Anyone recall the opening chapter of Michener's "Hawaii"? Over the course of thousands of years, underwater volcanic activity formed an island and water eroded it away. IIRC, the above islands are volcanic in origin and will also erode away. Global warming, er, climate change, has nothing to do with it.

I have terrific news that should help you take your mind off the fact that you are broke and jobless.

The driving force for 'Global Warming' paranoia....if you follow the money, is the growing realization among the moneyed classes that economic growth, more and more, will impinge on their quality of life. The answer for them is not curtailing economic growth, which would be disastrous for their portfolios, but somehow, if the little people would just take up less of the planet - drive smaller cars, be happy with tiny apartments, not travel and the like.

Also at work here is that in our system, the incentive for work has been "bigger and better". Keeping up with the Joneses, certainly in the US, works at keeping all those noses to the grind stone. I agree this is reaching ludicrous proportions and there needs to be a change, but it should not involve stifling our future.

Hopefully, and I don't like to say that, but hopefully a good depression will make the morons who have and continue to fund these charlatans like Algore and Suzuki Hansen, {so they can continue to own beachfront properties}, take a look at how stupid they are. Fools who fall for UN predictions or any other predictions from the stealers of others money like Suzuki are just that fools. These sob's should be charged with fraud, Suzuki had the gall to take over 700 dollars from Calgary school kids to {save the planet} what an ass.

The important question is how much money did the UN spend on dinner parties and conferences to prevent this pending tragedy.
