Now that The One is the Man over here, and it's heresy to do anything less than applaud Him, I'm wondering if there's any other jobs in Kandahar I could apply for?

At least over there, there's Right and there's Wrong. The guys in the Right don't applaud The One, and neither do the guys in the Wrong.

Never did I think there'd be anything so positive about Kandahar.

Cute line in today's Herald from the CDS. He was in Halifax for something or other and he mentioned talking to a sailor on guard duty at the gate in Khandahar. Asked him how he got there and the kid's response?

"Sir, I’m from HMCS Preserver and I went up to the coxswain of my ship and I asked to do something different and here I am."

On the way to "winning the hearts and minds of Canadians", a major step forward would be in changing the the name of the MINES the Taliban are planting. IED conjures up an image of a poor downtrodden native fighting back against the evil Bush regime in the only way he can (in the infantile minds of our Media). They are LAND MINES, dam-it, call them that. My uncle, of barely 24 years was killed by an identical MINE two weeks after the hostilities had ended in WWll. It's a MINE. They are banned internationally by an agreement that this country signed.

meanwhile back in soviet kanuckastan , the peoples media CBCpravda has two out of four headlines about Omar Khadr. one on the separtist coalition, headlined by the separtist , but touting the lieberals, and one on Obama.

Interesting bit of info regarding IED's killing Afghanies by the score, not only Canadian soldiers.

MSM imbeds never mention that point.
Biased news, gatekeeping, I would say.
