I am one of the researchers responsible for updating the Water Chronicles map shown on this page, and take it very seriously. The maps are updated daily. We have good sources in most provinces but in Ontario and Alberta there is no public information available. We have to rely on media advisories. Although Ontario still posts advisories on its water site, they have not been updated since October 2008
Please email us at armstrong.water@gmail.com to let us know of any incorrect boil water advisory on our maps. Our aim is to provide a valuable service.
The Water Chronicles also offers daily water news roundups, reports on water issues in Canada and the US, and live interviews.

The Water Chronicles site is here.

Indeed.
Because Dalton McGuinty promised that something like Walkerton would never happen again.
Oh...wait...he meant we wouldn't find out about something like Walkerton happenning again.
Silly me.
Ottawa river has seen tritium, freon, and a few billion litres of raw sewage spills in the last 2 years. Did you read about the leak at Chalk River? Of course not, actual environmental hazards featuring actual carcinogens take a back seat to speculative hypothetical climate change scenarios.
Friggin' nuclear spill in the very water that is piped into Elizabeth May's Rockliffe mansion, it barely makes the news, and she's still on about global warming that might take place next century. Hmmm.
Apparently Dalltoid's washer has only the spin cycle on it.
what an asshole he's turned out to be,.... wait for it, he'll be banning water reporting next.
For those of you who haven't seen it, Penn & Teller's Bull$h!t had an episode on bottled water.

Funnily enough, here in Calgary about 2 years ago or so we had "water bars" and some restaurants had "water menus" just like wine menus. I don't know if they're still around, I can't imagine Calgarians getting too excited about that sort of garbage. Vancouver on the other hand...
there's the O2 bar at YYC international!
Yes, thx PnP, I'd forgotten about that!
No water advisory updates in Ontario? That's nothing, try finding out which hospitals in your town are closed due to Norwalk Virus outbreaks.
Hint, phone them up and they -might- tell you. It ain't posted anywhere.
Speaking of bad water...

If you as a farmer hire a company to come and empty your septic tank and they empty it and proceed to dump it in the river are you as the Farmer Liable?
Cause that's pretty much what Suncor did.

You'd think fisherman would know the difference between a Tongue and a Jaw.
They seem to be really big on "man made climate change" at that water site. Fairly irrational if you ask me.
Just obsess about the tar sands, than you can all go about forgetting most where worse than Alberta.
This is exactly what these politicians want you too.
It would blow the cover of “Certain Interests“, with the many tax dollars they where out to steal into the climate change propaganda. Meanwhile because of Government health care they can lie about real health problems. Force Drs to follow orders against their own conscience if not medicine . All to protect mismanagement. This is what you call the abyss not the slippery slope.
Your own polity is willing to kill its own population to hide ideological failings. That's fascism folks.
That’s why we don’t have property laws in Canada. You see only landed Gentry can really have a franchise. Serfs work a lifetime to live on what they claim is ultimately the governments land unless passed to others with the requisite tax that they pay a lifetime for as well. On it goes no matter how much is payed. Its claimed for all but in real life, held by few. You own the house only.
JMO
of course it wont happen again.
what happens in Los Ontario Stays in Los Ontario.
I'm so pleased to see that Stan and Frank Koebel have found new jobs with Dalton in Ontario. They are in charge of Public Affairs on Boil Water Advisories, aren't they? Or does it just seem like it?
A good reason to not drink City water that hasn't been filtrated a dozen times.

not reported in the MSM so far. but the doctor up there in Ft. Chip was suspended for making false accusations about cancer rates.
the health problems up there stem from consumption of fire water not athabaska water.
Too bad the site is broken. Click on BC and you get an error. Nice idea, bad execution.
