Ted: You have to be kidding. There have been massive subsidies and in some cases grants to uneconomic solar and wind ( and other) power generation.

Ethanol subsidies and content mandates have cost billions and starved millions.

Clearly there has been a negative impact.

As for the hoax part, are you denying that there are people out making a quick buck on AGW fears? Sure, there are some who believe it is happening, but there are also many who just see it as a revenue source and could care less about whether it is a reality.

There is a solar power plant projected for Hawkesbury, East of Ottawa. It is being promised 42 cents per kilowatt-hour by the provincial (and stupid) government. Electricity costs 4 cents per kilowatt-hour. I suspect that the operators have a strong temptation to descend into cheating: buy the electricity from Quebec Hydro and resell it at ten times the price. Who needs the solar panels? And where is there the requirement for them?

These green schemes must be stopped; they are frauds. Over the whole production and use lifecycle, it is not clear they even produce a net energy benefit.

February 17th, the Alberta government announces that they have no money to finish two hospitals in the Calgary area, or that the funding is in serious doubt. May I suggest they scrap plans to inject carbon emissions deep under ground and use our tax dollars to fund the completion of those hospitals. Also if water vapor is 90 something percent of green house gasses, They would be better off sucking clouds out of the sky. What, sounds ridiculous no kidding.

This fraud will be the tipping point alright, of our way of life because of the massive depression it is causing and will follow through on! Were you aware that the cost to the automakers on green standards in the pipe are higher than what it's going to cost to bail them out?

The cost to the automakers for green laws is billions per year.

This is just one industry. Think oil refining. A good part of the reason for high gas prices (which are related but not entirely on oil prices) is the lack of refinery upgrades or additions. It's near impossible to build a new one.

Ontario alone has built hundreds of bird and bat killing windmills which are expensive and unreliable. The real costs of McShify's non-plan will be brownouts down the road.

So, yes, there is a strain.
