Sean Penn - F.A.G.

My-O-My

I guess that I should be ashamed for not seeing the world as his fabulous portrays it?

I am firing my *goof* gun

I started to watch and, knowing what Penn said, with his sycophantic groupies hanging on every word—what losers!—and not appreciating his bigotry regarding a person like me, I spared myself the high blood pressure and turned off the video.

(Pssst, Sean . . . WHAT grandchildren? And, if our generation should have some, the females will likely be in burqas and the gays hanging from cranes. Wake up, you idiot!)

Well, that's it for me, Hollywood, and the Oscars. Silly me thought I'd give the Oscars another gander last night.

The minute the guy who wrote the Harvey Milk screenplay got all teary eyed and went on, blah, blah, blah about gays someday being able to get married, then the Academy gave the best supporting actress award to Penelope Cruz (why? because she can speak Spanish and it was her turn?), and then Sean Penn gave that political(ly correct) screed on accepting his best actor award:

NO THANKS.

The Oscars are now completely politicized ... completely "commie," completely "homo," completely "elegant president" obsessed, as Penn puts it, and anyone who disagrees with their agenda are "haters":

NO THANKS.

A yawnfest.

hey look outi agree with you totally but remeber what yuri brezmenov said this is the beginning of a societle break down if you wantto learn more of wht i am talking about go to you tube and type in YURI BREZMENOV it is irrealiy exact to what is happening in the u.s. today watch it very scary and as well ....

For Pete's sake! It was forgone conclusion that "Milk" would win some damned award.

You could shoot a movie with a friggin' cell phone camera and cast it with paper dolls and it would win an "oscar" if you made it sympathetic to that "poor", "oppressed", "persecuted" gay lobby.

Sean's elegant president must be the shame of his future grandchildren.

Penn never really dropped too far from the Spicolli tree.

"Penn never really dropped too far from the Spicolli tree."

True, but it was from a great height. And it was his finest work.

Eh? What was wrong with what he said? I don't particularly like him either as an actor or as an individual, but this speech was completely factual, and actually quite tame.

Like most international awards these days the Oscars are awarded for Political Correctness and not performance.

Breitbart has the right idea Conservatives have to start competing in the cultural wars if we ever expect to change things.

Obviously a role model for liberal douche-bags in Canada (just think about it).

Bill Mahar - the Atheist - another dipstick who got his little speech in last night.
Last time for me to watch the Oscars.
Hollywood should be ashamed at the movies they now make.
Gran Torino was a good movie as was Fireproof but they would never have been picked for nominations. Messages with meaning in both.

Alex - how do you get 'factual' from Penn's 'opinions'?

How could anyone watch the Oscars? It's the same movies nominated for every category. It reminds me of those school competitions where every kid got a participation ribbon for showing up. Same thing here.

"Like most international awards these days the Oscars are awarded for Political Correctness and not performance."

The movie "Milk" was an 8.1 rating on IMDB, so it would appear that your opinion is in the minority. I haven't seen it myself ... actually, I hadn't even heard of it until tonight ... but if it's generating this much furor amongst bible-thumpers and homophobes, it's probably worth spending $5 to rent.

Think I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Thanks!

And that is why I never bother to watch the Oscars. A bunch of pompous, self-righteous, over-paid snobs who insist that the rest of the world must think like them.

With respect.....you guys expected something different?

C'mon, this was the heart of Obamessiah land!

These were the cheerleaders for THE ONE!

I won't say "I told you so", as I didn't post, but, I haven't watched this overindulgent sapfest in many years.

Waste-of-time.

It might be an idea if movie advertisements had to list the potential groups you would be supporting by purchasing a ticket or DVD.

Some may think twice about purchasing if they realised which whack job organisations they would be indirectly supporting.

As it is, we've stopped going to movies or buying/renting DVD's unless we can be sure that we're not indirectly supporting some idiotic eco-nazi or zoophile cult by doing so.

Alex asked: Eh? What was wrong with what he said?

For one thing, portraying the nominees (and by extention HIMSELF) as "courageous" is laugh-out-loud lunacy. Just how is it courageous to advocate the default position in uber-Liberal Hollywood, to whom he was speaking.

For another, he called the majority of Californians who voted against "gay marriage", haters. You can be for civil partnerships (which I am) but against Orwellian destruction of language, and not be a hater.

For another, the "elegant" president is a HATER par excellence. He attended a vile hate-whitey Marxist black-liberationist "Church" and included his daughters in this hate fest. He attended it for 20 years.

Finally, Penn's jaw-dropping stupidity. Is he not aware that the "elegant" president O is himself against gay marriage?!

