I'm getting totally fed up with global cooling; enough so that I'm starting to seriously think about moving to a warmer climate.
Earth's albedo has been increasing as the sun has fewer sunspots and, if Landscheid is right, we're into this pattern until 2030 or so. One way of warming the earth is to burn more coal and to not scrub soot from the power plants exhaust. Black snow is a lot warmer than white snow. OTOH, BO could instruct the US congress to pass legislation to ban cosmic rays from hitting the earth and we'd be back to normal global warming.
Hmm. Well, I didn't read the entire article, but I believe I got the gist of it. Roughly, I'm thinking at this point: So this means that we haven't yet reached the "solar minimum" which was thought to have been reached, and which is believed to cause lowered global temperatures.
Ok, then. So then what's causing the lowered global temperatures? Anyone? Who knows?
Now... it's clear and indubitable that we do NOT have "global warming". It's also clear that something unknown is responsible for the lower temperatures we've been witnessing recently.
I'd like to see Al Gore try to address that without getting all hissy-pissy and such.
"The science is settled", eh? Yeah, suuuuure. Gotcha, Al!
Once again this year there is little press coverage of the Heartland Institute conference. This surprises me. I would have thought that by now the MSM would begin hedging their bets. As it stands they are risking being thoroughly discredited in the not-too-distant future.
Spring starts in a few days and I have to shovel 6 inches of global warming this morning that fell last night. Can we go back to the 70's with the global cooling?
GaryinWpg, Using reverse psychology doesn't work on Ma Nature. You are liable to be driving your snow machine all the way up Pembina Highway to downtown next year. I seem to recall back in the '80s when they did allow snowmachines on the road during a blizzard. There were as many skidoos parked in front of the hotel beverage room as there were at the grocery store.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media

have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Loki,
I'll do better than BO.
I'll buy a snowmobile for the 2009-2010 season, I'll guarantee you there will be little or no snow, because that's my type of luck.
In fact for additional insurance I'll buy a snowblower to boot!

"'Frozen in fear over climate change'"
"SCIENTISTS say they are haunted by the failure to convey to the world just how close Earth is to climate catastrophe."

This entry's a lot less esoteric:
"Edmonton Canada bests all time record low by -12 degrees, columnist questions climate situation"
to lefties, opinions are fact
to a true scientist, questions are to norm
let's do as Coleman suggested, put Fat Al on the stand under oath!!!
put Fat Al on the stand under oath!!!
To lefties "under oath" is relative.

This had better be the LAST TIME I have to use my long snowblower. Or else!
(I'll buy a real snowblower).
Can you say late spring?
My wife notes the geese and the starlings were already back here on Mar 10 last yr.
I figure they must still be held up by the Arizona Militia this year. heh.
That was supposed to be 'long handled snowblower'.
Damn I'm just so excited today. It must be winter.
