Just six short decades separate "The Greatest Generation" from the "The President Is Reinvesting In My Dental Insurance Generation".

So which do you think is next?

"Money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will go towards developing and building alternative energy solutions, and in my view this is the single biggest factor in this whole equation. A new alternative energy economy will not only create jobs and improve our economy, but it will do wonders for our nation’s security while reducing greenhouse gases.
Thank you President Obama, for having the confidence in America to do what you are doing.

I really look forward to an increased allotment of pixie dust every month and the extra unicorn is such a blessing.
Race-baitng, Bourrie? Nicely done. Bringing it down to Garofalo-like levels.
You've become quite a lot braver since you've stopped posting your URL, haven't you?
"Poor-Away"
Love it.
Speaking of Peggy, have there been any updates on her gas/mortgage situation? My heart breaks for her - imagine having to pay for your own gasoline and mortgage. Oh, the humanity.
If there is a vote, I would appreciate a "Present" option.
That Obongo, he do take care o' da bruthas.
The delusion factor is growing. What a let down in a couple of years. There is nothing more entertaining that watching a leftie forced to deal with the reality that his beliefs were only ... well ... beliefs. The reality is that in the end, we are on our own. Unless a paltry mind destroying welfare check is your hearts desire.
He's got the ideas, we've got the money.
He's got the promises and won't be around when the whole thing collapses.
The rot from within is what has brought down any great society. We are watching how it's done.
You laugh at the prophet but the promise shall be fulfilled er halfilled; are these words in that tome. Pick your book. Walk on water, even heavy water as long as it is not Parthian; he shall sink.
America is screwed ... generation.
I'm awaiting the arrival of Summer with great anticipation of those "Green Jobs" that are going to put all of America's unemployed back to WORK!
Next these users will be demanding someone whipe their bum for them.
Its official, Aliens do exist & they have taken over the Earth.
Wait until they see this one coming right at them:

What a bunch of pathetic, social welfare losers, eh! Oh, sorry if I offended you...
Ha, oh dear eh BB?
We give it to you in this hand now and then we take it back a little later from this hand, k?
Or in other words, business as usual for the duplicity administration.
Wonder how much it will actually cost to accomplish this?
The "stimulus package" is, if you believe this sob-story propaganda, is just going into the hands of folks who are losers; the pay-off for their votes.
A one-time extravaganza for sure. Of course, spending money like water is not sustainable; how does that sit with the EPA?

Almost correct, there, Felis:
The pixey dust is sustainable. What troubles me is the supply of Unicrons. I want one each Christmas for dinner. Are there enough Unicorns to be hunted? Or would it be a good idea to capture a few and start a unicorn farm? Perhaps I could feed them also on pixey dust.

"If there is a vote, I would appreciate a "Present" option."
That's a very good point.
I make a motion that all future polls include the 'present' option.
All in favour?
Yes?
No?
Present?
We have the same mentality here in Canada. I've heard it so often - "Health Care is FREE in Canada'.
This is said by professionals, by people with advanced education degrees - not just by the front desk clerk in the store.
They simply don't get it: nothing is 'free' and whether you choose a service and pay for it out of your wages, or do not choose a service and pay, even more, for it, out of your wages - well, you still pay.
Obama is destroying the middle class of America. His definition of anyone who works hard and accumlates 'wealth' - and wealth is any income over 250,000 per year, a strange line-in-the-sand, well..anyone who fits this description is 'greedy'.
That's right. To Obama, if you work hard and accumulate wealth, this wealth is NOT due to you and your work but to your psychological aberration. You are sinful; you are greedy. You must be forced to give up this result-of-greed, and hand it over to people who don't work that hard.
And you think that Obama has relinquished 20 years of listening to this kind of talk from Rev. Wright? Obama is an acolyte of Wright. In fact, if you listen to Obama and his denigration of America, his equation of dictatorships with democracies - you'll hear Rev. Wright talking.
Punish success and reward sloth, that's the recipe for success.
Not.
Every time I read about Obama I picture Billy Carter in the background shot urinating on the White House lawn.
"I'm awaiting the arrival of Summer with great anticipation of those "Green Jobs" that are going to put all of America's unemployed back to WORK!"
Seems those "green jobs" aren't working out to well in Europe..."The latest job cuts will be a huge blow to the UK market, which had earmarked low carbon technology manufacturing as a way out of the current recession."
Bought off with their own money.
I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and on the cab ride to the airport to come back to Canada our cab driver was complaining about the lack of employment prospects in town. He was looking forward to the plentiful jobs that the Obama green program was going to create. When my colleagues and I expressed skepticism that the government could create wealth and jobs (even the great Obama), he was utterly shocked. He had never heard anyone express a shred of skepticism about Obama or his programs. It wasn't that he slammed on the brakes and threw us out of the cab for uttering such blasphemy. It was that he had literally never given a moment's thought that Obama might not be right, and that his programs might not be effective. Neither had anyone he had ever talked to. And ET is certainly right, this new culture of dependence and entitlement is not unique to the U.S. It's been in Canada for a while. But what is alarming is that the U.S. was the last hold out. The last country that you could count on. The last country where you could count on most plumbers and gas jockeys to appreciate the American dream - the opportunity to work hard and get rich. That was what made America rich, and what made Americans happy, confident, and free. In a generation of the new American socialism, this last bastion of freedom and liberty will be gone forever, and the U.S. will be just another mediocre country. The U.S. and the rest of the world will suffer for this.
Hannibal Lectern: " ... Billy Carter ..."
Billy had to take a piss ... heck, what guy wouldn't want to water a shrub there?
"We have the same mentality here in Canada. I've heard it so often - "Health Care is FREE in Canada'."
My late father was the hardest-working man I have ever known in addition to being the consumate anti-socialist. He didn't belong to the Farmers' Union, refused to deliver his grain to the Sask Wheat Pool and viewed the CCF-NDP as a blight on the landscape.
I had the pleasure of witnessing many a rye-fuelled debate between him and the local socialists who were, back in the day, quite plentiful in Saskatchewan. When the socialists ultimately got around to stating that something was free because "the government pays for it", the debate was over and my father would just smile and walk away.

In terms of debt as a percentage of GDP, the USA is now 15th.
In fours years of Obamanomics, if all goes as he plans, they will be 6th. If it goes as many predict, they will be 4th.
13 of the top 15 most indebted nations are European.
Two choices are missing:
"everything I have I stole from my kids generation," and
"All of the above"
what a f--kin joke. hahahahahahaha.
fred, they are going to take control of the nations production. they will be number one in four years. it will not be a good number one.