Two good things happened at the Academy Awards:
1. Slumdog Millionaire won big.
2. WallE won.

These are honest uplifting films and these are the real things that inspire people. This crap with Milk and Mayer will go away.

If I quit watching every actor who's liberal ideas I didn't agree with, I would have to sell my tv and never go to a movie. 98% of them have caucau for brains.

point 1 - Granted.

point 2 - That's not the wording he used, but he made a valid point. The current attacks made against gay marriage are almost identical to the attacks made against interracial marriage. If history is any indication, your grandchildren will be shocked to think that grandad could have fought for such a bigoted purpose. That doesn't make you a "hater", it just makes you regressive on that one issue. Many of the founding fathers supported slavery, but that didn't make them "haters" or evil people; they were a product of their generation, and within the context of their world they were generally quite progressive, yet we still look back on some of their quotes, and cringe at the open racism and bigotry. It's quite likely that your descendants will view your words in a similar fashion.

point 3 - He may be a "hater", but he certainly is elegant. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

point 4 - largely irrelevant. Bush was a bible-thumping ex-druggie who was opposed to gay marriage, opposed to sex-ed, wanted to teach creationism in schools, stopped federal funding for stem-cell research, etc, etc. None of that stopped me from supporting him, or admiring the things which he did well. This idea that you're either 100% against someone or 100% for them is childish in the extreme. It's also VERY common on both the far-left and the far-right. You people need to grow up.

The great irony of this farce is that we are being preached-at by a "society" of folks who want us to accord "marriage" rites to gays - this - an institution that is so derided and abused by that Hollywood crowd. Spare me,PLEASE!!

First we had gays riding each other in the saddle at "broke yer back mtn".

Now they are "Milk"ing the same theme.

Do these people ever find something creative.

And Sean Penn, when your of the homo persuasion, you don't get to have grandchildren, as your behavior eliminates this possibility.

Women have traditionally served the role of mothers to children and grandchildren.

This dummy must have skipped biology class.

Bi-pedal homonids reproduce sexually with the opposite sex, because they are simply built that way. This is a brute fact of nature, get used to it.

If you swing from the chandelier like monkeys after a banana, you may get your kicks. This is not however considered marriage, get used to it.

And yes we know, you can inscribe anything in law. This however doesn't make it objectively sensible or moral. Oh but wait Hollywood doesn't have morals!

Sean Penn says, "Wah, wah, we lost Proposition #8, but we'll find some other way to ram it down your throat."

Which is like saying I believe in democracy only if it supports my position.

PS: Haven't watched the Oscars in years.

Cheers

Hans-Christian Georg Rupprecht, Commander in Chief

1st Saint Nicolaas Army
Army Group "True North"

On stage Daniel Craig referred to 1950s American suburban life as "the prison it was". Clueless a-holes, don't they realize that, in the 1950s, by the standards of the global standard of living, American suburbia was heaven?

he had all that on that small piece of paper??
what a f ing luuser

Its becoming as plain on the nose of anyone's face. He who actually had the best performance as an actor had little to do with acting ability and a whole lot more to do with a political and social agenda.

Think about it. On one hand you have a person playing the part of the reviled and hated Richard Millhouse Nixon while on the other you have an actor known for his activism (but certainly not for his cerebralism) on several issues playing the part of a gay person who wants "rights" (and we all know that none of those exist in Hollywod).

Geeeeeeeeee......I wonder who will win?

Like newspapers and TV networks of the MSM - the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is not waiting for the asteroid.

Michael Coren's Oscar acceptance speech

Well, at least the Heath Ledger (sp?) thing seems to be over. I was getting tired of a dead fag cowboy chicken chokin' joker winning all the awards. Ok, I really didn't give a crap.

p.s. - that might have been in bad taste...

Bad taste? Ahh who cares? Sounded ok to me.

Ledger was Homowood's golden boy. Good riddance.

Thanks M.Matt. That was worthwhile. Back on topic.I actually like Sean Penn,of course he is a tad delusional, but that is why they live in the land of make-believe. Penn at least gave the christian world a try, after all he did marry a girl named Madonna.

Funny that someone named "The Greek" starts such a homophobic hate-fest.

Or is that "ironic"?

It's been a while since I've seen the clenched-cheeks brigade out in such force here on sda.

Way to reinforce the stereotypes!

That doesn't make you a "hater", it just makes you regressive on that one issue... It's quite likely that your descendants will view your words in a similar fashion

Posted by: Alex at February 23, 2009 10:28 PM

Alex has judged MND's comments, and pronounced MND is not a "hater". Well, that's a relief, isn't it? Although, we're assured, MND's progeny or their offspring may look askance at his opinions, because they are "regressive". Even though they're not "hate". Thanks for clarifying that, Champ.

