Speaking of Rush...
As the leftie communists continuously attack Rush in the US, they continually expose their stupidity and lack of any morals. Here is a radio commentator who, pays big taxes because of his success and has had problems that have been laid bare for all to see, but has what lefties hate the most, popularity and common sense. The haters of Rush are all the losers who could'nt accomplish anything without inheritance or George Soros, Operah, Geffen, Turner etc. The present system we now enjoy is in danger of collapsing, not from outside forces, from within.
The leftbot crowd just can't seem to grasp that free speech, the greatest gift of democracy, includes those things you don't want to hear, and those people who disagree with you.
I only wish we had a Canadian version of Rush.
Goooo Rush! LOL
Love to see you gumming up their message, as only you can.
They do not know how to deal with you, especially when you use their own words back at them.
Watching the Newshour with Jim Lehrer last night on WNED, I was gratified to hear Mark Shields, leftie political commentator par excellence, say with some disgust that the Obama White House shouldn't in any way be taking on Rush Limbaugh. It was clear that he thought it showed a lack of class, a lack of perspective, on the part of the Obamessiah and his staff.
David Brooks wholeheartedly agreed.
What a maroon Obama and his sorry, vengance-seeking White House staff are. Clintoneque deja-vu all over again.
batb - exactly exactly - could you imagine how inane a personal war between Stephen Harper and Peter Mansbridge would be?
What is the Obama white house thinking?
Totally ridiculous! Juvenile!!
Yes, it's quite disconcerting when a President figures he has to respond to the opinions of a private citizen, even if that citizen has a radio show. It's kind of like some of those dictators, in Countries less free than America.
Obama has stupid advisors, and maybe their leader isn't too bright, either.
btw, the Ted Kennedy poll was enough to make me LOL!
"The Mary Jo Kopechne Memorial Bridge"! Beautiful!
"I only wish we had a Canadian version of Rush."
We do. And he even subs for Limbaugh now and then: Mark Steyn.
OK, OK, yes, he does it all in the States.
The Telegraph's James Delingpole has opined that "Obama's judgment is pretty dreadful," and the more I watch this gong show from the (relative) safety of Canada, the more I'm inclined to agree.
Did the Dems learn nothing from the Clinton White House years?
Garth
And if Tweety Bird Matthews is reporting the news you know that he has cut the numbers in half.
Mid terms?
I'd say Republican majority.
Four more years?
I'd say the Republican candidate can count on EIGHT.
Do not underestimate the polarization evident in western modern culture caused, IMHO, by the successful discovery by advertisers that attacking father figures [like Rush] increases sales by unburdening young easily - swayed consumers from parental inhibitions. This has passed into politics, naturally. Voting for Obama is another way to get back at mom and dad, and assert one's independence - a trait inherent in our species.
If the GOP were smart, instead of promoting successful minorities like Palin and Jindal, they need photogenic, charismatic figureheads [like O] with name recognition among new voters. But of course the best sources of those are already tied up by the Dems.
What this means for this latest maturation of our (OK, US. - Canadians MUST be wiser) democratic process is left to the reader. Personally I would not be thrilled by a young, with it, Republican 'teen' idol, but I think that is what it will take.
Love it when he plays the Bwaany Fwaank dancing mortgage queen tune.
Depending on your location in the Lower Mainland
you can pick up Rush on AM 790 @ 9:00 a.m.
Much preferable to the lefty drone on NW for that time slot.
Here's some more food for thought.
Love him or hate him, Limbaugh is actually creating wealth every second he broadcasts. He's currently heading towards a net worth of over US$600 million.
Even if he employs the finest tax accountants money can buy, millions of that net worth will end up in US Treasury coffers. Millions more will be invested or spent, creating income and employment for Americans.
In simple terms, Limaugh represents a net benefit to the US economy.
Can the current US Administration make the same claim? Show me the money!
Cottus you may be right but I prefer to think after Porkulous, even though it will be trimmed a bit, people will want sanity. Someone has to start laying the groundwork by stating this is not sustainable. The US is turning into the no good in-law sleeping in your spare room. Then have an experienced alternative. I liked Palin but it isn't my country.
Just saw a great comment. Isn't the first part of health care pulling someone from the car?
The Ted Kennedy biography, now a made for tv movie, The Bridges of Chappaquiddick County.
Most of Rush's detractors have never listened to one of his shows.
If they did, they would find, yes, a lot of humour, but a lot of common sense as well.
The Bwaney Fwank dancing mortgage queen song is a hoot!
Also heard that Bill O'Reilly's show is blowing away the competition even more since Obama got in.
No question, mid term elections will see Repubs back with a vengeance.
Although the Kopechne Bridge is hilarious, shurely the more appropriate memorial would be "Ted Kennedy's Sipping Whiskey".
Don't think that the Democrats aren't already planning for the 2010 and 2012 elections. What do you think control of the census is all about, other than 'registering' non-residents and speculative numbers of voters.
Blame for all problems at the moment is clearly being flung at 'Bush'. Democrats everywhere all say the same thing: 'We've inherited this mess' and even state the cause: Bush. They ignore, of course, that they controlled the Senate for the past two years and wouldn't let restrictive legislation go through and that the mortgage for everyone era began with Clinton.
The Democrats will try, now, to divide the Republican party and also, control the vote. Obama himself does nothing but campaign. Policies are written by Pelosi and Reid.

