How about that Wornout wanker posting BCL's and Kathy's wedding photo?
Must be his repressed anger from being the victim of one too many wedgies while growing up.....uh....getting older.
Kate's 'serial number wedgie' will go down as a blogosphere classic.
But, but Big Albert said carbon dioxide conc would keep on a rising till the earth exploded or something.
So how come it seems to be falling.

Ottawa raises quota for this year's seal hunt
The Canadian Press
March 21, 2009
Halifax -- Ottawa has set a quota of 338,200 seals for this year's East Coast hunt -- an increase of 55,000 animals from last year.
Federal Fisheries Minister Gail Sheasaid the decision on the size of this year's kill was made with "the advice of scientists to ensure the seal population is maintained."
The federal Fisheries Department estimates the size of the harp, grey and hooded seal herds on the East Coast at about 6.4 million animals.
Last year's quota was 283,200 seals but fewer than that were killed. More at:

The 9,000 pet projects inserted in the budget by Congress include:
- Removing tattoos from gang members (California): $200,000...it costs that much to cut off their arms?
- Polynesian Voyaging Society (Hawaii): $238,000...How many canoes can you buy??
- Swine odour and manure management (Iowa): $2m...ummmm...shouldn't that be for DC?
- Preserving Lahontan cut-throat trout (Nevada): $250,000....preserving? I like mine pan fried.
- Stable fly control (Nebraska): $866,000....as compared to an unstable fly?
- Blackbird management (North Dakota): $265,000....what about the white birds?
- Encouraging teenagers to abstain from sex (Pennsylvania): $24,000....maybe if old, sexually frustrated butch/metro guy social workers would stop talking about it?

I am happy to discover that I live in a postal code area that has the most licensed hunters in the GTA.
...and the gun registry has a 97% non-compliance rating so what are the real number of gunowners????
Free and Minuteman; Gary Breitkreuz has been dropped from the speaker position at the TO Gun Show. any comments?
Has anyone been to Denmark recently? I and I'm sure many would like to read a first hand account of happenings there. Seems the Immigration Minister is being guarded at a secret location. I didn't bother using Google because It would be instructive to hear a first hand account.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Paul Krugman is some kind of big Democrat, Obama shill, Nobel winning economist - isn't he !?
[ Or to put it another way, Treasury has decided that what we have is nothing but a confidence problem, which it proposes to cure by creating massive moral hazard.
This plan will produce big gains for banks that didn’t actually need any help; it will, however, do little to reassure the public about banks that are seriously undercapitalized. And I fear that when the plan fails, as it almost surely will, the administration will have shot its bolt: it won’t be able to come back to Congress for a plan that might actually work.
What an awful mess.] Paul Krugman
http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/21/despair-over-financial-policy/
First time I have ever agreed with any thing Krugman.
IMO, the best way to describe what is wrong with Liberalism is their inability to understand the dangers of the Moral Hazard.
Moral Hazard is a rot.
Take the easy way out (Hippies).
Reward failure, punish success (Trudeau welfare state).
Subprime bubble (Barney Frank, BJC, Ried, Pelosi).
Glorifying porn, promiscuity (Hollywood).
Criminals' 2nd, 3rd, .. chance - victims ignored ( Charter).
Financial bailouts (Virtually all Politicians).
Dennis Prager has an interesting expression: "First tell the truth, then share your opinion."
I firmly believe that failure to adhere to this simple premise is the root cause of many of our problems today.
Case in point: This morning I listened for awhile to the CBC's Sunday Edition radio program, featuring Obama's Canadian shill, Michael Enright. A greater embarrassment to the once proud profession of journalism there has never been. He interviewed at length a professor from the University of Syracuse. This fellow had some interesting things to say but so much of it could have been pulled from the chorus sheets of the Radical Left Daily Kos hatesite.
Among other things, he stated that the average American's real income is much less than it was 30 years ago. Is that true? I don't intuitively believe it. But the CBC, being the CBC, there was no alternate viewpoint to challenge anything this fellow said.
So if you're a regular CBC listener/viewer and rarely/never partake in any alternative viewpoints then much of the foundation of your worldview is built upon very skewed opinions, not truth. In times past the betrayal of truth with opinion was called "effective propaganda". It often precluded the occurrence of very bad things.

"Liberals, NDP cautious on Harper call for free vote on gun registry
OTTAWA — The leaders of the federal Liberals and NDP are keeping their powder dry on Prime Minister Stephen Harper's appeal for a free vote on abolishing the federal long gun registry.
Liberal chief Michael Ignatieff said he wants to see the "fine print" before taking a position on a bill that would do away with registration of hunting rifles and shotguns.
Ignatieff says he won't support anything that guts the registry - especially if it has repercussions for other weapons such as handguns.
NDP Leader Jack Layton says the bill, as initially drafted, would loosen controls on too many firearms other than those used by hunters and target shooter's.
But he didn't shut the door entirely on the idea of a free vote on the bill sponsored by Conservative backbench MP Garry Breikreuz.
Layton says the NDP doesn't usually whip its MPs to toe the party line on private member's bills."