Once, long ago, when people didn't see eye-to-eye on issues, we said they had different thoughts or opinions. Now, thankfully to the likes of Alex and the left, we have a multitude of labels with which to affix to folks who don't march lockstep with the current PC-approved views:

- "homophobes" and "gay-haters/bashers" for those who don't embrace gay marriage, or the indoctrination of our youth into homosexuality and encouragement to experiment thereof
- "racists" for those who insist on foolishly insisting we hold people to the full extent of the law regardless of their race, creed or colour.
- "bigots" or "anti-immigrants" for those who question the rationale of admitting immigrants to this country from questionable homelands, or expecting immigrants to put Canada first and their homelands and cultures second when they become citizens
- "climate deniers" who don't buy into the man-made global warming scam
- "religious facists" who live in "jesusland" for those who wish to live by their faith, and (foolishly) believe that the country's judeo-christian roots are a good foundation for a country, as opposed to secular humanism

There's no end to the labels and resultant marginalization of non-PC thinking and expression that's out there. Alex's self-righteous pronouncements are simply a whiff of the poison that exists and threatens free speech and independent thinking everywhere.

The ironic and sad fact is that alex et al believe they are righteous in their pronouncements, and - please pardon the worthless metaphor - are on the side of the angels in their own brand of intolerance and bigotry.

It will be interesting to watch Penn and idiot cronies, once the bankruptcy of California is complete in all its glory.

Will they stay or will they go? After all it’s everything they ever asked for…………………ha ha ha ha.

sarge here. now theres some deep thinkn old mr penn is a multi millionaire why would he care is cali is bankrupt? how do an idiot make that much money/ how much money you got boy??

i think old penn might have some balls as he did go to iraq without US troops to guard him i give him more props than old bush who had to sneak in unannounced under heavy security after them major combat operations was all wrapped up

ps sarge thinks yall having a dan quayle/murphy brown moment as mr penn played a fag but aint one hisself...ya know, it's a movie...about a dude who was pretty cool... i mean he did come out of the closet unlike some in this forum

ps yall should like harvwey milk since he like...hated diane feinstien

Milk? Ia that some Michael Moore mockumentary on the dairy industry? I haven't watched the 'Oscars' for about 25 years. I've always put it in the same category as 'chick flicks'. Judging from what I scanned quickly in the free newspapers today, it was all about what frock Beyond Say was wearing. About as interesting as watching Kazakhstan's Next Top Model (actually probably less so since some of those Kazakh babes who holiday in Pattaya are pretty hot, if you go for blonds, though if you choose to go to Pattaya, you're probably not turned on by blonds)

Did I miss something? Oh ... the Oscars were on last night. I seem to recall watching them in 1973.

8.1 on imdb? Ask yourself two questions before taking that to be an accurate assessment.

1. As a low distribution athouse movie with anunabshed political
Tilt who do you think has watched it thusfar - ie pre-oscars?

2. What would you expect the group demo outlined above would rate a movie that was about them?

The imdb rating has far more to do with this movies politics than it does with it's quality. Save yourself the dough enrol in netflix for free and rent the streaming video BBC series tinker tailor soldier spy and the sequel smiley's people.

You're welcome.

Why do you people watch this crap? You're only ENABLING this herd of losers. The Oscars, the Emmy's, the Golden Globes etc. etc. etc. are nothing more than back slapping ego pumping industry garbage. Totally worthless & meaningless self serving drivel that does NOTHING to forward the greater good of mankind. I beg you all, stop watching this crap so it WILL go away.

Lowest ratings of any Oscar show....obvious why. As long as the political dipshits that have hijacked Hollywood production are focused on politics and agendas that are at odds with the values of middle America, they will continue to see the type of soft box office thay have the last 8 or so years.

Thirty years ago, this may have been a challenging movie. Now? Let's all just shrug our shoulders together, shall we??

For heaven's sake, there's a school in the US that voted a gay drag queen the homecoming queen at the school.

Who knows, maybe the next "brave and out there" movie that will be made will be one about evil Bush - you never know, there may be dark consequences.

Oh wait. . . . .

The fact, that I think homosexuality is wrong.... does not make me a bad person.....it means that I have an opinion.......

