Read the comments they're hi-larious.
Perhaps they meant "sell the newspaper infrastructure if no buyer wants it as a going concern". Five pages of comments so far, that has got to hurt.
Speaking of hurt, John Tory lost after making a maximum effort at face to face chitchat in a pretty solid Tory riding. There is a lesson there somewhere.
A little blurb slipped across the Rogers cable news headlines on Chan 5 cable schedule page last evening a few times and then zip everywhere in newspapers I checked today. Something about 50 people laid off from the TO Star's ad department. Those scary footsteps...................... Talk about asteroids.
" .. plans to (try to ?) sell the newspaper if no buyer steps forward."
Otherwise give it away ?
John Tory lost the by-election! YESSS!!! For all you non-Ontarians out there, that's a good thing because the guy is oblivious to common sense and politically disastrous. Oh ya, and he's only slightly less liberal than Dalton McLiar.
Man oh man there are a lot of angry people in the comments section. As I’ve said before the MSM is dead they just need to be buried.
The pandering bias finally did them in. Particularly online where we see the "Rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would have put it, before their subtly prepared lies.
Its taken em this long to figure it out. Really!
The skunk finally let go with the biggest one yet last year with Obama worship. Now naked with the removal of all truth by themselves, this group now pretends there going to a ball. This is the result.

How do you sell something if there are no buyers???Or is that just leftie logic?
Hey.I'll offer a buck.
IM GETTING REALY FED UP WITH SOME STUPID LIBERLS CALLING ME A RELATION TO A DINASOUR IM LIABLE TO GET VIOLENT WITH THESE LIBERALS IM GOING TO PICK OUT THEIR EYES SQUAWK SQUAWK SQUAWK
Hey,Spurwing. Where you been hiding? Squawk.
Wow, those comments are hilarious!
First glance at the first few comments and I thought, oh hey this is not going well for the begging of donations for those deeply layered journalists of this newspaper.
Ha, I HOPE the unicorns are not on their way.
Those deeply layered journalists, four is it, will be letting the next three generations of all to carry their debt from now.
Train wreck is happening a bit faster than I expected.
not surprisingly tonight i'm channeling Gutenberg and let me tell you he's PISSED!..........he claims it's not the fault of the medium(he must be playing pinochle up there with McLuhan)...it's the fault of the message.
Now is the time for wealthy, fair-and-balanced-minded right-wingers to step in and buy up the failing Big Media outlets and transform them as appropriate.
Or for groups of fair-and-balanced folks to pool their funds and buy 'em up and ensure that "progressives" never again hijack these media outlets for propaganda, radical-agenda-driven and extreme social-reengineering purposes.
Got to fix what's broken!
I'm also glad to see Spurwing Plover back. Someone has to do it...
I had the same question.
How does one sell something if there is no buyer?
My friend who's trying to sell her house would be interested in that trick.
Well there trying to save GM and Chrysler and there's no buyer for their products either...
Lefty logic fer sure...
I liked the part where reality challenged Reporter Daniel Lathrop utters in true inane liberal problem solving mode that grant money might save them. Scratching their little skulls for solutions they must have pondered what would our Anointed One, the Obaminator, do?
Well, at least they'll flame out knowing how truly loathed they were. The unanimous hate filled comments are priceless.
Good riddance to the PI. Hopefully, the SF Chronicle will soon follow. But I'm holding off on popping the champagne cork for that glorious day when the New York Times comes crashing down.
The solution to saving news papers is right in front of us. I don't watch the ceeb, ctv or any other Canadian networks except for Music and sports, yet they mysteriously, or not so mysteriously still show up on my channel list, and I still get the bill for these unused channels.
Were I BO, I would institute the "news paper tax" at about $0.50/per day; then, I would tax households for paper removal generating income for the government and saving trees. After all, it's about saving jobs, the environment and culture.
