“she is not sufficiently intellectual”
If you’re basing that on what the MSM has spewed, then their hatchet job has worked.
If you’re looking for an intellectual philsopher king, look no further than that crappy Trudeau and how bad he was for this country. Count Iffy of Indecisiveville, is another “intellectual”. Both of these guys lack common sense, something Mrs. Palin has an abundance of. Stephane Dion, another “intellectual”. Need I say more? How well did that work out?
Personally, I think Mrs. Palin will wait until 2016. The country and by extension, the world, should be in sufficiently bad shape by then. Some of her common-folk common sense will be very badly needed.
And while we’re on the subject of one being “sufficiently intellectual” for the job, how about O’s saying there were what, 56 states? Saying he doesn’t speak “Austrian”? Making fun of the Special Olympics on Leno’s show? Sorry, but that doesn’t sound very intellectual to me.
I guess he’s not sufficiently intellectual, either. But look, he became POTUS. But because he comes from the far left reaches of politics, that can be overlooked. Never mind that it’s really the teleprompter helping him along. He can’t speak coherently without it.
But Obama is smart enough to be Pres. Go figure!
Palin is facing federal embezzlement charges. She won’t be running for anything but her public life for a long while.
Incidentally, upon reading the whole thread I notice extra-chromosome Leftard Nelson has “apologized” for his “hurtful” words.
Reality check time. Either Mr. Nelson wrote the “comedy” and the “apology” both at once as an exercise in career boosting (there is no such thing as bad publicity). Or he stupidly let slip his real opinion as Leftists sometimes do, and frantically covered his @ss upon being told he was off-side. Big City Lib’s recent faux pas with Orthodox Jews comes to mind as an example.
As opposed to Anne Coulter who says mean things to the Left on purpose and tells the likes of Mr. Nelson to go pound salt when they demand, DEMAND she apologize for her “hurtful” words.
Words only “hurt” when they hit close to home. Anne Coulter’s aim is near perfect.
Calling Mr. Nelson a retard is a disservice to the -many- retarded and brain injured children and adults I have known and worked with over the years, all of whom have more moral sense than Mr. Nelson if not his ability to function in society. They need protection from the likes of Mr. Nelson not from Anne Coulter or The Phantom.
I use the word RETARD because I know it will irritate my target audience: Leftards. You people need a kicking, this is the best I can do in print. Ask me for an apology in person, see what happens.
Rutledge, that is not true, and i suspect you know that.
I think the left is HOPING Palin is facing embezzlement charges.
I’ll believe it when it actually happens.
Kate, you should use a repeating heading just like “The Sound of Settled Science” and call it “The Stoning of Sarah P”. If you’ve seen the trailers for “The Stoning of Soraya M.” you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Lets put this stupid “embezzlement” thing to bed.
From the LA Times:
Despite rumors of a looming controversy after Palin’s surprise announcement Friday that she will leave office this month, some of them published in the blogosphere, the FBI’s Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.
“There is absolutely no truth to those rumors, that we’re investigating her or getting ready to indict her,” Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. “It’s just not true.”

Eeyore,
“Ann’s commentary is tasteless and decidedly non-PC…but I haven’t heard anything vile yet.”
Tasteless is a nice way of saying she didn’t mean to be mean. I would believe that. But then she went and said she wanted to poison Justice Stevens.
I am not interested in a point-by-point debate. Go use your arguments to win brownie points in whichever school/debating club/office water-cooler debate you spend your time in. All I have said, in very simple terms, is that this kind of idiocy is part of the democratic political circus. Republicans do it. Dems do it. I hardly see the point of engaging in these ‘pot calling the kettle black’ diatribes where the side you support is not wrong at all for doing precisely the thing you are criticizing the other side for.
“Then they excuse their own behaviour by pointing out the misbehaviour of their opponents…as if that exonerates themselves.”
Nobody’s excusing anyone. He’s an idiot and needs to be treated like one. I am not justifying his existence on the basis of Ann. However, there is a sad reality in the fact that both these idiots have a large fan base. They are accepted in the political mainstream, partly because people like you insist that they aren’t that bad. Frankly, they are. I am not talking censorship, but I do expect some decency from these ‘pundits’.
Of course, despite my pretty explicit criticism of Nelson, the ideological hacks here react sharply to criticism of even one on their side. I expect the independent minds in question will show me how I support Nelson and what I have said to warrant the following:
Larry Bennett:
“Never heard of this Erik Sean Nelson or his buddy Diddler, but both of them are examples of the real definition of “retard”.”
limflanman:
“Nelson and twiddler are from the same gene pool that causes extreme hatred and why a pair of them cannot reproduce anything but slimy thoughts”
What slimy thoughts would those be? would they go anything along the lines of:
“the intent is equally disgusting in both cases.”
