In reading this story about Obama's brother being denied entry into the UK for sexually abusing 13 year girls it mentions that Obama has 11 half brothers and sisters from his Harvard trained father who abandoned 3 women and is on is 4th wife. Recently I read another story about another one of Obama's brothers who was busted for drugs somewhere in Africa. Of course all of these stories are in British papers. Sarah Palin's daughter's ex-boyfriend's mother's prescription drug abuse is a front page story over here yet Obama's father and 11 siblings problems get nary a mention. Very odd.

(In one UK paper it says that the reason Obama dissed PM Brown when he visited Washington is because Obama's brother was denied entry into the UK for his alleged sexual assault.)

The neo-Fascists are at it again.

NY City's health commissioner is now targeting Coke and Pepsi. One of his arguments is that sugary soft drinks cause obesity, diabetes, etc. which are partially funded by Medicare. Therefore, since it impacts the public purse, the public has a right to restrict individuals' consumption of such drinks. This is precisely the same argument used by Bambam when he replaced Wagoner at GM - if public money gets involved, then the politicians can exercise power. Lord save us from the people who are trying to help us.

Fritz, didn't Obama Sr. (the Harvard PhD in economics) die in a car crash in 1982. And if so, how could he be on his 4th wife? A philandering drunk I gather.

[Al Gore is about to feature in a new movie, but he’s not going to like it very much. Titled Not Evil Just Wrong: The True Cost of Global Warming Hysteria, the film presents a devastating account of the shaky foundations and hefty price of Mr. Gore’s brand of self-interested and hypocritical alarmism.

Despite being chock-a-block with inaccuracies and misrepresentations, Mr. Gore’s movie has frightened schoolchildren all over the world, driven the public policy debate, and garnered both an Academy Award and a Nobel Peace Prize for its star.] Peter Foster

Revnant Dream; just compare this story with your hero. This dirt bag has all of the relevant firearms charges dropped and gets 9 months. He couldn't be in possession of the gun; it was just in his car.
And of course we paid for his lawyer.
Please do a follow up on our Alberta hero and see the consequences. Even if a Judge of Jury acquits, the legal costs will be crippling.
Would someone please explain why he doesn't have the Right to make an arrest. What happened to the Criminal Code provisions that upheld that Right?

In this particular case, I'm not even going to fault Obama & co. Rather, I think this is the international media pushing forth its very strange agenda of moral equivalency.

me no dhimmi - Didn't Barack Obama's father only have an MA in Economics? Not a PHD.

And was he legally married to Ann Dunham, Obama's mother? After all, he was still legally married to his first wife at the time. They 'married' in February 1961; Obama was born in August, which means she was pregnant when/why they 'married'.
She then 'divorced' him January 1964 - i.e., less than 3 years later.

Indeed, Barack has half-brothers who were born after him from that same 'first wife', even though Obama tries to suggest that they are not his father's sons. But there is no mention that Barack sr. ever divorced his first wife.

ET. Me No Dhimmii - thats the whole point - here this guy is president and we know nothing with certainty about his family and there seems to be zero curiosity from the media - unlike for right wing politicians. My hunch is that the media started looking at his family with the intent of building him up and did not like what they saw so they just ignore it.

The 'reality of Obama' is a fictional rather than factual reality. Everything about Obama is a textual fiction, authored by himself for most of his life, and now, assisted in large part by the MSM.

As a child, abandoned by his father, raised intermittently by a white mother and more, by her mother, it is understandable that Obama would create his own personally written and controlled narrative about his family. At some time, he must have switched his primary existence from the real to the fictional world. This fact - that he lives in a self-authored fictional rather than factual world - doesn't excuse his current narcissism, which is an attempt to live within a fictional world of which he is the sole author.

But, it is interesting to see how this fiction is played out in the Capt. Phillips rescue. Twice, Obama refused to allow a rescue operation, i.e., with force, to be used in rescuing Phillips. His fiction about himself and the US is 'no force'.He had no idea how to resolve the stand-off and was publicly silent on the whole situation.

Finally, the captain of the USS Bainbridge took matters into his own hands, prepared his snipers, and used the 'excuse' that the pirates were 'pointing a gun at Phillips', to act.

As fast as those bullets went, the Obama administration then leapt to assert that the whole operation, rescue and MSM text - were due to Obama the Leader. [See Jeff Emanual, Pajamas Media].

It is fascinating to watch as the White House slips more and more into a fictional rather than factual world. Just last week, we had the factual bow being transformed into the fictional 'leaning over to grab both hands of a shorter man'. Now, we have the factual refusing-to-confront act transformed into the fictional confrontational heroism.

Drawing on her experiences under a communist regime, she told WND she is determined to do her part to stop America from following in the all-too-familiar footsteps of her former homeland.

Life under communism

She described her life in a communist nation: Markets were bare, people had no desire to work and the government forced young children into slave labor.

"We'd stop at the store, and the food stores were empty," she said. "I remember we had to stand in lines for hours in the cold. We were in a bus, going home and suddenly we'd see a line. We wouldn't even know what they were selling, but we knew something would be there – some food. We'd stand for two hours to buy maybe a pound of salami or a half a pound of butter."

As a young child, Taitz asked her father why the market shelves were empty."

Canwest shares worthless, to be avoided -analysts
13 Apr 2009 13:58 ET

By Wojtek Dabrowski

TORONTO, April 13 (Reuters) - Shares of Canwest Global Communications are essentially worthless and should be avoided by investors as Canada's biggest media company fights to restructure its massive debt amid a severe advertising downturn, analysts said on Monday.

Canwest has another debt deadline looming on Tuesday, by which time it must pay $30.4 million in interest to holders of its 8 percent senior subordinated notes. The payment was originally due March 15, but the company missed it.

