"Patriot-Ledger article oddly fails to address the issue of long-term prospects for rare Arctic birding opportunities in Massachusetts under global warming."

About climate change, I was surprised to read a stinging critic in the Huffington Post. Yes, you read it right:

Well, you know what they say:
One good tern deserves another.

Vit....ughhhhhh.Besides,Arctic terns will eat from your hand ,AND not shite on your head, unlike gulls and lieberals.

AGW types are so gullable.

There is, I think, at least a degree to which it can be said that I often tend to prefer the Common Tern to the Arctic, as it's call is a clear piping, similar to the Arctic variety, but lower pitched and less strident: sort of like Mae West.

Speaking of terns and er, unthreshed barley straw which of course you weren't but: My brother, the farmer of the family, heard that barley straw put in small sloughs stopped the formation of blue-green algae so he raked up a quantity of said unthreshed barley straw and dumped it in a slough on his farm. That was in in the heat of the summer. A couple of days later he checked to see if it was working as he had been told. Instead he found hundred of terns make a horrendous sound of slurred piping, flapping about uncontrolably and seemingly unable to fly. It seems the unthreshed barley in the straw had fermented and he had lft no tern unstoned for miles around.

Looks like I had one too many barley sandwiches that resulted in the ommission of an e from the word left.

No tern unstoned? That's award winning, Bob: very droll, sir ;-)

Good story Bob.

Are there any sloughs left in the west, or has "Global Warming" dried all of them up?
And is there someone in Danny Millions country with good Puffin tale?
Iggy says Puffins hide their sh** like Liberals.

reminds me of the furry with the syringe on top.

but in the spirit of genuine criticism i feel the word 'stoned' for 'drunk' detracts from the twee value of the joke.

drunk is simply pants pissing drunk dagnabbit and 'stoned' is....well man....'stoned' is waaaaaaay different.'stoned' is for the most part perceptively cerebral .......and stuff like that........man.

Beautiful rural tale. Love it.

Joe Molnar,
Of course there are still sloughs in the west. Global Warming is not a Western Canadian Concept. (You might have to be a westerner to catch the play on words there). I greatly appreciate the kind comments on my little story. If anyone has read a similar version before this is the second time I have used it.