Your knee-jerk reaction of Ann suggests a lack of critical thought. Political hackery and ideological blindness is for teenagers. Grow up.
“twiddler or diddler or whatever it is, you obviousy read Ann Coulter every week, which I find amusing”
No I read the National Review every week. And boy am I glad to see her gone.
The Phantom
“As opposed to Anne Coulter who says mean things to the Left on purpose”
Ann propagated poisoning a Judge. If that “hits close to home”, either the Judge belongs in Jail for being a serial poisoner, or Ann belongs in Jail for making a threat.
Not that I expect you to give a damn. You are just apologizing for a woman who got sacked by a magazine for emoting instead of reasoning. Its a knee jerk reaction. She thinks like you ergo she can’t possibly be wrong. The Phantom, like God, is always correct. Yawn. Take off that ideological band thats blocking your view of reality.
Skip
“I see talent in her that’s reflected not in what she knows (and I expect its a lot more than what she’s given credit for), but what she knows to do.”
She was certainly fresh in the beginning, but I am beginning to grow tired of her “the media is mean to me” routine that is becoming a little too common place. Reagan got it worse and never complained. Palin can’t stop.
And for all those issues about her intellectual capacity, its pretty clear that while she is pretty smart, she merely repeats common talking points on some of the most important subjects of the day, which suggests a poor understanding and rarely, if ever, inspires confidence.
She had the potential to be a political superstar, but I think she’s blown it. Her biggest opponents arent the Democrats – she is going to face a stiffer challenge from the likes of Jindal within the party. I can’t see her bouncing back. One gaffe too many.
William F Buckley Jr once said, “I’d rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.”
Buckley was certainly not anti-intellectual.
He knew full well the sham and the incapacity that was often concealed by the affectations of culture.
He knew there was the real thing, and then he understood the facade of culture and literacy masking inability.
And regrettably, this is what the left does not seem to understand.
They want to suppose that the job of president requires someone with endless social refinements.
Well, if this were France perhaps it would be true. I understand that when a French politician writes an autobiography it has to be loaded with literary allusions, asides to ancient history, and perhaps a spattering of quotes from various languages.
However, what we need in the United States is someone who is genuine and capable and who prefers transparency and accountability to concealment behind the artifice of their superiority.
A great deal of international relations can be understood when one realizes that it is mostly people carrying on like they were in high school. Naturally, there are areas requiring expertise in a variety of subjects.. economics the military, etc., etc. But one needn’t dress in haute couture fashion to know something about these subjects.
After the left’s success denigrating Bush, they apparently feel that they have discovered a device: Impugning a person’s character and making fun of their family as the high point of their disagreement.
They drag the political discourse down to its lowest common denominator while they scream that snobbery and artful affectations are what really matter.
There are some areas that Palin is weak in. It won’t take long with the proper experts for her to come up to speed. She is a person of ability, shrewdness, and genuineness who needs no support from artifice to give her the appearance of gravitas.
You know, right now I’m reading a book called “Madness under the Royal Palms”, by Laurence Leamer. And snobbery is demonstrated in every conceivable social situation simply on the basis that one person has more money than another. The left’s manipulated mass movement attack on Palin is cut from the exact same cloth.
Very well said, Greg in Dallas.
“There are some areas that Palin is weak in.” Agreed.
There’s lots of areas Zero is weak in too, but of course he was given a free pass.
I’ve just been over too HuffPo (God help me); the quality of the “comedy” writing aside, I’m amazed by the vitriol; what has Sarah Palin DONE to these people?
Oh, and Erik Sean Nelson’s apology includes this sentence: “Within ten minutes of my post I recieved some emails from the loved ones of the retarded and I saw that my piece was hurtful.”
ESN writes for HuffPo and he’s not even savvy enough to learn basic PC lingo. I wonder what his IQ tests in at.
twaddle said: “Ann propagated poisoning a Judge.”
Uh huh? Propagated? Interesting use of the Queen’s English there, twaddle -r.
But ok, Annie “git yer gun” Coulter said some judge should be poisoned? I missed that one. Which judge, particularly, and what nightmare did they let go on a technicality?
Annie’s know for being a mean girl, not a stupid one. I’m willing to admit she says harsh, mean, nasssty stuff. That’s why I like her. Imbeciles of the tolerant Left need somebody harshing their self-satisfied mellow from time to time.
So if Annie says some random, un-named judge needed killin’, unless you’ve got some specifics that show otherwise, I’m good with it.
Next troll, please.
