Hahahaha, looks like some of the WorkShops they offer here on Campus.
Gona go shoot my new (old) Chinese MK-90 aka AK-47 this weekend, will have to make sure the AUTO switch is off, last time I went shooting had two banana clips duct-taped together and was running around shouting Allah Ackbar I'm Mohammad Achmed the Terrorist, SHUTUP, or I Kill You. Some of my Buddies Girlfriends didn't think that was too funny, ;-)

I guess "justice for all" was creating to much of that life in violent freedom, so they had to be more specific with "social justice for some"; but who would thought teachers could be socially dangerous?
btw...newspeak WARNING! The left has the fetish with "consensus" and now it is translated by bureaucrats at all levels of government as "consistency".
You people are so silly laughing at these workshops. In the age of Obama this is the new school curriculum. All you who resist are unpatriotic or even worse - unfit to live outside an insane asylum.
The fact that you even read this blog is proof of your insanity. Continue reading this site at your peril - Barabara Hall will soon be monitoring you. Visitor logs will be examined. It is not too late to join the enlightened - sign up for one of these courses today.
Kevin Lafayette, I think this quote of Abraham Kuyper might be the one you're thinking of:
"When principles that run against your deepest convictions begin to win the day, then battle is your calling, and peace has become sin; you must, at the price of dearest peace, lay your convictions bare before friend and enemy, with all the fire of your faith."
I found this at www.reformedreflections.ca/cultural-political/tyranny-of-tolerant.pdf
which looks like a Canadian article of interest.
The barbarians have captured the cultural citadel and I think we've reached the point about which Kuyper is speaking. But are there enough faithful and brave men and women to "take up the quarrel with the foe"? With so many powers of the state ready to shoot them down, I'm truly worried that there are not.
F1 ‘That’s so gay, is not okay!’
We will explore scenarios and discuss effective strategies to counteract homophobic slurs in school. Tired of hearing, “That’s so gay”? This is not a beginner’s workshop; participants should have some previous awareness or understanding of homophobia or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or questioning (LGBTQ) issues.
F13 The Unexamined Meal is Not Worth Eating
In this session we will be identifying the social issues surrounding food, examining common foods, teaching strategies for critical analysis of food issues and identifying resources for teaching social issues using food.
LGBTQ?? The Unexamined Meal?? These people cannot be for real...but unfortunately they are and they are teaching our kids.
TJ - Socrates said in his trial that "The unexamined life is not worth living". (If you knew this already, sorry and not trying to be condescending, I just came across this a while ago so I thought I would mention that.) It's obviously one of those things where someone spends a while trying to think of a clever name for their course.
I suppose that a course like this could be interesting in the right context - making kids think of where food actually comes from, and exploring the history of agriculture (eg the potato and tomato were unknown in the old world until the 1400s) - but I'm sure that there won't be a lot of deep drinking at the Pierian spring.
Either we have justice for the individual, or we have no justice at all. Given this, what the hell is "social justice" even supposed to mean?
To answer my own question, the term "social justice" is the icing which coats the socialist cake. It's a collectivism delivery system. Ultimately it's an excuse used to deny individual - meaning actual - justice.
F12 Animal Welfare: A Key
Component of Social Justice
Considering animal welfare issues from a variety of perspectives will give students the opportunity to use critical thinking skills, develop empathy and ignite compassion. Issues such as the treatment of animals used for food, in entertainment, in research and as companions will be introduced in a manner that will enable students to analyze their own behaviours and beliefs, society norms and the need for change.
Hmm. I am wondering if anyone who consumes "flesh" products will be compared to a "psychopath" - "Antisocial Personality Disorder" seeing how cruelty to animals is a hallmark symptom of these disorders. As is not having a conscience about cruelty, or a lack of empathy. Yet, aborting the unborn is perfectly ok. I wonder if the bit about how food shapes society will be weaved into this topic? Perhaps they will discuss what eating bacon says about the psychological profile of a person.
Lookout..I'd rather be shot down by the state than live like a neutered man. It's time men became men again and quit acting like liberal sissies. Say want you want about the muslims, but at least they fight for what they want. Time we did the same. It won't be long before we won't even be able to use this blog if they pass their laws against internet free speech. Lose free speech, what's left?
Time will tell what's coming to a neighbourhood near you or me but as long as I breathe I will fight the ba*tards. If I sit back and watch and do nothing as we become part of this sissified country, then I deserve scorn. Better to die. Death, where is your sting?
So where is the "How to defend yourself with your burkha from your honour killing hubby"?
Or..."How do successfully downgrade yourself from half worth of a man to 1/4 without a male relative present"?
i break out in hives when i hear the words 'social justice'.....
so howsabout a 'workshop' for people like me ?
...why should I be marginalized ?....why should I have to live my life forever plastering myself with calamine lotion ?
Starting a gay/straight alliance conjures up some scary images.
The closest I've come to that happened about 15 years ago. I had an affair with a bi-sexual woman who had once had a relationship with KD Lang. It turned out she actually had a thing for my ex-wife. Things got pretty weird, and I came to the conclusion I should avoid all this newfangled sexual stuff.
I've never had the same sort of problems with firearm safety. Just make sure you don't point your gun at anything you don't feel sure you want to take down.
These hay-wire courses are put on for teachers? Here's a few course ideas that might actually make a difference for kids in real situations:
1) Engineering for kids: teaching children math and science in exciting ways.
2) Letting gifted children grow, even in a mediocre class.
3) Helping each child achieve their highest potential.
4) Building citizenship from an early age.
5) Building literate children in an illiterate society.
6) Classical music as a stimulant for learning.
But hey, being a better teacher isn't the issue, is it? Somehow it's left-wing activism that always takes over.
What is this, but Cultural Marxist propaganda being disseminated at the primary grades?
No way in HELL I will EVER allow those fruitcakes in the BCTF to come anywhere NEAR my kids! Currently they offer nothing but 13 years of Marxist indoctrination that children don't need to be exposed to. Oh and yes, firearms safety will be a part of the curriculum that I devise for them. They will also learn that "gay" means happy, and nothing else! There are other words to describe that other abnormal behavior.
Rick, Erik, excellent ideas. Here's another one for the list:
1. Basic statistics and probability
It astounds me how many youngsters don't understand elementary statistics and probability, not even the basic concepts. If they did they wouldn't be so easily brainwashed.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced

