Actually, I have emailed Salim on a closely related question and we've had an intelligent correspondence.

As a Muslim, he understands there are certain elements within his religion that drag its name down.

Fact is, there are more Muslims killed by Muslims. That can be easily verifyable by a factual investigation.

thereligionofpeace.com has a running tally of daily attacks. A quick check will demonstrate that there have been 13,011 attacks since 9/11. If anybody would care to scroll down and investigate the nature of the incidents, it's quite clear that Muslim vs Muslim attacks are the most deadly.

The enemy is radical Islam, for both the West and Muslims like Salim Mansur.

I'm sure Mansur would not advocate nuking as an answer, since he has gone to great pains in our email correspondence to explain his viewpoint on problem and its possible solutions.

I'm sure he would also be more than willing to explain his position at the conference also.

Simple, it's been substituted with self-preservation. Many MP's and political appointees will try to keep "their jobs" at any price, and citizens whose income depends public money will abandon all principles to ensure “their guy” is elected, and their jobs are secure. Very few Liberals, Dippers, or their supporters have any prospects outside of public office, or outside of their subsidized industry. THAT MEANS THEY CANNOT EARN THAT MUCH $$MONEY$$ ON THEIR OWN, THEY NEED YOUR MONEY TO SUSTAIN THEIR LIFESTYLE. What makes the Conservatives different is the grass-roots origins of the party. Most of the Conservative MP’s were employed in the private sector before politics, and they usually take a PAY CUT to do public service. Most people that vote Conservative work in the private sector. The left recruits straight out of University creating professional politicians, professional activists and unionized public sector employees. Except for the health care workers, people in this crowd could not survive without public money; so making sure “their guy” wins, takes precedence over “Liberty, free open discussion and thoughtful reflection”.

Don't expect any balanced reporting if at all of the event from the local media A Channel and LFP.
See they have a problem of association.
There is one individual in their employ Jane Roy, who is the spouse of LNC MP Glen Pearson.
These two have made their lifes work the local food bank and advocating to help the less fortunate in Darfur..but I digress.
Due mostly that for soem reason this issue of what use the HRC actually serves, or specifically how it doesn't, has been percieved as a conservative rather than an issue of freedom and liberty by the MSM, they will be loathe to respect any tentent of balance or respectful reporting if at all.
THe best hope is that one of the national media sources broadcast it, which will shame them into running the same without twisting the story too much.