Nelson has published an apology, and, IMHO, it’s better than either of Letterman’s. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/erik-sean-nelson/a-post-apology_b_225568.html
Posted by: Silicon Valley Jim at July 5, 2009 10:09 AM
I think you give him too much credit, SV. It reads to me more like a non-apology apology (i.e. I’m sorry if I offended).
Can we say politician and celebrities and business people are have bad choice and bad children as compare with other normal or mid class or even poor family that their children are spoiled because they are too busy to act good parents may be in some area if the parent not have life or time can affect children grow too from health from mental problems or all strange or drugs we can hear among them
Money and power and happiness and love of family is good how to adopt with politic of business need more time from you or public who need your attention become your really baby not your family
The big mistake politician and some celebrities did in history to
Allow people even saw their children and interfere their roles as priority of politic or sing a song as an example of Michael Jackson to brought his love to show his daughter called blanket to world and it hit him later
Mistake palin did was to show how much she loves her family and even show her family to public
While she should not all is private and not related to public life later media hit him using his private life to interfere in his political way
on view of she is so emotional and get even respond to some media it is proof she still not ready to hit the public critics over right or wrong and some times when you are not respond to stupid question you will answer them properly to answer them and fight over nonsense issue
Weakness of Palin was recognized by media is
dependency to her children while all mother may feel what she feel and may get anger and frustrated but hay that is politic she choose and in public we have bad and good and stranger to handle with them not all are good
she is not good in team work to go and kiss hand of all Julini in old Mayer New York or spokesperson for me more like intelligent for USA are David Leatherman (may be time for him to go too) for sure in New York too then she can or may get warn to do what the Conservative leader told her to do and she refuse and she quiet
She was from small community may not ready to handle big communities yet other weakness I saw in Palin she quit and she got more funding from her fan to support her financially too it is look like bail out to her if she quiet she can get more funding
She can not act surprise without let her party know or agree with her decision therefore
We can conclude that is end of Palin not the beginning as I predict
Being good or likable is not enough to run
Presidency she must be mentally ready to fight all problems is she ready? I would say NO
Dealing with public and all different groups in USA is needed more experience or people who support her to do so.
Plus USA has more and better than Palin If she fail once it is better look for winer for next time or run
The voice was good though that Women can be elected as President too or vice president that message stay as her legacy and that is end of it Good bye Palin I recommended to take care her children before get higher job and do not bring them to politic are not ready too and not needed to public talk about them
===
In Middle East so many woman has 7 up to 9 some goes to 12 children
In USA we saw Angelina Jolie made it by vitro or adoption to take I think up to 7 kids
She has money and not care about all goes too. in case of Michael Jackson he love kids he was small child when enter in entertainment news and love to share when he has poor house and then offer of million made him happy in those period to create more song now he tried to transfer those enjoyment to other kids as fantasy world of never land (never happened) as also King Elvis called it different world of …land for his mansion house.
To make his house for entertainment for music and love his children at least he showed he has heart in different not acceptable mentality later hit him too. public may accept or reject certain way or treat and sensitive issue of children and blame easy to parents if anything went wrong
As Elvis Presley’s wife broke his heart and His daughter broke heart of Michael Jackson
And now Palin broke her heart because her children related to her choice and politic to make money for her family not worth it really!!
Ok, I should be more careful what I ask for. Sorry Kate! ~:D
**The age of dueling is long past, so Erik Sean Nelson knows that he can get away with publicizing anything his slimy, worthless, scummy brain spits out. But on the odd chance that he’d like to back up his words like a man – well, I’m here, Kate should have my email.**

Yeah it is a pity….
hypothetically I would flip you for him….and hold your coat if I lost the toss…..and ensure he didn’t win both rounds……..
Seriously, that is the lefty way, resorting to violence in intellectual defeat….we are better than that….
We do reserve the right to hit back…….
However it is such a release to hypothicize……
Why is anyone surprised why Nelson (or philboy, for that matter) say these utterly horrid things? They can because someone allows it but what kind of person would mock someone with a mental disability or explode in a series of irrational epithets (“she’s bad because I hate her” and the like)? An @$$hole, that’s who.
So- either these scribes muster up the courage to walk up to Sarah Palin and call her these things TO HER FACE or wait for karma to kick them in the stomach.
The Huffington Post won’t be around forever and it’s a small world so you are bound to run into Sarah Palin or someone who likes her alot (which quite few people, actually). Pony up, as they say.
The writer received emails from “friends of the retarded”.. his words.
Nice of his mom to write him.
sasquatch said: “Seriously, that is the lefty way, resorting to violence in intellectual defeat…”
Sir, I respectfully disagree. Mob violence is the Lefty way. See Toronto this week.