Charles Adler seems to have found his conservative gonads of late, but is it journalistic epiphany or simply shit disturbing?
I suspect Pierre Poilievre would say it was the latter.
This leftist and inept administration is doing great things for Fox News' ratings. They are beating all their cable competition by a mile. Glenn Beck has recently moved to Fox from CNN Headline News, and his ratings are skyrocketing. Rush has a huge number of new listeners who want to see what all the fuss is about.
Ted Kennedy is indeed having the health bill named after him. It's been confirmed.
Oh, and Limbaugh is on air three hours a day, five days a week - great sport to parse every word looking for anything to be used against him. How many politicians could stand the same scrutiny?
As i posted here back in November, the biggest winner was not BO but Rush. It would be ever so cool if Rush chipped-in with Murdoch or Mort Zimmerman and bought the NYT. Having him listed as say "Executive editor" would cause socialist heads to explode all around the world.
And a second round of explosions would occur when the sales increased dramatically as they surely would.
Ratings, audience numbers/graph site ?
How Should Senator Ted Kennedy Be Remembered?
Why do you ask?
Is he dead?
No, not yet.
Wishful thinking!
I love haikus (or at least what I like to think they are).
Yet again, ANOTHER poll goes horribly wrong!
FT...since it Kate's poll, I think she might disagree with you....
Hey Kate 13 lefties here today. One of your quieter days,eh?
The day I heard Rush had signed an 8 year deal for 400 million I knew the Dems were going to win the Presidency.
Rush has now become the defacto opposition voice of America, again. He is the 2nd most important figure in Amerikka now behind Big O. Also upside for the bloggers and internet since the msm are done and won't be scooping us.
The Republicans didn't deserve to win anything after the mistakes and corruption which were made in the past 8 years by them. There are striking similarities between the LPC and RNC.
Anyone have any stock market advice?

I have to say that Lowell Green of CFRA 580 in Ottawa is a great shit disturber. He's getting on in years, but he's only getting better with time. Certainly the CRTC is after him, which only proves he stands for free speech.
Sir Edward (Ted) Kennedy:
"The Kennedy and Catholic Roots of Abortion Rights"
"Father Milhaven later recalled the Hyannisport meeting during a 1984 breakfast briefing of Catholics for a Free Choice: "The theologians worked for a day and a half among ourselves at a nearby hotel. In the evening we answered questions from the Kennedys and the Shrivers.
Though the theologians disagreed on many a point, they all concurred on certain basics . . . and that was that a Catholic politician could in good conscience vote in favor of abortion.""

Just think of how hard the Queen had to hold her nose on that knight-hood. Bet there's bruises.
Ted Kennedy being still alive, I can say he's a wold class POS and deserves to be buried UNDER the frickin' Mary Jo Kopeckne Memorial Bridge. And it should be a four-laner bridge to nowhere too.
But then I think the 9/11 memorial should be a 300 foot statue of Athena. Posed hurling a spear aimed at Mecca, with a whole F-15 on the business end of it.
If you're going to make a gesture, make a big one.
Chappaquiddicare
It has really been working for Obama, look at how his numbers have tanked. This is a three day rolling average, so they started to tank right about the time Obama's brownshirts really "turned up the heat" on Rush.

The Krystalnacht of the stock market, however, continues apace.
Calling Fillup Moreice.
"He looks like he needs a cigarette."
...-
"Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown
Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told."
"the new president is not getting enough rest."
"Obama is overwhelmed."
US State Dept. official: ""There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment.""