Haven't seen a news story about it, but I half heard a radio story that said Harper gave a speech at the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters annual general meeting exhorting members to tell their MP's to get rid of the registry and stating that he is against the registry. Wouldn't it be ironic if we managed to get rid of our registry at the same time as the second amendment is taking a sheet kicking in the US.
J.E. Dyer on the submarine jiggery-pokery in the Canadian Arctic:
UNK SUB POSS2 LOW
There is simply nothing more fun than a mystery sub. Some of the voltage seeps off when the original report is months old, but the spark is still there. When the report comes from non-experts, and involves a submarine sighting in an area where submarines have not been routinely confirmed to be, a healthy skepticism is always in order. But skepticism or no, it’s still just so darn much… fun...

"Thirdly, the way that Denmark handled the cartoon crisis didn't go down well at all in Turkey," he said.
"The cartoon crisis has a larger dimension than just Turkey. At a time when NATO is going to assume added responsibility in Afghanistan and Pakistan, having a secretary general with such an objectionable approach to billions of Muslims is not the right approach to the Muslim world."
The cartoon row erupted in 2006 after a Danish newspaper cartoon depicted the Prophet Mohammad with a bomb in his turban were reprinted across the European media.
Rasmussen refused to apologise for the cartoons, which sparked riots and attacks on Danish embassies in several Muslim states, but which Western governments defended in the name of freedom of expression.

"Obama volunteers hunt budget support in Birmingham, Alabama grassroots campaign
Volunteers fanned out across the Birmingham area and Alabama Saturday to pump up enthusiasm for President Barack Obama's budget proposal in much the same way they did to win over voters during the presidential campaign.
About 30 volunteers in Birmingham canvassed shopping areas and other high-traffic locations to talk about the need for health care reform, an education overhaul and environmentally friendly energy development.
"If we don't change these three things in the next 10 to 15 years, America is over as we know it," Chris DeHaven, told the group of volunteers before they went their separate ways."

Find the name Chris DeHaven here:
"Sen. Barack Obama exhorted an overflow crowd of 11,000-plus emotional supporters Sunday afternoon to change America, delivering a message of hope, unity and change in an event that was part rock concert and part old time church revival.
“There is nothing we cannot do if the American people decide it is time,” Obama told the cheering crowd at UAB’s Bartow Arena. “There is a moment in the life of every generation, if it is to make its mark on history, its spirit has to come through. This is our moment.”
Then in the soaring rhetoric that has marked so many of his speeches over the past month, Obama brought the crowd to its feet….as the crowd filled the arena with shattering applause and shouts of, “Obama, Obama, Obama!”
One of the thousands pushing in around Obama as he worked the rope line after his speech was Chris DeHaven, 62, of Hoover. A lifelong Republican, DeHaven said he has finally found someone to vote for, and not against.
Why? “Because he wants to bring us together. He will bring us together,” DeHaven said. “He speaks from the heart, and he speaks the truth in a way I have not heard since Ronald Reagan and Robert Kennedy 40 years ago.”"

"Kroft to Obama: Are you punch-drunk?
President Barack Obama said he believes the global financial system remains at risk of implosion with the failure of Citigroup or AIG, touching off “an even more destructive recession and potentially depression.”
His remarks came in a “60 Minutes” interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the world’s economy.
“You're sitting here. And you're— you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, ‘I mean, he's sitting there just making jokes about money—’ How do you deal with— I mean: explain. . .” Kroft asks at one point.
“Are you punch-drunk?” Kroft says.
“No, no. There's gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama says, with a laugh."

What would Sigmund say about gallows humor?
"The ego refuses to be distressed by the provocations of reality, to let itself be compelled to suffer. It insists that it cannot be affected by the traumas of the external world; it shows, in fact, that such traumas are no more than occasions for it to gain pleasure".
I never thought I'd see the day that I would agree with anything that Hugo Chavez had to say, but, today just might be that day.
Thugo says that Obama the TOTUS is "ignorant" about latin America and has alot of reading to do to learn about the region.
Well, just add that little bit of reading to the whole lot of other books he has to read in order to become less ignorant about his very own country.
Get in line, Thugo. TOTUS is going to spend at least the next 3 and a half long long long long years learning about the United States of America.
Its going to be painful in more ways than one watching this upstart get his wings.
Re: "Among other things, [Krugman] stated that the average American's real income is much less than it was 30 years ago."
If it is, it's because wasteful government has been expanding over all that time.