The average Lefty would no more step up to defend his spewage with cold steel than fly to the moon. I mean, can you picture the good Mr. Nelson showing up for sabers at dawn with Sarah Palin’s husband? Or even with Sarah herself? Not a snowball’s chance, man.
They shriek and fling dung from the trees. This is their way.
what kind of person would mock someone with a mental disability
I would never mock you, Kinyobe. Honest. Like what Lefties do when they whinge on and on and ON about how heartless and racist/sexist/homophobe right wingers are
Let’s have some examples of this whinging…oh, that’s right…these are phantom demons of your stunted imagination.
Philboy, I was right about you (RE: July 5, 2009 3:51 PM ) and I’ll bet I can get everyone here to agree with me.
Where is your courage then? Oh right! You have none. Or intelligence.
Go on. Say something stupid now.
The fact that the far left’s policies more and more mirror Nazi policies is truly disturbing (No, I’m not trying to play the Nazi card to silence debate). The fact that any life can not be consider sacred is truly unfortunate. Anyone with a handicap deserves the right to life just as much as anyone else.
When society decides to rid itself of the so called “useless eaters”, it will be a dark day indeed.
I am always amazed at how scared of this women the leftie liberals are. Every time they write and publish this stuff. They only turn more people away from them, not to their side of the discussion. I can only surmise that the ones on the left do not like a pretty woman that has ethical standards higher than their own. It probably makes them feel inferior. And that is one thing the left hates more than anything else. Felling bad about themselves. It is how they live their life. By feelings, not intelligence.
Palin is facing federal embezzlement charges. She won’t be running for anything but her public life for a long while.

Be very careful, “Rutledge”. That is defamatory.
And be advised that any defamation against Governor Palin and/or her family is now likely to be answered in a court of law. The Palins will not tolerate this anymore.
Now, read this advisory from Governor Palin’s legal team: http://tinyurl.com/n75ro8
Be advised that a blogger is already actually facing possible legal action for spreading the same Big Lie that you just did.
Stop the lies!
FIGHT THE SMEARS!
General Brock, I fear some have made it “chic” to speak of disabled people in such a fashion. However, the “dark days” you spoke of are here.
Richnj, bingo.
The Phantom said: “They shriek and fling dung from the trees. This is their way.”
phillboy immediately rushes in to prove the point.
Why does the left go all demonic when anyone says, in any way, shape or form, something not-too-complimentary about homosexuals or Muslims, but it’s ok for them, as far as they’re concerned, to say nasty, hateful things about persons with disabilities?
The left obviously believes that it’s ok for Obama to make fun of Special Olympians and of family members of non-leftists who happen to have, say, Down Syndrome.
Why is this? It’s not hateful and hurtful as long as leftists are spewing it???
Boolsheet. We know and the left knows that they’re hateful and hurtful. And they’re smugly proud of their hatefulness and hurtfulness. We should punish them by pointing out to voters that politicians belonging to leftist parties belong to groups that are hateful and hurtful… so long as the left as a whole continues to be hateful and hurtful as they’re being.
General Brock, it may dismay you to learn that ridding the hospital system of useless eaters, aka: the elderly and infirm, is well underway right here in Ontario.
After 30 years of study and countless millions in “research” grants, the health ministry bureaucracy has figured out that people mostly get sick when they are old. So to reduce “demand” on the health system they are trying to figure out ways of letting old people die instead of treating them in the hospital.
Downs syndrome babies, preemies and serious neuro injuries can’t be far behind. Giving special meaning to Mr. Nelson’s “comedy” for us Ontario tax payers.
Brought to you by our good friends Dalton McGuinty and the Liberal Party, yours in loving social progressiveness. Because two tier health care would be eeeeevile.
Them’s your guys, pillboy. That’s your crowd. Have fun, don’t get sick eh?
A fine example of one of those unimpaired limbic brains!
So no discussion of Sarah Palin quitting? Can’t have a two minute hate about that. Let’s bitch about some random blog post we dragged up instead shall we?
Goodbye Sarah. Late Night Comedians will have to work harder to come up with material from this point onwards.
And be advised that any defamation against Governor Palin and/or her family is now likely to be answered in a court of law.
Yeah, Senty, it’s called a SLAPP suit.
You must not have scrolled very far, Jose.
As usual.

The voice was good though that Women can be elected as President too or vice president that message stay as her legacy and that is end of it Good bye Palin I recommended to take care her children before get higher job and do not bring them to politic are not ready too and not needed to public talk about them
===

Now, read this advisory from Governor Palin’s legal team:
http://tinyurl.com/n75ro8
As usual.
so much writing about shit?
shame …..go enjoy 34C
