least a 50:50 record before things get easier for them with that Hamilton game in mid august… oh yeah, they’ll be real hungry for a win by that stage of the game…!
Both the home town favorites and their “more eastern” adversaries are not where they expected to be with 2 and 2 records.. it’s early days, but they’re still fighting for first place in the west.
7.pm start, clear weather and a high of 29 today. Tickets? ha! no chance-y… and cheers Lance.

  12. Goreacle Report: Update.
MSM/Randy Boswell, Canwest News Service are “choking” on the Arctic Ice Worms* which have returned to their nesting ice cover “pockets”.
    …-
“Ice pockets choking Northern Passage: officials
Despite predictions from a top U.S. polar institute that the Arctic Ocean’s overall ice cover is headed for another “extreme” meltdown by mid-September, the Environment Canada agency monitoring our northern waters says an unusual combination of factors is making navigation more difficult in the Northwest Passage this year after two straight summers of virtually clear sailing.
In both the wider, deep-water northern corridor and the narrower, shallower southern branches of the passage, the Canadian Ice Service says pockets of more extensive winter freezing and concentrations of thicker, older ice at several key “choke points” are complicating ship travel.”

We’ll be happy when the ice worms nest again.” (H/T Wilf Carter)

  13. “Hamas sponsors mass wedding for little girls”
Just a thought. That Galloway character gave $45,000 to Hamas. 450 children are married to pedophiles and each given a gift of $500 from Hamas. Is that $500 for the ‘bride’ and $500 for the groom?.Coincidence, maybe, but I am glad he didn’t give them more….Enjoy the weekend.Stamps by 14.

  15. More Goreacle Report:
“Falkland Islands: Antarctic air flow brings record snow fall
Weatherman Justin Chamberlain said the Islands had been under the influence of a highly unstable convective south/southwest air flow originating in Antarctica, keeping air temperatures below freezing. At times the wind was strong or gale force, leading to blizzard conditions and snowdrifts.
The duration of the Antarctic showery feed was unusual, he said, due in part to an area of high pressure covering much of South America, which blocked the usual mobile westerly flow.
Forty-three centimetres of snow were recorded, a new record at Mount Pleasant. It is comparable to July 2004, when a total of 33cm was recorded, and May 1995, when 29cm was recorded.”

“Media Matters desperate to discredit embarrassing Obama photo
What’s a left-winger to do when Barack Obama gets caught showing his character? Deny, discredit and denigrate, of course!
As a purely voluntary, patriotic watcher of the tattletale brigade over at Media Matters, I’m subscribed to their daily Rush Limbaugh Wire. So, every single weekday, I get 3 separate, detailed emails in my inbox giving me the leftist lowdown on Rush. I nearly ruined my keyboard with spit-out coffee Friday, when the hour 2 Limbaugh Wire arrived in my box.
As many readers may recall, Media Matters was the brainchild of Hillary Clinton and receives heavy funding from George Soros. Mostly college interns are paid to listen and report on conservative talk radio shows and their stated purpose is to correct the wild “disinformation” being spread by the vast right-wing conspiracy.
On Friday, Media Matters tattlers sent an email, referring to a blog item, written by our esteemed AT editor, Dr. Thomas Lifson, and described on air by El Rushbo.
First, the MM tattletale wrote a summary of Rush’s remarks on the AT blog:
“Then it was on to the American Thinker blog, critiquing a photograph of Obama walking down the White House steps with Gates and Crowley. The Thinker writer and Rush were bothered that Obama wasn’t helping Gates down the steps, but Crowley was. Rush explained that his father told him the best way to judge someone’s character is to watch how they treat people who can’t do anything for them.”
    So far, so good.
But, of course, Media Matters’ purpose is to dissemble Rush’s words, telling their readers the “real truth.” So, in the eyes of the leftist spinmasters, a real picture could not possibly be taken at face value and analyzed by a rational, intelligent human being, like Dr. Thomas Lifson. Convincing their readers of the right-wing-nut-hood of everything mentioned on Rush’s show is the goal.
Toward that end, the MM tattletale went on to characterize the AT blogger’s description of the picture in question as “inane drivel” from the right-wing “fringe.” The blog showed a picture of a helpful Sergeant Crowley assisting handicapped Professor Gates down the steps at the White House Thursday, while a careless, arrogant President Obama walked ahead, too self-important to be bothered with the old man.
The picture is plain as day; it was on the White House website.”
