If you like satire and the scourge of all that's EU, Vaclav Klaus, you'll love this piece by EU Referendum:
Vaclav Klaus was speaking in Paris recently. He took the opportunity while there to complain that although in the last twenty years he had given hundreds of speeches and lectures throughout the world, not many of them had been in Paris. In fact, his last one was in 2003.Ever sensitive to the subtle nuances of international discourse, Klaus confessed to have picked up some slightly negative vibes, suggesting that his prolonged absence from the speaking circuits of gay Paree might just have had something to do with his choosing the "wrong topics". It is either that or it could be that his views were "politically incorrect", he said.

He is and always has been a breath of fresh air. But then of course I am biased!
Beautiful.
If only our guy Steve could stand up and give Klaus some support. Unfortunately though, Steve is not the man of principle we had hoped for and he (Klaus) seems to be on his own. It is probably only a matter of time before the jackals in the press or the European elite bring him down. Can't have people running around questioning authority, can we?
bobs...I disagree with your assessment of Prime Minister Harper.
He has made a huge impression on the international front. The one incident I recall was Bucharest when he ruffled a few feathers by standing up for Israel, and insisting on the re-wording of the mandate of the day.
Here is one example of 'our guy Steve' and his standing up to NATO.

He has there number. Its why I support Immigration from eastern Europe unlike Western Eurabia. They spent half a century getting out of a Fascist state. We could use the expertise. Now Old Europe wants them to become slaves to a new State bent 0on controlling everyone. By the way we do have a few Vaclav Klaus. there names just as a start are Ezra Levant, Kate Macmillan, Kathy from FFF, Mark Steyn, including many more for lack of room to name them all.
JMO
Well Vaclav won't be invited to anymore of their incestuous little soirees now will he?
I just love this guy, He has the ability to tramp the ideology of the warmy's into the ground with one speech.
he can stab the heart out of the libby's with a glance. they really hate him.
And he is a big Zappa fan too!!!
Not surprised he didn't give many speeches in France.
Back in the 1980s, the French govt passed a law that all academic papers had to be published in French first.
Most of the progressive French academics cried foul since 80% of all papers published in the world at the time were in English first, because it is the greatest, most loved language in the world (ok I said that just to pi$$ off you know who).
And to get known in the academic world, especially science, you had to publish in English, no matter what country you were from.
I'm not sure if France has caught up with the rest of the world yet.
Probably too busy putting out car fires.
And besides Vaclav is far ahead them anyway.
BTW, the last I saw, France does not a university ranked in the top 50 or 100 in the world.
Every time I see the term Magnificent Bastard I am sure I will not be disappointed.
V Klaus (I thought it should be spelled Klaas BTW) is a man amongst men ..... and too much for the effete Euro-pussies by a long shot.
An Off Topic thought... Anyone been watching the British series "Life On Mars" ?
"We're the bastards that are going to fix you."
Thank-you for posting this Kate. Ever since this man refused to cave to the tobacco banning fanatics (he said a ban like that would hurt business), I have been a huge fan of his, I have since had the joy of following his common sense approach to to 'Glob al' warming thingie - it is a hoax, he said, beneath serious consideration; but he hastened to say, pollution is a problem. He opines that disarming civilians and confiscation of private property are the primary steps of a tyrant (left or right sounding: a tyrant is a tyrant!)....this man knows the brutal boot of Nazi and Soviet tyranny, he is speaking from experience - I admire and respect him - I wish he were the President of United States! He is indeed, a Magnificent Bastard. Mr Klaas is on the same page as our Prime Minister.
Thankfully we have such a Prime Minister here in Canada. If only America had not taken that left turn...it would have never occurred to most of us, a few years ago, that USA would put the rotten apple in the basket of Liberty.
if only i could be as subtle with language.