have told me

In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice

Nothing about vegetable rights?
Nah, the attendees are attending other meetings.
On a more serious side, our taxes are being diverted to support a "rights" industry that produces nothing of benefit to the common wealth.
"Rights" are what individuals and groups can negotiate with the rest of society.
There are no "inalienable" rights. In fact there are no "rights" at all.
If certain groups want recognition, let them put forward their agenda on their own dime - not mine.
Well, I'm in total agreement on this one:
"That's so gay, is not okay!"
These people are beyond parody.

"wants" become "rights"..... the mentality of two year old.
There is one inalienable right; it is called liberty. Give me liberty or give me death, as they say.
There was a good saying on here a few weeks ago, something about when your most dearly held beliefs are challenged, peace is no longer good.
What--No "Diana Oughton Memorial Bomb-Making Course"? We'd better get Warren on that right away.

"Brief History of Social Inclusion from the French Revolution to Today"
Say what you will about the pro's and con's of the French Revolution but it's gotta be tough to work the word "inclusion" into the conversation.
Maybe something like "Good news, we're including you in the executions tomorrow". Just 'cause you're special.

These "courses" are completely retarded.
Remember people - they are doing this with taxes paid by the few remaing productive people in the Degraded Dominion.
Unfortunately, less than 50% of eligible voters now pay any tax at all.
Under this circumstance, what is the meaning of democracy?
So where is the "How to defend yourself with your burkha from your honour killing hubby"?
Or..."How do successfully downgrade yourself from half worth of a man to 1/4 without a male relative present"?

The only reason these naive people have pretty violent free lives now is because somebody else was/is willing to sacrifice theirs to give it to them.
The Flower Children who lay down their arms usually wind up working for those who didn't.

Rick in BC - excellent points. I bet we could all come up with more:
1. Money, credit, and investing: what kids need to know
2. Critical and analytical thinking - why we don't have it, and what we can do to get it back
