From Steve Chandler: "Fearless - Creating the Courage To Change The Things You Can."

Quoting Margaret Mead is never the way to reel me in (and does that photograph qualify technically as kiddy porn?)
I dunno - shallow and cultish or up-by-the-bootstraps inspiring? Someone tell me what to think (I'm too sleepy).

His comments remind me of my thoughts regarding the funding of arts.

Harper was blasted about pulling some(not all) of the funding to the arts. Let's look at this rationally here.

Historically and presently the most colourful arts and culture come from the developing nations.

The great music and literature that came out of Ireland during their depressed times. African culture thrives, and so does that of the Central and South Americas. Mexico dominates the North Americas.

Saying that, when was the last time a song came out of North America that can go down in history.

It was the hard times that developed true creation in these places and I know that if money was thrown at them to keep producing it, it would have only gone down hill.

Hard times provides the true test to humanity.

Same as mamba.....lost me as soon as he quoted the fraud Mead.Maybe somebody who read the whole thing can tell me what cult he is trying to start.

Before dismissing this individual out of hand, remember that he and his pals run Canada and just took over the U.S.

Although their objectives may be destructive, their methods are effective. We would do well to pay attention...

Yep...sounds like some of the charactars from a Frank Peretti novel.

OH MAN I just finished "The Secret" now I have to do this......

I had a look at the numerous books listed down the left side of his screen that he has written or collaborated on. He appears to specialize in everything. Good for him. I think he could give Obama a run for his money.

"Creating the Courage To Change The Things You Can"

I might suggest that before you change the things you can, you check to see if they are things that need changing.

I don't know why, but self-affirmation guru's and personal life coaches bring out the most cynical in me. I guess because first I must embrace the premise that I am not quite good enough already...And second that this specific person holds the key to my improvement. Possibly true, but still, it triggers my hostilities.

Wow. I had thought that the undergraduate course that I had with a lab session on Friday at 5:30 would lead to some non-sequetorial English.

The author is correct: neutral is a shift with a standard transmission.

I knew a guy that attended an EST seminar that Erhard was doing back in the early 80's. Was rather cult-like if I recall correctly.

Sounds like a great way to blow $20.00 a month and learn some really great jargon to bamboozle your friends with.

The stuff he says about personal integrity is mostly true, in a tautological sort of way. The problem I have with Mr. Erhard is that he doesn't seem to have much himself. Wasn't too good to his wives as I recall. Really unpleasant divorce settlement with wife #2.

He inspired great respect, then failed to live up to it. Possibly he's cleaned up his act of late, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Or even $20.00 a month.

Steve Chandler? Never heard of him. Riding on Werner's dusty coat tails?

And of course Margaret Mead was just flatly incompetent. Suckered in Samoa, by goofy teenagers no less.

Please recognize the truth in the saying attributed to Margaret Mead. It is easy to post not an immediate reaction learned from a casual conversation or possibly a writer with their own agenda. I do not know the reason for calling Margaret Mead a fraud, but I do know the quotation shown is prominently displayed in the Little Rock Arkansas Civil Rights Museum in recognition of the significance and courage of the Little Rock Nine. I will google Margaret Mead while you google the Little Rock Nine Museum. Cheers;

Paging L. Ron Hubbard ...

I'm with cold Canadian, self-affirmation guru's and personal life coaches kind of annoy me.

In fact it is their overboard-extreme optimism that annoys me the most.

I will join their club the day their books and seminar can grow hair on my bald spot.
