When are the majority of people going to wake up and see what is being done to their country in only a short time? It must be really nice to float through life ignorant to the blatantly obvious destruction of society around you.

The part that really sucks is those that see what happening and see how it'll all play out, and not being able to do anything about it. Say anything and you're a racsist bigot, or a paranoid conspiracy theorist, the list goes on. When are the freedom loving, hard working, family loving, honest folk going to say we've had enough?

'Negro' was and still is a perfectly respectable word. If you feel disrespected, that's your problem, not the users problem. But I'm sure in your case it is mere facile white guilt. Get over it.

Jimmy Carter had done something before he became president; 2 terms as governor of Georgia, ran a large peanut farm, church elder, graduate of US Naval Academy in Nuclear Engineering. Obama is a perfect example of the unfortunate confluence of affirmative action and the Peter principle. If he is typical of “successful blacks”, it’s no wonder there is so much bleating about racism in the states. When I read Kozinski's "Being There" back in the 70s, I thought the concept was hilarious; today, not so much.

Once upon a time, only 30 years ago or so, there were only 3 races: Caucasoid, Mongoloid and Negroid. "Negro" was the short form of Negroid and the derivitive of the Spanish/Portugese word for "black". Go into your old dusty World Book Encyclopedia and you will find many pages under this bad word, Negro. Negro is still in the Merriam Webster dictionary, oh the horror!

Tell me Doug, if Negro is such a bad word and the use of such a bad word will condemn one to perpetual damnation, when was the last time you wrote a letter to the United Negro College Fund or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and informed them of the errors of their ways?

From Negro came the word "black" and most people were cool with that. Then we had to endure the term "people of colour" (give me a break) and we all fell into line, albeit somewhat grudgingly (c'mon gang, pick a name and go with it)

Now, "of colour" is so yesterday and the official term is now "African American". Wow.

Let's see now, if a white supremist of Dutch decent, born in Capetown, South Africa immigrated to New York City and received citizenship would he be an African American just like Oprah and Chris Rock?

How is using the word Negro somehow racist?

The word "racist" doesn't mean the same as it did when the word "negro" was still in style and not on the HRC's list of "don't go there's". Racist is now defind as anyone winning an arguement against a left winger or an general purpose insult thrown in hopes of silencing anyone who beleives political correctness is dangerous and arguably equally harmful as REAL racism.

Funny how nowadays the simple action of one voting for his or her candidate can be construed as racist. (Translation: If you vote for the white dude over the black dude for no other reason than you wanted to, you're a racist). Funny that many people are using the word 'black' again. Could it be that Obama isn't really an "African-American" as far as the classic definition goes? He was the decendent of slave traders rather than the actual slaves. He just share the skin pigment.

My point: Obama is not the descendant of slaves. His Father was Kenyan, (from Africa) NOT a black American. His mother (horror of horrors) was a white woman. I find it interesting that has chosen to embrace only the Negro side of his family. That must be quite a conflict for him.

I am aware that the word Negro bugs some leftist dolts and there are many other semi-banned words that bug them as well. I use them as a normal part of vocabulary, not in a racist way, but rather to demonstrate that I will not bow to the insanity of the political correctness that is destroying our culture.

I liked your point about the millions of Africans who are not Negro and would not likely appreciate being called Afro-whatevers.

The idea of calling Negros black people is problematic as well. Consider how many East Indians are black, but are classed as Caucasian. There are also many light skinned Negros who may not want to be called black. Technically Obama is Mulatto.

I am a brown skinned Mediterranean, what would you like to call me? It all gets so confusing. It's all part of the fog that leftists live in and spend all there time trying to sort out the unsortable.
