Anyone who has been involved in a "live fire excercise" or an actual firefight knows that the only incoming round that one does not hear is a grenade(excluding the umphhhh from the throwing party).

Actually, the Lancet article (as written) might be quite accurate. It's quite possible that "people in Gaza described a silent bomb..."

The Lancet may have accurately reported what they were told, but then simply failed to apply a basic smell test before publishing. (That old agenda thing....) In any event, they deserve to get smacked around for it.

In the "related" post; "Nondisclosure Cited in Iraq Casualties Study" is parallel to many if not all of the lefty studies done on gun control in the 90's. The Coalition for Gun Control was one who would not reveal methodology or data. Numerous other supposed "studies" were examined and found to be wanting but appeared in Canadian and other medical journals. Of course, by the time legitimate scientists examined the erroneous "science", the damage was done.
Of course in "Global Warming" the studies are as pure as the Arctic winter snow. Say; when is it going to stop snowing?

I'm glad the Lancet study on 'deaths in Iraq due to the Bush-War' is finally being exposed for the travesty that it was. It was pure rubbish, not a shred of evidence - and yet, it was touted as the 'definitive answer'. Anyone who dared to criticize it - was slammed by the left.

Now, the left is silent. But when criticism of the report was required - they were only too ready to fight for that report and tear apart anyone who pointed out its flaws.

This ideology-driven 'report' isn't new. A decade ago in Canada, we had a government funded report attesting that over 80% of women were subject to rape on our university campuses. The Women's groups loved the report; the government set up committees to 'alleviate' the misery.

However, trying to find out the methodology and the data base was, as in the Lancet report in Iraq, very difficult. I was, on the sly, sent a copy of the questionnaire. And there it was; the quesions were pure bogus. Male Respondents were asked to speculate 'how many' of your male friends have ever insulted a female friend. Answer about what your friends have done??

Oh - and they changed the definition of date rape. Nothing physical about it - instead, date rape became redefined as 'did your boyfriend ever put you down or insult you in front of friends or family'? 'Did you ever feel upset by something your boyfriend said about you'?

The male questionnaires were filled with speculations about what their friends did - and no questions about what the girls did.
The female questionnaires were filled with these subjective emotional questions about hurt feelings. Nothing about what they did to the men.

The data - which was not released - showed that, even with these questions, less than .001 interactions were physical. The dominant answer was 'hurt feelings' of 'feeling insulted in front of friends or family'. And that - was the basis for the conclusion that over 80% of young women were subject to rape on Canadian campuses.

The Lancet study is similar in its corrupt methodology, rewriting of definitions, lack of actual evidence.

Can the silent bomb be used on the Lancet? Please? Pretty Please? Pretty Please With Sugar On It! If not the Lancet then how about all the academics who use their position in inappropriate ways to advance their pet causes.

As should be extremely well known by now, The Lancet, the British Medical Journal (BMJ) New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) have all been taken over by politically active Leftists.

The easy way to tell if a journal is trustworthy these days is to do a quick search for gun control articles. If the journal has a bunch of them, they're bent.

The Lancet has gone pretty far into the loony Left realm the last 20-30 years. A quick perusal of their articles in any given month will reveal lots and lots of social engineering propaganda.

Not that they print -nothing- of scientific value, just that a lot of what they print is complete crap. If its in the Lancet, chances are its bullsh1t.

But the "silent bomb" thing is great. Just like the "plastic pistol" which can evade x-ray machines.
