Yup, I don't see what all the big fuss is. Airliners don't demolish skyscrapers, skyscrapers are made of steel, and are impervious to fire and any other stresses a collision of that type may cause. Forget terrorists, termites are the real threat.

Thanks for posting that RFC. I already knew of this story, and yet watching that cell phone video actually made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

Somebody in the big Zero's administration should lose their job over this. This isn't simply an honest mistake. This stunt was sheer lunacy in its very conception. The fact that Zero apparently doesn't have anybody competent enough in his organization to have shut this idea down before it got off the drawing board speaks volumes about the overall level of competence Zero has himself surrounded with.

This is the sort of thing that puts me in stitches. Knowing the story of the photo, I must have a copy. AF1 backup plane, Liberty Island, NY harbor, people pouring from buildings in terror -- priceless.

Now there are some things that you should never forget and there are things you should grow up and get a life for.

A low flying plane, painted blue like an Air Force One 747 should not be a cause for alarm. His holiness might just be on a show and tell trip with his kids to oversee his vast realm.

New York has three major international airports with planes coming and going 24/7. It was not flying down Broadway or anything stupid. Hell, you can see the Statue of Liberty taking off from Newark airport. you can also fly up the Hudson and close to the statue in a light plane under VFR.

FAA and authorities were duly notified but obviously you cannot broadcast the times and flight path of Air Force One. Talk about giving the crazies a chance at a "photo op".

Look, up in the sky, is it a bird? Is it a Plane? No, it's the great "0".

Photo op for his 100 days in power to be sent out to all his friends as a post card or a background for his primetime newsconference Wed.

Not to let the facts get in the way of the vitriol, but:

1) It was AF Two, not AF One. Bambam wasn't aboard.

2) Bambam did not approve the flight in the first place. Louis Caldera, head of the "White House Military Office" (wat dat?!) and former Sec'y of the Army under Clinton, took responsibility and apologized.

3) NYC and New Jersey Police forces were notified in advance, but were told specifically not to notify the public. Similarly, NYC 911 and 311 operations were told ahead of time, but were also gagged.

4) NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg was furious; according to some reports, so is Bambam.