What's the deal with this adminstration targetting private citizens... Limbaugh and now Jim Cramer the 'Mad Money' guy for pete sakes!!! Loved the Kennedy poll too!
maz2 - that is truly a disgusting quote!
The person who said that should be out the door pronto
Arrogance - expected in "the left" - but still surprisingly open.
Long time viewer and one who constantly recommends this wonderful site. But, I am saddened by the poll with respect to remembering Ted Kennedy. It seems unlike you, unnecessary and beneath you.
American citizens shouldn't accept Knighthoods. And the Queen should not be giving a Knighthood to, well - any Kennedy; but TED?
You guys do realize that the left raisng Rush up to the defacto leader of ther right is a stroke of brilliance.
American politics is a battle for the middle. Rush can rally the right like nobody else but he can NEVER win the majority of the centre. He is as polarizing as Palin.
This play will push the majority including the centre further away from the Rush minded right.
Rush is a ratings driven product he will not turn away the chance to grow it. If he was a politician that was too polarizing the RNC would tell him to lay low.
Rush is only gaining audience with current right voters he is not winning over the left.
"father figures [like Rush]"
sarge here
while sarge thanks god for addled freaks like rush as the defacto head of the reublican party
sarge also thanks god sarges own daddy wasnt a lying overwight pill popping draft dodger no sarges daddy fought a tour in the south pacific and another in korea like a man sarge dont like to brag but sarge was ready an willin for his trip the Desert Shield/Storm no butt zits or nuthin.
so rushbo sarge wants to know how does a pimple on yer ass make you a 4F?
ps what does a guy do in the dominican republic with a head full of oxy and viagra?
RoC
and that is the Dem's plan, 'cept its causing the Owe's numbers to drop, and that is unintended consequences
I only wish we had a Canadian version of Rush.
You're kidding, right? Never heard of the Corus chorus of hypocritical, right-wing, open mouth yahoos? Adler, Green, Gormley, Rutherford, etc?
Limbaugh clones are a dime a dozen.
I've had a few epiphanies listening to Rush Limbaugh. Despite the hysterical caterwauling of the left, he's not a hate-filled or ranting kind of guy; more often than not he's laughing at idiots like barney frank, pelosi, reid and maobama.
Some of his guest-hosts are excellent, too. Steyn's guested before, as well as Walter E. Williams (economics prof). My favorite guest host is Jason Lewis, and one can learn more practical economics from an hour or two of listening to him than in watching cbc for a month.

Ah yes a dime a dozen...on the other hand the leading lights of leftard comment..Al Franken, Chris Mathews, the whole team behind Air America, Jane Taber, Craig Oliver,Bobby Fife, Peter Mansbridge and the entire CBC newsgroup (with the exception of Rex), Tonda Mc Charles, Jim Travers and the Scam Wow Kitty eater et al couldn't come up with a dimes worth of common sense amongst the whole dirty dozen.
As a matter of fact I bet this whole sordid collection can't even come close to 25 million listeners/readers/viewers a day...it's impossible for that many people that stupid to simultaneously concentrate unless Michael Jackson or Paris Hilton are fronting the show.

"I have to say that Lowell Green of CFRA 580 in Ottawa is a great shit disturber. He's getting on in years, but he's only getting better with time." -- Agreed. I think Lowell is a bit of an acquired taste, but once acquired, no one can beat him.
I think the Kopechne poll option is a bit of a cheap shot.
We used to use the term "Good German", but now I am going to start using the term "Good American" like sarge, who hates all the right people, thinks only pure thoughts that come to him directly, via email, from the leader of our glorious revolution.
You are a "good American" sarge. Your dutiful hate is an inspiration to us all, what will the weekly hate be next week? Will it still be Rush? Or will it be some new target who presents some tiny sliver of resistance to Obama's pure purpose?
Maybe the guy who made this float showing a petite blond girl representing Europe hanging on to Obama's, well, not exactly his coat tails...
http://www.thepeoplescube.com/red/viewtopic.php?t=3061
Wasn't the "Weekly Hate" a feature of Orwell's 1984? I am pretty sure it was, I knew I heard that somewhere.
Amen, Syncrodox...
Remember the Amadeus movie (Life of Mozart) where the Director tells the Vienna Emperor that Mozart's music had "Too many notes for the human ear to withstand"
In the case of the cabal of lefty cheerleaders you list just change the quote by replacing "notes" with "unicorns" and "ear" with "brain" and you get the just of it.
11 million Americans learning the truth. This can't be good for Dear Leader.
I've watched Rush, I've taken stock of his influence and popularity.
But almost all of what he does is just propaganda to my ears. I guess there is maybe something BACKING UP what he says as more than just entertaining satire, parody, or the keen manipulation of his predictably audience's emotions, but it just doesn't work on me yet.
Its like you people believe that I should just recognize common sense, and "wake up" from my current convictions. OK, what now, should I go dig up that backing information or should I just take your word for it all?
This whole assault against Rush Limbaugh is symptomatic, IMHO, of the juvenile dysfunction that permeates the left. Forget your Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals, this is pure middle school behavior: Pick out one kid and gang up on him so you and your friends feel superior.
