Meh, so what, Kate publishes completely false stories on a regular basis, the difference being that the Times occassionally posts a correction. I don't say this lightly: SDA is less accurate than the MSM.

The gist of the story is that the media went easy on Obama; isn't that precisely what Kate did? Why yes, yes it is, in fact she explicitly opposed the Republican candidate in the last election and repeatedly praised Obama, so did her guest bloggers, some of them declared Obama supporters.

No hard digging on Obama stories prior to the election, no expose on how Obama only got into the Ivy League and Harvard Law Review due to affirmative action.

We won't soon forget that you supported Barack Obama as president, Miss McMillan. If you've ever elucidated a coherent philosophy beyond "bitch" I have yet to see it. You are not remotely conservative, you are a socialist radical just like your tax and spend hero George Bush, and we GOP supporters want nothing to do with you.

Re Canada providing a sane voice v the US. Really? We`re talking media here: if someone wrote a detailed critique of our major MSM, including such entities as the CBC and CTV, the results would be much the same as Patterico’s. The MSM in the West have a preconceived, left-wing narrative and they tend to stick to it—no matter how much reality deviates from their magic thinking script. Reprehensible.

Watching these bloated, arrogant propagandists get caught with their pants down is most gratifying;-)

I’d also like to add how gratifying it is to have a forum to rebut the media buttheads. Before the internet and such sites as this one, the MSM largely got away with promoting their parallel universe.

They stifled most criticism by declining to publish letters that took them to task—and one short letter, if it managed to get by their censors, to reams of “reporting” and/or opinion pieces, could hardly be considered “balanced”. The Press Councils are set up—as I discovered from bitter experience—to support the papers v the complainant. And then there are the TV ombudsmen, who, like Vince Carlin at the CBC, are EMPLOYEES of their organizations: some balance!

Now that the ordinary and, up until now, disenfranchised, citizen also has access to a public forum, where a wide range of fact and opinion—and self correcting, at that—is allowed, the MSM are hearing a lot of “The Emperor has no clothes!” And no amount of their old tactics—omit, spin, suppress, and deny—makes much difference. The MSM have been exposed for the frauds they are AND the blood pressure of the conservatives among us has been given a reprieve. Thanks, Kate!

the crowd who follow the herd in their support of the left rather than show a little indepedence of thought is a symptom of our sheep-like society where anything slightly difficult is abandoned. let's face it it's easier to sound smart by claiming Sarah Palin (or George Bush) is stupid and Obama is brilliant because the crowd will nod in agreement, no further explanation is necessary. having your opinions given to you by people magazine or by Tina Fey is easier than having to analyze actual facts. but try to convince someone that one of their annointed ones (Obama, Gore, suzuki etc) have some shortcomings and their urge to criticize disappears.

Caroline Kennedy, OTOH, has no credentials for political office, other than a name and bloodlines.

At least the blatant bias at newspapers and other media is now well-known, even out in the general public. The Obama election took away almost all doubt about the media's left-wing agenda.
