It's an old fashioned "family" reunion;
Some federal Liberal Party activists are wondering if and why new interim leader Michael Ignatieff is giving back power to key players who backed Paul Martin in the internally bitter and divisive leadership battle with Jean Chretien to become Prime Minister.
And they are asking questions, quietly and privately, about why controversial Liberal Bruce Clark is chairing the high dollar donor Laurier Club in BC, among other roles in fundraising for the party.

Laurier Club , why thats Ted's off quoted lieberal support group thats reciept free.
These are all the guys and gals (Ms Clark) that WK has "gone to war" with in the past. I wonder how well they are all getting along now?
Heh.Is this like an "all in the family" reunion,or just the same old, same old, crap from the "natural ruling party?
family reunion for sure: but what have they done with the body of borat dion....has he been hidden away like puffin poo or has there been an actual sighting....
Will Danny Williams be attending the reunion?
Good one Stubby, now the conservatives need a little catch phrase like the lieberals and the media have suppplyed these theives. Lets have a contest to give the Conservatives their own little "natural governing party" slogan. Something like, "The cleaning up from years of Liberal stealing". Lets see if the pundits run with that, I think not.
No doubt Elections Canada will be keeping an eye on these birds of a feather. Hope they are not running out of brown bags. Liberal lives are like the ebbing tide in a harbour, the further they go out the more mud they expose.
Are these guys goin to the family reunion to meet women?
Will Unca Mo be crossing the puddle for this meeting? It would not be the same for the Ol Power Corps gang if it's real walking, talking corpse (unca Mo Stlong, the Kyottee 'genius') were not there in his red mao suit!
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..." Michael Iggnatieff Corleone
Gee. A Liberal backroom boy is tied to a windmill power company. What are the odds of that?
No honor amongst thieves.
Does Sh*thead from Hell have a brother? I see a familiar name there...
"A short, squat man with an intense stare behind his gold-rimmed glasses, Morselli was called "the real party boss" at the inquiry by former Quebec-wing director-general Daniel Dezainde -- who said he felt his life was in danger after he had crossed Morselli. The brown paper bag left in a trattoria, Morselli's strong accent, his link with a cabinet minister of Italian origin "

CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS
Gomery Investigation
The Laurier Club is a story in and of itself. It's hard to say exactly what's going on, but for some reason, it appears that donations to the Liberal Party of Canada made through the Laurier Club somehow don't make it into Election Canada's database. They're supposed to, one hundred percent of the time.
Consider this: Wk pointed out, in the course of correcting someone who'd claimed Ignatieff didn't donate any money to the LPC in one particular year, pointed out that Ignatieff had donated, through the Laurier club, and he even specified the years Iggy was a member: 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. Bear in mind that in the case of the Laurier Club, a membership IS a donation, in effect. It seems unlikely, bordering on impossible, that Kinsella is wrong about Iggy being a member of the Laurier Club, so why are his donations not showing up on the Elections Canada database of donors to political parties?
In this thread --
http://1anxiousliberal.wordpress.com/2009/02/03/king-iggy-2008-donation-to-liberals-0/
-- various commenters note that their contributions, too, made to the Liberals made via the Laurier Club, don't show up, either, somehow, in the Elections Canada database --
"It seems Laurier Club members aren't turning up in the EC database. It's too bad EC has inaccurate data in this case..."
"I'm a Laurier Club member and my numbers are not in there. It seems like a problem with Elections Canada or the numbers that the party submitted."
"(Ignatieff) was a member of the Laurier Club in 2006, 2007 and 2008. These are considered donations to the LPC...I personally contributed this way and I cannot find any data on my own contributions. I think there is a different form...not sure why Elections Canada website is not up to date on this."
There are many bricks in the Lib Mahal...
why does my mind wander to memories of the Apalachin estate in upper New York state ?
is there nowhere like minded businessmen can meet without all this unnecessary scrutiny ?
why does my mind wander to memories of the Apalachin estate in upper New York state ?
was our friend Baggliano there????????
Speaking of Uncle Moe, didn't he have a column in one of our papers about China buying out Detroit?
GYM, Baggliano got some of our money to start a vinyard through farm loans. No idea where that enterprise is set up.
Hopefully his vino will be better than that which is better than brown bag quality.
The liberals need money but for now for their convention dinner will be AT BURGER KING- the closest they can get to reign themselves.
I think i hear the unmistakable sound of Warren Kinsella's head exploding.
A little off-topic. Looking at the extremely handsome Ignatieff got me to thinking(sort of).If the media paints Icky as a dashing deboner type of fellow, will they also take him to task on his inexperience as they did to Palin? Mrs. Palin has more time invested in her country than Ignatieff probably ever will, yet she was portayed as just another pretty face. Double standard?... For the record,I don't find either one to be an exceptional stimulus to my package, though Sarah does have a quirky appeal.
Just to shed a little perspective..
I'm an alumnus of Upper Canada College. If you contribute $1,000/yr to the Foundation OR to any particular College fund (scholarship, athletics, academics, etc.), you will get a tax receipt for a $1,000 contribution.
You will also automatically and at no charge be made a member of the "Council of 1829" for that year. Now, as far as the school goes, that means you get to join a private cocktail party with the Principal at the Founder's Day dinner, and a similar do at the annual Association Day bun-fest. Presumably, this gives you a chance to make your views known about the school's direction (although, never having made such a contribution, this is conjecture on my part).
The important thing is you cannot make a contribution to the "Council of 1829" directly; it doesn't exist as a charitable entity, or indeed a financial entity of any kind.
Now, I don't know if the Laurier Club is formed along similar lines or not, but it's certainly plausible, from the way it's described, that it could be. I'm all for keep a close eye on the Libs, but I'm not entirely convinced in this case that there is either smoke or fire.
Boy, the slime just runs off the screen after that 'family reunion' eh?
Yeah, organized crime and their strangle hold on the Liberal party is as strong as ever... What a bunch of scumbags Liberals are... In regards to the "raid on the legislature" I believe, like a lot of others, that the reasons behind this raid will never reach a court, nor will it ever be completely exposed and vetted, it will simply be covered up. The fact that it's taking so long to actually be brought before a court says a lot, the more time that is wasted, the less likely anyone will ever be punished. It's all about covering up the corruption and thats why media types have absolutely nothing to say in regards to the so-called "raid on the legislature". The MSM in B.C. have done thier idological comrades in the federal Liberals a real solid by all but ignoring this story. Just as a note of interest Mr.Clarks sister Christy Clark is a former Liberal cabinet minister in the Campbell government, she resigned her position in the wake of the "raid on the legislature" supposedly to look after her new baby, but instead quickly tried running for the mayor's seat in Vancouver and now has a cozy pulpit on the air for Vancouvers biggest talk radio station CKNW. Another example of the insestuious relationship between the MSM and the corrupt federal Liberal party.
