Weatherford started this before the elections. They were based in Bermuda but are really a US company. When the talk began about limiting drilling offshore and coal gas drilling they focused on foreign operations. Previous years that served them well but this year it just didn't matter much. Take the money and keep it away from the bad people.

What is an inconvenient truth is the Hollywood latte liberals, such as Henry Waxman, have managed to prevent drilling in the Santa Barbara Channel....proven reserves.....by means of the natural seepage from the seafloor of the channel which constantly release more crude than the EXXON VALDUS........
Waxman.....made chairman of the SENATE ENERGY AND COMMERCE COMMITTEE.....although he is against both.
This opposition to drilling has nothing to do with pollution or the environment but everthing to do with turning the lights out.

Personally I don't think any companies will be moving their headquarters to Canada anytime soon. These companies are looking for long term political stability and this country cannot even produce a majority government. As well as stability they want minimal taxation. Think about it, if you do a majority of your business outside the country why should you pay the same taxes as a local? It's not greed for a hell of a lot of these companies, it's just a screw you attitude, you don't help me with anything out here why should we pay the same tax rate as someone using all the services you supposedly provide. Greed is on the part of governments treating you as chattels of your country and not as citizens.
