We Don't Need No Stinkin' Giant Fans

It usually takes a Kennedy to put the kabosh on these things...

Huron-Kinloss might use an interim control bylaw to keep more wind turbines out of the township.

I'll be the first to admit I have no use for the things, but "health concerns"? From a wind mill?

who the hell would want these wastes of money anywhere near them. i can see them on wolfe island and they are neat in an artsy fartsy way but one hell of a waste of money.

Given their current inefficiencies (as per reports from England), not to mention damage to wildlife (bats in the Crowsnest Pass area being the most recent reported), a serious reevaluation of the real cost of windmill power is in order.

The health concerns are that the wind mills create low frequency sound. Low frequency sounds can travel long distances (hence why you can hear the thumping of the bass from a party a long ways away).

The problem with low frequency sound is that it has a detrimental affect on internal organs. Apparently, it causes them to reverberate which isn't all that good. Also, when the wind blades are turning during the day it can cast a cyclical moving shadow that can cause headaches.

Seriously?

I am having flashbacks of the bogus claims about getting sick from living next door to high power transmission lines.

The bloody things have enough valid reasons to negate them without people making claims like that.

Is this because Dolton is throwing a billion dollars at wind energy? That is money down the drain for sure. They've already got some nice clean nukes near Kincardine; they'd best stick with that.

Ever notice the ***t-eating grin on Taliban Jack's face when he mentions wind/solar----
One of the matters which surprised me....was that each foundation is 1000 tons of reinforced-concrete.......otherwise the monstrosities would blow over.......
Not surprising they cost 3X nuclear....
Then there is the obscene cost of the transmission lines to deliver the juice from the hinter-lands......
Denmark is a world leader in manufacturing the things but has stopped erecting them in Denmark....high maintainence....35% efficiency...70% NO WIND--requiring importing nuclear electricity from Sweden.....
The enviro-nuts suppress that....
Huron-Kinloss has had long bitter experience with the Bruce transmission lines......
Health concerns may be just NYBY but then the enviro-whacho principle.....just in case......
In warmer weather I motor (bike) down to Port Burwell to the wind farm there----I have yet to visit without witnessing a ***t-hawk get reduced to a shower of feathers.....I find that amusing because I am not exactly a fan of dump-chickens......

I think everyone who likes windmills should live underneath one of these giant contraptions. Scary ...

sasquatch

See if you can get some video of a dumphawk getting killed by a turbine.

that's cruelty to animals.

No need for video---just go look........
No cruelty involved----whack---all life flashes away...instant

Before reading this article, consider yourself being down-wind from one of these monsters. The interruption the blades would cause in wind pressure you would feel might affect you. (Depending on wind strength and distance.)
Don't worry, Environment Canada will figger it out.

Note the hypocrisy of the Kennedys, windmills anywhere except where they might have to look at them. Actually no one if their right mind would want to live next to a micro power station, which is what they really are. Huron-Kinloss consists of some of the finest agriculture land in Canada. They have had about 15 years of experience with wind farms, none of it positive. Most residents wish they had never heard of wind power, they will welcome a halt to further development.

the Kennedy yacht was filmed pumping its bilge and diesel into the bay last year. it made the blogs but not the MSM, Kennedy is a sacred name right down to the Caroline you know, uh, you know , um Kennedy maybe you know Senator.

if this technology really worked we would all be speaking Dutch or some other Netherlanderthal dialect.

CLOTSEC!!!!!

There have been problems of stray voltage affecting households and barns in this area since the tubines went up. Funny that Toronto Hydro is replacing all those metal plates that shocked dogs, but the Ontario government allows this to happen to people. Some families actually had to move out of their homes and one farmer finally just sold off his cattle. It is hard to understand the health problems until you actually experience the infrasound coming off these things. Many farmers who signed up for one now wish they hadn't.

"k i bosh'actually....
unknown etymology...intense speculation out there ...of course i have my own hare-brained theory.

and if i see 'reigns' used for 'reins' one more time i intend to throw myself under a galloping horse at Epsom Derby......