If it doesn't pay on Tuesday, the investors can demand the repayment of about $761 million of outstanding principal on the notes. This could further exacerbate the crisis facing the company.

"Given the significant liquidity challenges facing the company, we see no residual value in the shares of Canwest," BMO Capital Markets analyst Tim Casey wrote in a note to clients.

While critical, the looming interest payment is only the tip of the iceberg for Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Canwest, which has a debtload of about C$3.7 billion ($3.03 billion), some of it dating back to its 2000 acquisition of newspaper assets from Hollinger International.

The company is in talks with both the noteholders and its banks to restructure its debtload and recapitalize its balance sheet. Meanwhile, lenders have clamped down on the amount of credit they are willing to advance to the company.

"Based on these major liquidity challenges, it seems unlikely to us that Canwest can continue in its current form," Casey wrote, adding that timely and successful asset sales also seem unlikely.

The recession continues to severely depress the advertising market, which is the lifeblood of Canwest's stable of newspapers and television stations. It has also dampened the appetites of potential buyers of Canwest's assets.

Canwest owns a chain of Canadian daily newspapers, including the flagship National Post, as well as Canada's Global TV network. It also has television operations in Australia, through its stake in Network Ten.

Last week, Canwest posted a net loss of C$1.44 billion for the three months ended Feb. 28. This included a C$1.19 billion writedown related mostly to its publishing operations.

"We see no compelling reason to own, let alone buy Canwest shares, which we would continue to avoid," National Bank Financial analyst Adam Shine wrote in a note.

Analysts have previously said that Canwest could file for bankruptcy protection, but the company thus far has continued to negotiate with its creditors rather than involve the courts.

"We continue to believe there is significant risk Canwest is forced into bankruptcy protection or to sell assets at unfavorable prices or a massive debt restructuring," GMP Securities analyst Jason Jacobson wrote to clients.

More than 100 people are in custody after police smashed a major plot to sabotage one of Britain’s biggest power-stations.

Officers swooped on environmental protesters as they prepared a mass raid that could have disrupted supplies to tens of thousands of homes.

The demonstrators are thought to have gathered at night in readiness to move on Ratcliffe-on-Soar power-station, Nottinghamshire.

They were rounded up shortly after midnight on Sunday at the Bakersfield Community Centre in Sneinton, Notts, by scores of officers.

Detectives later revealed they recovered specialist equipment that suggested the group represented a “serious threat” to the station’s safety."

*All hail to Daniel's band:

"Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone! Dare to have a purpose firm! Dare to make it known. Many mighty men are lost ..." (traditional)

I'd like to say a word about the piracy incident.

The American story is that some brave and tough merchant marines repelled people coming over the side armed with AK-47s using only high-pressure hoses.

Then the captain, with nobility and bravery that could only be thought of as legendary, sacrificed himself in order to save his crew.

That is the story. Period.

Naturally, the SEALs carried out their highly skilled and professional job with grace and effectiveness. However, that is their job; it is what they are trained to do, and they do it almost better than everyone.

The crew and the captain are civilians who have no responsibility to carry out as bravely as they did. The crew and the captain are the stuff of John Wayne.

Not 5 minutes after the incident was over, the chattering classes on both sides filled the airwaves and networks with discussions about Obama's responsibility relative to the matter.

This is not a story about Obama. This is an American story similar perhaps to the civilians who banded together and attacked those terrorists on the airliner during 9/11.

Obama's role in this is so marginal as to be almost non-existent. This captain and the crew are the kind of people you work next to every day in the US and Canada. And when duty calls, they answer.

I'm afraid that the concentration on Obama and secondarily the SEAL team are obscuring the real American story here, which is all about the captain and crew.

greg - the MSM is deliberately writing up the Phillip's rescue as one directly due to The Great One, Obama.

CNN and MSNBC and others are falling all over themselves declaring that this rescue shows Obama's 'firm hand', his 'wisdom', his 'courage' and his whatever else these sycophants can say. The Navy, the Seals, the men, and Phillips, are just hapless bystanders, are puppets of the Great One, in this whole scenario. The True Hero, according to the MSM, is Obama. He is the one who was in charge.

Yet, if you consider some other sources, eg, Ace of Spades, Obama had nothing to do with macro or micromanaging this situation. As Ace points out, it was the Navy and the Seals who carried out their job. It was the Navy who hooked up the lifeboat to a towline; who called in the Seals and got them on board. It was the Navy captian who set up the Seals as snipers, and who gave the order to shoot. Despite Obama's hesitation in authorizing them to use force.

Ace is saying that Obama hesitated authorizing force and that the Navy had to ask -twice. CNN and MSNBC are instead, saying that Obama twice authorized the use of force - first for the Navy and then for the Seals. Strange - why would the CIC have to authorize it twice? Does he do it for each unit? I doubt that.

And, the fact that Obama said nothing, absolutely nothing, until after the rescue? Well, the MSM is praising him for his silence. I'm not sure why, but such praise might be to deflect accusations that he was silent, to cover himself in case any rescue failed. He didn't want to be blamed for a failed rescue, so he was silent.

But, the instant readiness of the White House to take praise for this rescue is quite something. Of course, it's handy, because it deflects all the attention of last week on Obama's infamous bow to the Saudi King.

However, to hear CNN and MSNBC talk, the rescue is directly attributed to Obama's steely and capable hands and control. They even told us that he was 'briefed' 17 times. Ahhh, that does indeed tell us that he was in charge; he was briefed about it.

It was the Navy, the Seals, the commander of the Navy ship - and Phillips and the crew. Obama? He had nothing to do with it and he's milking it, politically, for his own gain.