ANDY ROONEY

Andy Rooney may have been right but expressing one's opinion these days, if it differs from the left, seems to be a treasonable offense in their eyes. It is only THEIR opinions that count and they are the only ones qualified to express them.
They have created a 'hate the right' bashing industry out of Hollywood. Creating the fantasies that promote their hatred and manipulation of 'facts' to comply with their agenda of destroying any and all opposition to their views and policies. THAT is why Sean Penn's Oscar for his performance in 'Milk' and his acceptance speech are useful tools in their political ploys to push their agenda down our throats. They INTEND to do it and use any and all means to accomplish it. Al Gores 'An Inconvienent Truth' as well as Michael Moore's film frauds all prove. They use the medium to advance their message and to effect social change.
As in the Dixie Chicks who created their own mess, lost business and whined incessantly that THEY were being 'mistreated', these 'celebrity' types will not see the juggernaut coming and will wonder what hit them when it does. And it IS coming and IT will hit them where it hurts. Their pocketbooks.
People get sick and tired of the preaching and pontificating of those who presume to be our betters when it is our dollar at the boxoffice they depend on for a living.
Thousands have stopped going to movies of the Milk 'ilk', The likes of The Reader( About a Nazi child abuser) and Revolutionary Road. (Obviously Daniel Craig needs to stick to being Bond or Nazi Resistance fighting for he has absolutely NO clue what living in the suburbs in the 50's was like. )
I was a child living in the suburbs in the 50's and I can tell you it was wonderful. We were not rich but we lived a wonderful life. The war was over and the men and women came home. They were happy they had survived and had won the war. It was won at enormous price so looked at life with a joy and a wonder. It was a 'Sunny' time filled with hope and the kind of change and prosperity Obama can only dream of.. he would not even know enough to dream that kind of dream.
It truly was a magical time, full of new inventions ( starting with a television in even the most modest homes and inventions came hot and heavy and that has not stopped to this day) People being able to get a job and pay for a new car and clothe and educate their children. Schools were good , teaching was fine and life settled into a happy, warm rythym that is mirrored today in places far flung from the politics of Washington and liberal social bullies of the West Coast.
Middle America, Middle Canada all know what I am talking about. Those of us raised in those times in the suburbs grew up with that foundation. Belief in accomplishing things. Instilled with a sense of responsibiliy and willingness to work and make our own lives mirror that with which we had been so happy in childhood.
All too soon it was the Hippies. Haight, Ashbury. Timothy Leery, LSD.....and Assassins and Vietnam... but. FOR A TIME it was wondeful and glorious. I resent those who have no clue making a movie that depicts suburbia in the 50's as 'the prison it was'.
The only prisons were of individuals own making whether they were in Suburbia or anywhere else.

The biggest put down of the night, something that showed the true (small, not-nice, not-generous) character of Sean Penn, was his neglecting to thank his wife, Robin Wright Penn. He thanked his "best friend," who I thought might have been his wife, and then everyone under the sun, but not the person who is closest to him -- and has to put up with him 24/7.

I know the thanking of mom, dad, wife, kids, and family dog gets cloying but Penn's "oversight" was glaring, especially with all the shots of his wife in tears, obviously Penn's #1 supporter and fan. I guess after his speech extolling the virtues of gay marriage, it was just too much for him to acknowledge his own heterosexualist marriage.

Hmmm ... 'wonder what the bedroom scene was like after all of the Oscar parties ...

Well said, mhb and Snowbunnie. I grew up in the 50s too, and, yes, it was great. Kids could play outside--away from adults--all day long because it was SAFE! We learned to negotiate for ourselves and get along. We were civil and did NOT resort to foul language. Our pleasures were simple and home grown. We weren't warehoused in day care centres because our Moms were home. The boundaries and expectations for our behaviour were clearly set and we felt secure. We were genuinely happy most of the time, unlike the anxious, angry, entitled kids who now fill our schools.

Hollywood is a blight. I avoid its movies and haven't watched the Oscars for years: what a passel of preening, pretentious peacocks. Deluded too.

I don't particularly like him either as an actor or as an individual, but this speech was completely factual, and actually quite tame.

"Factual"? Please.

Bigoted, maybe. I don't live in CA, but I did vote for a marriage amendment when it was on the ballot in my state a few years ago. Like CA, it passed - but with a wider margin of victory (60-40%).

I - and the others who voted - have no "shame" for voting our values, the hallmark of a free and democratic society. I will not pass shame to my grandchildren for standing up for what's right, what's true, and what protects the cornerstone of civilized socieites: the traditional nuclear family.

Penn's assertion that we're bigots for voting in what we sincerly believe is laughable. And his plea for "equality" is total BS - because the left denies us our right to speak, think, worship and vote freely if we don't toe their lines and embrace their ever-changing social mores.

Iron Man should have won Best Picture.
