The "stimulus" package and the political machinations that surround it remind me of a scene towards the end of Atlas Shrugged in which Eddie Willers is desperately trying to restart a stalled locomotive by randomly throwing switches and levers. Ultimately, his efforts are futile.

Fast forward to 2009, where we can now watch the futile efforts of Barack Willers to "restart" the economy through an endless array of Keynesian lever-pulling and pump-priming.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

After this stimulus package fails to have the desired result, how long will it be before another $1 Trillion stimulus package is forced upon the American public?

Obama has absolutely no knowledge of or understanding of economics, industrial and market infrastructure, fiscal management etc. Nothing.

He left the 'stimulus package' up to Pelosi and Reid to write; he obviously hasn't any understanding of its effects of no jobs, no stimulus, a lot of pork projects and a massive future debt.

But Obama is not a 'thinker'; he's not someone who analyzes or develops policies or programs. He is a narcissist and has only one focus: Himself. In this case, Himself as Sovereign. Not as leader of the people, answerable to the people, with power resting in the people.

No, as Sovereign, the ultimate will rests in Him. Not the people. His focus is on the Power to Make Others Do Things. Again, he's not interested in the 'content of the thing'. Only in his Power to make you do it.

So, to get this 'stimulus package' passed, since he can't use reason or logic to persuade the House to pass it - because the bill is unreasonable and illogical, he's going to The People. He's campaigning. Because the people, who haven't read the over 800 pages of the document, will be mesmerised by his campaign tactics of:

Misinformation
Manipulation Using Emotions of Hope and Fear
Accusations that you are biased if you don't agree with him.

He wants this manipulated public to pressure the Senate, the people who are reading the document, who are resisting its waste, its debt, its uselessness.

Notice what Obama said the other day. He referred to a criticism that the program was 'just spending'. He laughed the criticism off, he sneered at it, by saying: Spending? Spending IS Stimulation'.

Now wait a minute. There's something he left out. 'Spending' is a verb. We have to ask, spending on what? What Obama hid with his manipulative sneer at the Republican criticisms that the spending was...on pork. On wasteful programs that wouldn't create jobs, that wouldn't help small and medium businesses expand, that wouldn't stimulate..the economy. Instead of clarifying what the spending would be on, Obama instead told the public that 'spending is the same as stimulation'. No.

These pork programs might stimulate the ego of Obama; they might stimulate the ego of Pelosi and Reid with their socialist agendas. But they have nothing to do with the economy. Nothing.

Will the American people wake up from this mesmerising hallucination? As I said, when I go to Democratic blogs, there's not a word said about the content of the program. Silence about its viability, silence about the criticisms.

The focus is on Power. The Power to make the Republicans pass the bill. Even though the Senate doesn't need many - it's still about The Power to make the Republicans do what Obama says.

When a narcissist whose focus is on Power is confronted with opposition, he'll turn vicious, malicious and very nasty. We have seen that already in Obama with his sneers and contempt. But what else will he do? He has no ability to develop programs, only to have others provide them - and he'll sell them.

Insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

NoOne, just watch, after everything that Obama does, the people will vote him in for a second term because he'll definately probably, well probably not, but we're crossing our fingers that voting Obama a second time might bring the hope and change he promised but didnt deliver the first time around.

Note: The current "stimulus" package (aka "PorkFest") is sitting at $820,000,000,000.

For those not so quick with the math, that is Eight Million Two Hundred Thousand (8,200,000) times more money ... and the vast majority of the MSM chooses to not delve into the justification for how any of it will be spent.

And those same members of the MSM have the audacity to tell us that they have no particular political bias!

Why am I not feeling elated, now that the MSM is admitting that the Obamessiah is a novice "and it's showing"? (So, this is news? A whole lotta folks, including McCain and Palin, even Biden and Clinton, were saying this all through the election campaign.)

It's scary as H*ll that this political neophyte is the President of the most powerful nation in the world, and basically doesn't know what he's doing.

Obama's looking troubled and spooked, as it dawns on him that living in the White House isn't just about raising his social status, having his cronies over to watch the Super Bowl, and thumbing his nose at his political opponents. Neither is it about making edicts that Congress WILL carry out, because His Narcissistic Highness has decided that's what needs to be done.

Just saw a talking head on the boob tube (MSNBC) chastising the Republicans for not getting with the game as spending stimulous is a ""proven way to get out of this problem. No facts or figures but then again leftoids and the MSN never needed any to sell their koolade.

Of course you can see the Republicans that didn't fall in line are already being set up as scapegoats when the big "O" plan falls flat.

The die-hard lefties are still too busy stocking up on their Obama inaugural steak-knive sets to notice that none of the promises he made have come true, and they likely won't really START to notice for another 6-8 months.

Everything goes along smoothly until it doesn't. If there is huge inflation (likely), an economy that flounders for years (likely) or a successful terrorist attack on American soil (probable) Obama will be toast. No amount of media cover up will save him if enough people are hurt in the wallet or security.

I am normally an optimistic person but it is hard to see how the next 5 years can go well. Even if we had a solid, experienced, true conservative or moderate at the helm these next few years would have been tough. A Zero with Zero experience is becoming the largest spending president in the history of the USA in only his first three weeks in office - this is a recipe for chaos. The only good that may come from this disaster is a return to sanity for many voters currently living in DreamLand. One has to hope. At some point you have to stop spending money you do not have.

In case you missed it, Obama has rescinded an executive order which prevented limiting government construction contracts to unionized companies. This means now that 84% of construction workers who work for non-unionized companies are out of the loop.

NOW: Remember those "solid economic appointments" cited as evidence of his move toward the centre: to wit, Summers and Volcker. Clearly, these guys were meant as window dressing. Virtually all economists -- except those pimping for unions -- believe that unions are disastrous for the economy.

This is how the nation's first marxist affirmative action community-organizing president will try to transform the US into a euro-socialist state. Will he succeed?

More and more articles are being written about Obama's psychological nature, as a narcissist, and, as Galganov says, as a demagogue, as someone who can't handle dissent, as someone who rages against anyone who disagrees, as someone who psychologically needs to manipulate and control.

But the Democrats can't say this yet. I wonder - will they ever be able to acknowledge what they have done to America?

But, while waiting for Wheel of Fortune, I turned on ABC news to (inadvertently) catch the tail end. It focused on a single entrepeneur in Indiana who makes solar powered roof exhaust fans (fans to pull hot air out of attics). Not a bad idea, except it only applies to places like California, Florida, Mexico, etc. Such fans wouldn't do a heck of a lot of good here in Toronto for six months of the year, let alone anyone farther north.

The segment was introduced with the comment that President BamBam faced a lot of angry questions in Elkhart today, but the "sole" positive voice was this builder. Er, um, how come of all the angry and dissenting voices, the only positive spin was selected?

Someone, please, help me keep my head from spinning off - wasn't this the same news organization that, during the most intense phases of the Iraq war, ignored every bit of positive news to present the day's only negative story?
